VED vs traction

I've been using traction for about 3 months with a combination of gentle massaging, pentox and L arginine. While I believe the drug cocktail may be helping, I've finally arrived at the conclusion that I'm not a fan of the traction. I'd like to look at replacing the traction with VED pumping. Based on the fact there are several topics regarding VED devices, and rather than search through page after page, can anyone recommend what to look for in a good VED device?

Side note...is it me or have others noticed that generally members of this forum seem to be sincere, well spoken, empathetic and quite intelligent? Not that I was expecting otherwise, but when I read threads...I'm always amazed at how well members articulate their theories, opinions and experiences? Even when discussions get heated, someone's always there to reign it in and maintain perspective. I find it refreshing...even comforting knowing when I ask for advice, I feel more confident with the feedback I get here, over any URO I've met with so far (5 and counting!)

Just saying ;D

VED vs Traction was discusses many times on the forum.
A search on the home page gives 40 posts.
Myself using VED as I had bad experience with traction (my fault) and very good results with the VED.
Others are using traction very successfully so you should decide yourself what the way to go.

Ketric:

I strongly suggest that you do some serious research in the VED board section of the home page index.

There are many posts there, pro and con, that could very well help you decide which device you should use for your VED therapy.

Be sure that you read the protocols also that indicate the procedure that should be used to conduct your therapy. Only you can decide which device would work for you. There are several excellent VEDs that can and will help with getting rid of Peyronies Disease symptoms as well as helping with ED problems.

Old Man,

Do you have a few recommendations on specific models that are of good quality?

Old Man

Ketric:

Yes, I have used three different company models of VEDs since 1995. The first one that I used was the old Osbon Medical company one cylinder model to get rid of my Peyronies Disease symptoms. It worked equally well for ED. It is still sold today from this source:  www.timmmedical.com  This company bought the rights to make and sell this VED. It is the Erecaid Esteem model. Check out this site to view this device and pricing, etc.

The other two models of VEDs that I have used are made by the Augusta Medical System located in Augusta, GA. I will list each by name and where they can be purchased:

The one cylinder VED was the Augusta Vitality OTC (over the counter). It can be purchased from this site: www.diabetessupplies4less.com    The cost is well below $100.00 USD including S&H. It does not require an RX since it is an OTC unit.

The three cylinder VED was the Augusta SomaSTF model and can be purchases at this site:
www.augustams.com. It can also be purchased at various other web sites too. This VED DOES REQUIRE AN RX. The RX by either a GP or uro stating that it is to be used for ED AND NOT Peyronies Disease since it is not approved by FDA for Peyronies Disease. This device is priced around $600.00 plus S&H. You should do some homework and research the features of each unit (all three) to determine which one would work best for your particular symptoms.

There are other VED/penis enlargement devices out there on the market. But, you should avoid purchasing the ''sex toy shop'' models due to their lessor quality than the medical grade ones. Some members have purchased them, only to have them fail rather quickly after their first uses.

Lastly, again check out the protocols on the VED board section of the home page index to help you decide which model would fit into your budget and work best for you.

What's up Ketric.

VED and traction are very very different forms of therapy, yet both are effective. If traction isnt your thing, try different angles, such as at a very downward one. Also try manual traction, all I have ever done for 2 solid years, now my penis is basically "cured" due to that! Still, be very very very careful...

VED is great for "popping out those dents"! just watch out for any STINGING sensations and do not over pump. Watch out for edema accompanied by pain in your inguinal area.

Ketric

NeoV,

you know what bugs me about the traction...I'm not a big fan of the "noose". I have been trying to modify the "comfort strap" so it's actually comfortable. I cut into a memory foam pillow to try and created some cushioning under that hard rubber strap but can't "adhere" it to the strap.
Any suggestions on the comfort aspect of wearing the device? Also, how do you find time to wear it? I've tried at the office but it's hard to "walk" properly without looking like I have a big crap in my pants! I actually had someone ask me if I injured my leg... "Nope, just wearing a penis stretching device under here...haha (just kidding, I didn't really say that!)
I try about an hour a morning and 2 at night...is 3 hours a day the magical number?

MoatazKad

NeoV,

What's the manual traction?

incautious

ketric, the noose type is almost impossible to use at work. I use an esl40 for work. It's a silicone suction sleeve that you attach with a bungee cord down the side of you leg. Not as effective as the noose, but I've worn it all day with just a few breaks to air things out. You just have to watch out for fluid build up under the glans.

Using this cup separated my glans skin from the glans in 3 places with fluid build up at January 8, until now very sensitive and can't use even VED with very low vacuum.

Head Up

Manual traction is where you basically stretch the penis by hand

James,
Why do you think this happened?  Do you think you wore it for too long?  Or maybe the suction cup was too small?  Only asking b/c I'm thinking about getting one.

I really don't have an answer.
I use it before very successfully with no issues, as many forum members used it also.
If the cup was bigger, I am sure my glans were sliding out as I lost length and girth to the Peyronies.
It was after a very short time of usage, less that 5 minutes, I felt pain so I remove it.
The damage was temporary, within two weeks everything gone, big part because some oil made here that helps with wounds, not to have scars.
Unfortunately, I am still not back with VED because of fear, but I will start VED again shortly, slowly slowly.

I have a naïve question I guess because I'm not sure I understand what these devices are for. It seems that they are to correct the curvatures or dent marks that are caused by the peyronies by reading some posts, however in others it seems like they are being used to regain length and girth, are they used for all of these reason? The VED sounds like it actually stretches the penis out and blows it up which sounds very painful to me,

My partner does not have curvature problem or dent marks from the peyronies however he says has lost length and girth, he does not use either device but I am wondering if he should consider it, if it would be helpful, and should he wait until he meets with the urologist to consider which device?

Stabler;

James is correct in saying that Old Man is our VED guru. To give you some info, VED not only stretches the scar tissue and the tissues around the problem area(s), there's more to it than that. Unlike an erection created from sexual arousal, VED pumps arterial blood into every part of the penis. The method of pumping and releasing repeatedly allows fresh, oxygen rich blood into the penis continually whilst being used. This helps with maintaining penile health.

Your partner has lost length and girth because the plaque will prevent parts of the Tunica from expanding when he becomes erect. It also restricts blood flow into the penis, hence the loss of size. I'm a little puzzled as to why he seems to have neither curvature nor indentation, if that's the case. I can only add that he may not have curvature now, but that may well change.

Stabler

Thank you I will PM Old Man when I get home from work  :)

Curvature from Peyronie's is due to a "plaque" which is one sided, or at least not even.  If length and girth are both lessened, but there is no curvature, it may be more of a generalized circulation/blood flow issue.  If I were experiencing this, I would look for blood vessel blockage in the supply lines.  A test would be to see if VED use can expand the penis to its former length/girth.  If so, then the Tunica may not be as of yet compromised.

VED therapy will circumvent low blood flow to a point, and I would also consider using a VED protocol to keep the Tunica uncompromised while the actual cause of the lack of blood flow is determined.  Treatment of the actual cause of the issues of course will be better determined once the actual cause is determined.
