Injury from VED?

Do VED injuries only occur if the proper protocol is not followed? I want to try VED but I'm scared I'll make things worse. Sick of the lost girth and the head being soft - having a soft head is like losing 2 inches of dick

OK, you have asked the question most asked by new members trying to decide about the VED therapy. The short answer about injury is this: over pumping the vacuum pressure can and will cause edema (swelling of the lymph) damage to the skin of the shaft including foreskin if not circumcised and more pain with these effects.

Now, about the advantages of the VED therapy: if used properly and not applying too much vacuum pressure at any time can and will cause good results in most cases. It would only be fair to you to let you know that there are some cases of Peyronies Disease that do not respond to VED therapy. So, only you can decide about using this form of therapy.

Recently, the moderator of the VED board and I have revised the one cylinder VED protocol to clear up some confusion about how to perform the therapy. It is written so that is no confusion about holding times, time for VED sessions and caution notes as well. Also, there are two other procotols for the three cylinder cylinder VEDS, one for the purchased models and one for those members who make their own three cylinder VEDs. So, log in to the home page index and scroll down to the VED board and open it. Locate the protocols in the first portion of that board forum.

I will be available to answer any questions that you have about VED therapy, so feel free to ask.

This subject if really off topic, so it can be moved to the proper one if needed by the moderator.

Thank you for your response.

You say that certain cases of Peyronie's do not respond so well to VED. Do the ones who don't respond share the same symptoms (eg less curvature for example) or is it totally random and not tethered to the lack or presence of a specific symptom. For example, I seem to have a lot of scar tissue in the lower part of my penis and it feels very weak there. I can visibly see what I think is this scar tissue as there are white lines on the skin of my penis. It's not hard as of yet as I haven't been suffering for long (still acute stage for sure). The upward bend is slight and starts at this point about an inch from the base. My main problems are loss of girth and complete inability for the head of my penis to get hard (no matter what). Also bottle necking (bottlenecks outwards up till it reaches the head at which point it's tiny). Premature ejaculation is also a huge problem (sec lasts 20 seconds).

In short I am hoping VED will stretch the scar tissue and make it less prominent. I am hoping this will alleviate (or partially at least) all my symptoms which are probably caused my having scar tissue to begin with. My bend is not significant so I don't need VED so much for that.

I'm willing to give it a try and will be exceedingly cautious. I assume specific recommendations on which device is best are in the stickies? (have been looking through them this past week trying to learn more before I commit myself).

Many thanks! You seem very expert in this area and I value and appreciate your response.

I can only say that VED therapy is one where it has to be used to determine if any results, good or bad, will occur. Also, I must state that VED therapy has to be one where extreme caution must be exercised or further damage can and will occur.

Now, having said the above, you and you alone can make the final determination whether or not to use the therapy. Strongly urge you to do as much research among all the VED board posts as well as the protocols for each model of VED, i.e., single or three cylinder VED.

Listed among the many posts about VED therapy by members using will certainly give you a huge amount of insight about it and its use. In my personal case, it was prescribed for me after having a radical prostatectomy in 1995 which left me with ED as well as Peyronies Disease. This therapy with the one cylinder model VED gave me back my original size and shape. Also, it took just over a year of almost daily sessions of 15 to 20 minutes based on the time I had available. I still use the VED several times a month just for maintenance of keeping my penis healthy.

So, the above is just a thumbnail sketch of VED therapy as it worked for me. Do the research I suggested above to get the overall picture from many members who have used VEDs or are using them now.

Having read the forum it seems more people are getting injured than not. Even those following the proper protocol. I've heard that water based pumps like the bath mate are much better as they do not exert so much pressure on your penis. They work to enlarge your penis which stretches the scar tissue in the same way a regular pump would. This seems altogether the safer option. Have you any knowledge on the bath mate? I did a search of these forums but there are very few hits. Thanks! Seems like the bath mate would work just as well

A search on the forum home page shows 62 posts regarding bath mate. You may want to read them as you are saying "I did a search of these forums but there are very few hits."
Also I don't understand how you get to the conclusion bellow:
QuoteHaving read the forum it seems more people are getting injured than not.
As someone who read all the posts on the forum can say that the above statement is completely wrong. To get to the above conclusion you must read ALL the VED related posts on the forum (2236 posts, some of them not VED, just like received, loved, etc') and make a compilation on them. It will take you around one month in my opinion, but can be done. I made such a forum research regarding Pentox back in March 27, 2012
Of course you may decide alone what kind of VED to use or not and wish you very successful outcome.

The benefits I got from VED pre-injury were outstanding, and that was after only using it for a few months. It was a miracle to me.

I did not follow the protocol exactly, I think in general the protocol is very safe if followed strictly.

Still I do not consider myself to have "overpumped" in any traditional sense. Injury does not require "overpumping" per se, as in overpumping the actual penis itself to overexpand. Injury can be from holding too long (10 minutes in my case), and from abnormalities of your inguinal area causing or making a pre-existing predisposition to hernia worse. It can also be from pumping too often or just because your lymphatic structure or vascular structure is simply prone to being damaged. Sure, you can overpump the actual penis itself, but that isn't required for "injury". Just be very very smart, and avoid any stinging or discomfort. There will be warning signs, albeit mild ones. I may have made the mistake of thinking that the stinging, as mild as it was, was actually my scar tissue breaking apart.

HI I've spent 100 hours reading up on this issue so I'm looking for technical replies.
For relatively healthy younger men they usually do not suffer from lack of blood flow into the penis through the arteries but an excess of blood out through the veins.( the blood does not stay trapped in the penis-it escapes faster then the arteries can send blood in) This is called venous Leakage.  Many causes for Venous Leakage: damaged veins, damaged CC tissue, Peyronies. With me I think I damaged the veins and nerves when I used the vacuum pump and ring.
My question is: Since the pump is pulling in venous blood,( not arterial blood) into the penis, could it be exacerbating the issue of venous leakage??
Pulling blood into the penis using a pump should make the veins larger and therefore allow for more blood out when trying to get an erection the "normal" way??
For a normal erection, arterial blood comes in and as the penis expands it shuts off the veins to trap the blood.
I can see the pump being good for Peyronies treatment but I can also see it being bad for dealing with venous leakage.
Thoughts?

2014sucked:

You may be partially right about getting further damage with venous leakage using the VED. This is mainly caused by the user of a VED overpumping the vacuum pressure and holding it way too long before releasing the pressure.

I have had venous leakage since the early age of 50 years (Now 85) which was caused by a heart problem. Had a radical prostatectomy at the age of 65 which left me with an ED problem along with Peyronies Disease.

I used the VED therapy for just over a year to get rid of the Peyronies Disease and also used the VED for getting erections for sex. Today, at age 85, I can still manually get an erection and use a cock ring to hold it up long enough for sex.

Bottom line, the VED can and will help in some cases (like mine did) regain at least some of a natural erection capability.

Hope this helps and if you have done damage to your penis by over pumping the vacuum pressure, you can try to recover some of the lost capability by using extreme caution with the VED therapy. in future usage.

with traction and ved you should talk to your urologist and do exactly what he sais to do.
