Taking a break after 2 hours

I've mentioned this elsewhere in another thread previously, but it's been troubling me a bit.

As far as I'm aware - most traction devices come with a warning that they should not be used for more than 2 hours at a time. The basis of this is that you should allow your penis a break so that bloodflow can return to normal.

However, the Phallosan Forté manual recommends wearing the device for extended periods of time & says that no break is necessary - because it doesn't rely on a noose mechanism (it has a VED-type suction bell which holds the penis in place).

I can see the logic in not needing to take a break because there's no risk of strangulation. But I note that the Penimaster Pro (which works via the same mechanism) still advises users to take a break after 2 hours.

Is the break recommended because the noose on a "normal" traction device might cut off bloodflow if tied too tightly? Or are we saying that the stretching of the penile tissue interferes with bloodflow? (I can't really see why this should be the case - esp when using Pentox &/or Cialis?)

I took the issue up with the manufacture of the PF & they remained adamant a 2 hour break wasn't necessary, & in fact recommended aiming to keep it on for as long as possible, claiming that 6 hours at a time would be an optimum use of the device.

Just wondered if anyone has any insight into the advised 2 hour break, where it comes from, on what basis, & whether it should still apply to traction devices which don't rely on a noose.

When on traction, are your glans become cold and white?
If yes, don't use it longer than the other manufacturers advice. It may be just a commercial gimmick to fight the competitirs.
Mine get there in 10 minutes!!! This is the reason I am not using traction.

No cold/white sensation James. So perhaps if that's a problem for you I would recommend trying out one of these suction bell/sleeve type extenders (like the PF, or Penimaster Pro) instead of the noose fitted devices?

I should add that I am using Pentox, CoQ10 & Cialis - so maybe those are helping to prevent cessation of bloodflow. Who knows...

Thanks for the advice 29mUK.
Unfortunately the traction device you are mentioning had caused me a sever injury 6 weeks ago and I am out of any mechanical treatment including VED that helped/helping me a lot.

That doesn't sound good at all.

Mind if I ask what you've done? & how? Purely because I'd like to avoid causing myself the same kind of trouble!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery anyway.

Have installed the silicon cap on my glans.
Because the glans now is small, it comes out easy from the cup, so I have to make the process a few time until it is not sliding out.
I guess, but not sure, that during those trials my gland engorged slightly and the cup made a higher pressure than usually.
After some 10 minutes I started to feel some pain, so I removed the cup. I found the skin has separated from the glans in a few places and have liquid bellow.

The biggest one was exactly in the opening of the urethrae, healing in this place is very difficult because of urinating.
4 weeks until it healed and I was able to have intercourse again.
Unfortunately I don't have yet the courage to start VED again even VED is the main component in my treatment.
I want to mention also that the injury occurred after using the cup for more than 3 weeks and I think I started to see some results.
I am trying to find some new silicon tube for my "Classic" traction device, it holds bellow the glans.

Dear God, that sounds horrific. Sorry you've had to endure that mate, & best of luck with getting back on with VED & perhaps the classic traction device in due course...

I'll certainly bear your experience in mind & be sure to take care with the PF as I proceed!!!
