VED: Was your experience GOOD or BAD?; Can ERECTIONS do just as good???

1. I feel like I am getting some mixed messages just scanning over the responses on VED.

I have Peyronies Disease from an injury 4 weeks ago (meaning I am in the acute phase still?), and am considering VED.
( more about my situation here: Newly Diagnosed - Peyronies Disease caused by injury 4 weeks ago - pLeAsE help ! - Peyronies Society Forums )

Did VED help your situation? If it did not, was it possibly just because you over-pumped or did not use it correctly? Do you think it would be helpful for me (with a 20 degree curve and some indentations)?

2. Is the main point of VED's to get blood flow to the penis?

If so, would it be just as well if I simply maintain an erection (without porn) for a certain amount of time every day? Would erections be good even with VED anyway? (So far, I have been trying to avoid getting erections as I was thinking the stretching might prevent healing).

Thank you SO much in advance,

Dude

VED helped me to gain back 1.5 cm from the 6.5 lost to Peyronies and some girth. Also 3 hourglasses disappeared, two plaques softened.
It was VED with Pentox and low dose Cialis.
to point 2. - Yes. The sessions of pumping blood in and out is helping the health of the penis. This is the reason that an erection is not working the same.

Your answers are already on this forum, everywhere. Take a look!

VED is not the same as erections, because it,
1: fills the penis evenly, and stretches the dented areas while erections cannot.
2: rapidly fills the penis with oxygen rich blood, improves oxygen saturation by some 80% even after.

While that may not even make sense, our forum members have had extremely positive results. I however wish I never used it, since I have chronic edema and very painful inguinal areas on both sides. It did help a lot when I was using it... But I had to stop.

Stop using it even if you have the slightest stinging sensations.

NeoV:

After slightly injuring myself with the VED recently (have not touched it since), I have pain in the inguinal area on my right side along with some edema (only on right side as well, Peyronies Disease scars mainly on left side). It seems to come and go which is strange. It seems to have died down over the last few days but still doesn't totally feel right.

Besides laying off any treatment until I feel better (and following the proper protocol!), do you have any suggestions on how to mitigate the inguinal pain (when it's present)? I'm going to the URO on Tue to discuss the issue. I've also cut out masturbation and am taking a break from sex. Thanks.

NeoV & Head Up & James:

Thank you so much for your replies.

NeoV/HeadUp/Anyone: Can you tell me what inguinal and edema mean? Are these aspects of Peyronies Disease for you or something different? And most importantly, were these issues caused directly by using the VED???? You recommend me using one even though in your case it did not work out well?

Finally, this is the one Old Man has recommended to me... Do you think this is a good one? Augusta Medical Vitality Vacuum Erection Device | Men's Health/ ED

Hey all!

Thank you all for providing me insight already to my responses and to just all the posts I have looked through. I have a question I wanted to make another topic for...

Which is better, the 1 cylinder or 3?, for my particular situation??

My Peyronies Disease: I have some minor pain (daily, on and off), a curve (about 15 degrees) which may or may not be getting slightly worse, and I am also just now getting a new indentation which I am worried might get worse and form a more prominent hourglass shape/2nd curve. As of right now, nothing is TOO crazy all in all, and I will be okay if everything stays as is, but am worried things will keep getting worse. My injury which is causing this all was 4 weeks ago. It was not a very traumatic injury, and about 24 hours later is when I noticed my first symptoms.

Old Man has been very helpful and has recommended this one to me: Augusta Medical Vitality Vacuum Erection Device | Men's Health/ ED
...Money is an issue for me BUT I am DEFINITELY fine with spending whatever I need to if I think it will really help.
Just trying to check before I invest in anything.
Any other general advice on VED is very appreciated as well.

I am also currently taking Pentox, L-Arginine, and CoQ10. Any other recommendations?

THANK YOU THANK YOU AGAIN  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Headup, I am completely hopeless and saddened by the issue. I cannot even make it better with rest or compression. It is chronic and getting worse. This is why I urge everyone to stop as soon as signs appear.

VED will cause this, probably in prone individuals. It's likely a structural issue. Please let me know what the urologist says. He is likely to tell you to rest it but please push him for a solution. I spend my days wondering if it can be surgically repaired. In a week I'll ask my urologist here in Tokyo his thoughts but I have little expectations.

Jonbinspain

I bought mine from this guy. Works fine for me. If anybody wants to tell me differently, please do so.

AUGUSTA MEDICAL MANUAL OPERATION VACUUM ERECTION DEVICE. DISCREET PACKAGING | eBay

P.s. Sorry for the link, but I couldn't think of another way of doing it.

Head Up

@ dude1 - That's the device I purchased. I was in the middle of converting it to a 3 cylinder but have since put that on hold until I'm healed 1000%. Hopefully NeoV can help you with the defitions. Edema I think refers to fluid build-up and inguinal I interpreted as being in the groin around the base of the penis but not in the actual penis itself. I could be totally wrong though. And they are aspects related to improper VED use, not specific to us or Peyronies Disease.

I think the correct terminology for what we are experiencing is called sclerosing lymphangitis of the penis. It's caused by a blocked lymph vessel caused by improper VED use or other trauma. I've been reading up on this all night. In a few threads I found on different forums, remedies range from heat/massage to rubbing oils to doing nothing to drinking crazy fruit/vegetable concoctions. Oh yeah, some guy mentioned sit-ups helped him.

Even though I haven't tried it yet, I would follow the EXACT protocol listed by old man and also purchase the device he suggested. Any pain or discomfort, quit immediately!

@ NeoV - I'm almost positive it can be surgically repaired (drained maybe) but hopefully it doesn't come to that for you, myself, or anyone else. I digested a lot of information tonight and am rather tired. I'm going to PM you a link to an 8 page thread on another website where this issue is discussed. And while Dr Levine will be my URO for xiaflex if and when I get approved, I'm going to a more local URO tomorrow and will press him like a friggin' grape for you until I get some wine. PM me if there's any specific questions you want me to ask. I'll post back here after my appt on Tuesday.

I do think my inguinal pain is pretty much gone but I want to get rid of these two damn half rings! I have a heat pack on my schlong right now as a matter of fact. Don't think it's helping much though. In the mean time, I'm going to use a combo of light massage, heat, and exercise.

NeoV

Dude1, somehow I missed your post, but Head Up addressed it! The Augusta manual is the one that Old Man and I and most guys use and recommend. Most of us use single cylinder due to the price.

Head Up, it means a lot to me that you can relate and are also willing to dig for information. I think I've reached a state of exhaustion regarding my edema, but you've given me a little bit of hope and willingness to push for answers again. I still have shooting pain unfortunately. It's been a year and 3 months since my "injury", but I still firmly want to emphasize that I did not use the VED in any extreme way.

I really appreciate it!!! Just got on the floor to do situps lol. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Head Up

@ NeoV -

Anytime my friend. We are all in this together whether it appears that way or not. By pooling our resources via this website, our chances on battling this ugly disease with success is (hopefully greatly) increased. I was doing sit-ups last night as well too LOL. Got to about 30 and holy cow did it show me how out of shape I am! That's about to change as I'm about to go on a major health kick exercise-wise. Swimming 3 times a week, with weight-lifting 3 days as well. Also pretty much stopped eating fried foods entirely and quit smoking. Craft beer, now that will be impossible to get rid of but I will tone down my intake.

I remember reading from the thread I forwarded to you that the longer the lymph fluid is trapped, the harder it becomes to remove. I don't see why the doc can't just suck some of the edema out with a needle to decrease the ring size. If there's a blockage and that's why it's not draining, I would imagine that fluid won't be able to get back in there after being drained. If it does, that should mean that the blockage is cleared if the fluid can travel there.

Really sucks to be dealing with two problems at once (I had 3 at once with one being a bladder infection that just cleared up!) down there. BUT, as the old adage goes, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! Try to take solace in the fact that you are one strong motherf***er for going through all of this. I'll update tomorrow with any advice my URO can provide. Take care, and keep your Head Up.

I have ordered the Augusta Medical Vitality Vacuum Erection Device | Men's Health/ ED & I will post about how it affects me in the future.

Thank you all for your help. I just posted something in the Traction section as well in case any of you have comments on that area. I am particularly wondering about if Traction can be beneficial to hourglassing, something I do not see much info on.

NeoV & Head Up: I am a little confused about why you recommend the VED so strongly even though it caused each of you injury? I guess you just know that it can work sometimes when properly used? It is a little worrisome to me that two of the few people who responded to me both had injuries due to VED.

Head Up, also thank you for this line: what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! A nice thing for me to keep in mind  :)

All the best,
- dude1

Edit: PS... an interesting VED study... you can find the abstract here: The role of vacuum pump therapy to mechanically straighten the peni... - PubMed - NCBI
...and I was also able to find the full article, which is posted here in case anyone would like to read the full version: http://www.filedropper.com/pdarticle (make sure you click the correct "download" button and don't click any ads).

Head up thanks, I have no received that link yet. Looking forward to it, I wonder if it's a long thread I've seen before.

@ dude1 -

Why would I still recommend VED even after injury? Simply put, many here have used it with success following proper protocol. I unfortunately did not follow the proper protocol. So the injury is my fault. Because I didn't follow directions (basically just failed to read them first), that doesn't mean that you will too.

Just follow Old Man's protocol and you should be fine. And remember, stop if there's any hint of pain. I can't speak for NeoV so perhaps he will address your question as well. There's pretty simple directions on this site somewhere which detail converting the one cylinder into a 3 cylinder. I even posted a plastic supplier where you can purchase the tubes for a good price. Here's the link so you can find it easier in case you wish to proceed with the conversion:

Has anyone hear heard of vacutech? Ive already inveasted in a pumping system from them but I dont think they are  a medical type ved, I mean does it matter really?? As long as you keep the hg vacuum pressure low it shouldn't matter should it? Or am I missing something?

The whole system was quite expensive so id hate for this to be a miss. The vacutech flared cylinder was made to create a better seal

I am merging this topic with the other one you have because it is basically on the same subject.
This is also the reason you are not getting answers for it.
By the way, your particular situation is also the particular situation of many other people.

Hey James, I have no idea how to send links I'm really new at posting and all this. I get on here through my cell phone so it seems to make everything a bit harder and slower. I dont have a computer. Can you tell me if you dont mind?

I know they have a website I believe is what it is, thank you.

oops, I guess I just figured out how to do a link, I apologize, I didnt know doing that does that.

THANK YOU Head Up for your continued responses, and also thank you James for merging my posts and being patient with my newness to this forum  :)

I needed to take a few days break from researching to de-stress, which is why I haven't answered in a while. I will slowly and carefully begin VED therapy this weekend and will get back to you about my progress.

THANKS AGAIN all. I feel a LOT better due to this forum and all the helpful info AND people here. All the best.
