Hello everyone

I am a 19 year old with diagnosed Peyronie's disease, I have been contemplating joining this forum for a little while now and have really started to feel down about my condition recently and feel as if it's time to reach out to others who understand what is going on.

I first noticed my signs of Peyronies about 4-5 months ago when I first saw some decreased  size  in my penis and a significant bend to the left. Shortly after I noticed almost a constant dull pain up the left side of my shaft and even more pain when erect and started to worry about what was going on. I did some internet research and was very unhappy with the results I found. It took me a month to tell my parents about what was going on and it was quite a rough month for me.  Im a college student pursuing my degree which I stress about a lot and now worrying about why my penis wasn't straight wasn't helping me a whole lot. I work a lot as well  and it just seems as if life has been piling a lot on lately, but I understand that everyone's got there own problems to deal with.

I have always been relatively good with girls but since I have been diagnosed with this disease my confidence has really been shot and I constantly worry about if I'll ever meet a girl now that I've gotten this at such a young age.

Ive seen a urologist and a peyronies expert in the past month or so (both who confirmed the peyronies) and am now beginning my recommended treatment of a penis pump and some oral medications

I have been feeling pretty depressed as of lately and am struggling a little to deal with this. I've always been very outgoing and extremely active as I love sports but have been pretty closed off to everything lately. I know my Penis isn't everything but this condition has really hit me hard.

I really hope the treatment I've been recommended helps. I know my doctor has recommended the VED device but I was wondering of anyone has been successful using a penile traction device to straighten their curves because I've researched them a lot and the seem to be pretty safe and effective.... I think.

Any input would be much appreciated,
Thank you

Also any real success stories would also be helpful right now. Just hearing that it can possibly get better would help considering that I constantly read that there is no "cure" for Peyronies

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis at such a young age. The thing is to be pro active about this disease, it is highly unlikely to resolve itself otherwise.

Re treatments. The most highly thought of ones you can read about on the site. I say this because we have all found that what works for one guy, doesn't for another. So it's somewhat trial and error until you find what works best for you.

Both VED and traction will help with curvature and with general penile health. Again, advice and protocol are here on the site. If you're unsure about VED use, send a P.M. to Old Man, he's our resident expert on the use of those devices.

Orally, try to get a prescription for Pentox. Many of us also use ALC, CoQ10, arginine, low dose Cialis, to name the most used supplements.

NeoV

Traction, or rather manual stretching greatly reduced my curvature and has nearly "cured" me. I may still have some signs of the disease but they are rather transient and at times unnoticeable. I'll never be done with Peyronie's perhaps, in that I'll always have to be careful, but I've gotteb much much better. I highly recommend traction for debts it bends.

Can you tell us what are the oral medications the doctors prescribed you?
Don't lose hope, you are young and young people are healing much better that older people.

James,
I was prescribed Pentox, L-Arginine, and a low dose cialas for my treatment.
That is good to hear, I also hope by starting my treatment as fast as I can can start to reverse the symptoms as fast as possible

Hurricane333,

There are pros and cons with each (VED vs. traction) so it is hard to say which is better. It is why we have boards dedicated to each on this forum. And we have members who are experienced with each. A VED requires less time, there is a protocol we suggest that requires about 20 mins a day to use. Traction on the other hand requires more time. They work similarly in that both create a 'pull' on the Peyronies scar/plaque. The traction device puts a direct pull while the VED puts an indirect pull (due to pressure from the sidewall of the VED) while at the same time putting a force pushing outward (because of creating an erection.

So is hard to say or recommend one over the other in my opinion. Members here have had success with both.

Staying active in your sports and not isolating yourself from your friends will help with the depression.

Please read the forum rules regarding quotes!!!
I was adding to the oral treatment VED and/or traction. Both should be done carefully, both can help reversing the symptoms.
