Do you think CoQ10 is as good as pentox?

My penis started to bend a little bit left a few weeks back, there was a bit of pain which is gone now. Its still a bit more bent than it was but the dent that was at the base when the pain was there seems to have lessened. There was also a dent just below the head (also on the left side) which seems to have lessened a bit also.

The improvements may have something to do with me ensuring good quality erections while being extremely gentle with it, as when i masturbated roughly like i used to things seemed to get worse.

As it is right now i'm still ok with my penis but i do fear the possibility of it getting worse. I am young, just under 25.

It does not seem like i will be getting pentox anytime soon, i have already lost some money trying to buy it online.

It sounds from reading here like pentox is the most important medication for stopping or reversing the condition. I have been taking the recommended doses of coq10, acetyl carnitine and l-arginine.

How much better is pentox than these? Is it unlikely the the coq10 alone will help much?

CoQ10 did very well alone in the one famous study. You would have to compare studies to know which was better. It's only one study but consider it a very good study, use that stuff.

Personally, I use both. I have cut the Pentox to 2 x 400mg due to gastric problems. I also take 200mg of Ubiquinol in the morning and 400-600mg CoQ10 for the evening.

Re Pentox, or Trental to give it it's generic name. Have you tried River Pharmacy? Many of us here use them and consider them very straightforward and reliable.

Ok. Just saw your other post re legality in your country. I live in Spain and can receive it with no problems, as it's legal. I would have thought that there should be some EU list of prescription and non prescription drugs?

I don't think you can really talk about how much 'better' Pentox is than, say, CoQ10 or ALC, as Pentox is doing an entirely different kind of thing--which may or may not address what is causing your condition. Peyronie's involves fibrosis and plaque, but the mechanism is still obscure, and there may be more than one condition.

So, the answer is, No one knows.

That said, a lot of people have adverse reactions to Pentox, while few people have adverse reactions to CoQ10 or ALC. But if you don't have adverse reactions, I would say that all three is probably best!

UrsusMinor, Just wondering what you mean by adverse reactions?  As in it made their condition worsen?   Or as in side effects like gastro problems?  I would hate to think the meds and supplements I'm on could be making things worse for me!

Most common is nausea, some say it interferes with sleep a bit and a few have found they get sick more often (cold/flu etc)
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Thanks for your response!  It's good to know that these meds and supps wont make things worse!

Gastric problems are the most likely side effect of Pentox. It also thins the blood, so be careful taking it in conjunction with other blood thinners of any sort.

Pentox is not a blood thinner in the usual way. It makes the red blood cells (that carry the oxygen) flexible so they can supply to the thinnest blood vessels.
Other blood thinners like aspirin for example are really reducing the blood viscosity.

I doubt that anyone has worsened their Peyronie's by using Pentox.

A lot of people seem to get flu-like symptoms or immune system depression.

Others, including me, get nausea. No matter how I try to work my way up slowly, I get an aching back and gut, a dizzy feeling...and then eventually I throw up uncontrollably.

If I could tolerate Pentox, I'd be on high doses. It has a good track record, and some of the side effects (lowering blood pressure) aren't bad for most people.

It just doesn't seem to agree with some folks!

Pentoxifylline works better then coq10 but dealing with the side effects becomes unbearable expecially taking it for long periods of time.
