Hey everyone,

So I have been using the VED method therapy off and on for a couple of months. I have a vitality medical VED device, and have been using a 10-minute daily protocol. I have been careful. however. After reading several posts here, I think I will tweak my method. I have a slight curvature that I accidentally caused myself when I was younger, probably about 10 years ago before my first sexual encounter. My penis, when flaccid, always prefers laying to the left, and there is a definite bend on the left side and the structure is certainly bendable and weaker on the left side.

I haven't taken the best scientific approach in consistently measuring my progress, and now, to the best of my memory, I feel like I may have made the curvature worse. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced a worsening of symptoms using a VED device for penile curvature, or is the overwhelming response positive. The VED device is successful in helping me achieve erections, however, I am worried that I could possibly make things worse and need help with a. a reliable measurement method for curvature. b. an explanation of what damage a VED could cause that would make the condition worse c. a response from someone who has had a negative reaction and how you knew.

Tl;dr:
has anyone experienced an exacerbation of their peyronies condition or a worsening by using a VED device, and how can you tell.

Since this is your first post on the forum, we don't have much information about your overall symptoms. However, from your description, it is possible that you are still in the acute phase of your Peyronies Disease.

Have you been officially been diagnosed with Peyronies Disease by a qualified urologist specializing in Peyronies Disease? Any information about your symptoms would greatly help the guys on the forum to offer suggestions and/or help.

Read all the posts you have time for about Peyronies Disease therapy using the VED on the many posts in the VED board section of the home page index when you log in. You may find some solution there that would help you with your problem.

You mention that your protocol schedule does not say you do the therapy cycles every day, but on an off and on schedule. VED therapy works best when it is done on a daily basis (if at all possible) so that your penis gets the best treatment it can. Again, if your are in the acute stage of Peyronies Disease, VED therapy does sometimes cause the condition to worsen. So, you have to adjust your therapy according to what results are obtained.

I am sure others on the forum have had the same result for themselves and will give you some help with how they handled their situation.

I don't see how VED can make damage if not over-pumping.
Should pump always to the level that is still comfortable.
How to measure curve you will find here:
Instructions for Measuring Curvature - Peyronies Society Forums
Over pumping may make blisters, broken tinny blood vessels blow up, bumps.
Ones over-pumped (before joined the forum), got two red bumps. Stopped VED and they disappear after one week.
As Old Man has said, give us some more information regarding your symptoms and if a doctor had diagnosed you with Peyronies.

Old Man, who is the VED guru here, notes that in the acute phase that VED use can cause the condition to worsen. It would probably be more accurate to say that in the acute phase, the condition can worsen in conjunction with VED use.

But, truthfully, none of us knows, when we have an improvement or worsening of a condition, whether any given thing we are doing is creating the effect. If we are using a therapy and have a worsening of the condition, then we will naturally assume they are related...but the therapy may not be the cause of the worsening. Indeed, it may have even constrained the worsening. Similarly, when someone does something and their condition improves, it is easy to conclude that the action resulted in the improvement. But people get worse or get better even if they do nothing, so we really don't know!

I doubt that a VED can be harmful unless overpumped...but some people find it easy to overpump.

Old Man and James are both correct, however--you'd get more useful responses if you were more specific.

why does the use of VED in acute phase cause the situation to worsen ? doesnt it help on the contrary ? the "produced" colagen fibers are stetched during VED so they are not going to "solidify" so much in my opinion. But I am only guessing :)

Most think it helps, yes. Some people on this forum have reported negative reactions to VEDs--even if not overpumping.

If I had to guess why this sometimes happens, I would propose that it probably is aggravating underlying inflammation. I'm in the acute phase, and have found that the VED was quite helpful. But there are also a few days where I have avoided it because I was already inflamed.

I suspect it's probably like sex/masturbation: Probably generally beneficial, but sometimes some people may just need to leave Mr Happy alone for a bit.

wkurtka:

The reason that I say that in a very few cases of acute stage Peyronies Disease that the situation can worsen is this:  the penis is in all probability in a very serious state of inflammation. Then the added pressure of the vacuum being applied can and will cause further trauma to already damaged tissue in the erectile chambers.

And further, most guys who are just starting off with VED therapy seeing their penises take on a very new and different shape than before VED therapy get the urge to pump too much vacuum.
That is why the caution is listed all over the forum posts in the VED board about not over pumping the vacuum pressure. Some cases of Peyronies Disease the acute stage takes much longer than others and exerting too much activity to an already damaged penile shaft will definitely add to the problem.

The above has been observed by me over the past 20 plus years of VED therapy for myself and many other men. I have worked under the supervision of my personal urologist in ED as well as Peyronies Disease therapy using several brands of VEDs. And, during this time observed many and varied conditions with penises were abused in their therapy which caused further trauma.
