3 Months Post Implant surgery

It has been 3 months since I had my surgery and I wanted to give everyone an update in case you are considering it.
I know a lot of focus has been on Xiaflex on the forums lately, but for some of us, that is not a viable option.
For instance, I had venous leakage and wouldn't have benefited from Xiaflex.
Not gonna lie, after surgery there is a ton of pain, but it goes a way and is well worth it.  I still have some pain here and there and the recovery for me personally has been longer than I expected.  Everyone is different, some can take weeks, others, months. Again, Totally worth it.
One of the first benefits I noticed was the weight of the world off of my shoulders.  It's been great not worrying about taking a ton of expensive medications 5 times a day. I've been able to focus on the things I did before I got the horrific disease, like music and going to the beach and spending quality time with my family.
I have more confidence and have been looking to ignite my career and search for a new job.
Of course the sex is great and can do the things I could do before Peyronies Disease and then some!  I have much more confidence to initiate sex and have been reconnecting sexually with my wife.
Size:
I lot of people worry about losing size, hell I know I was racking my brain before the surgery because I was afraid of losing size.  Well, I did lose some length and that bothered me at first, but once I started using it, I forgot all about it.
Overall, it's harder and thinker than it was before Peyronies Disease. (I have the Titan OTR) And my wife personally prefers girth over length.
Someone on another forum said, "Don't focus so much on which model you get, but the Doctor who performs the surgery." And that has stuck with me. The surgeon is important. I am happy with mine and have my old penis back thanks to him with no complications.
If you have any questions you can pm me.  I'll continue to give updates from time to time about my progress.

Hi AddBoy,

I am a 29 year old male who has severe erectile dysfunction. I have had it for roughly 10 years now (I have 2 posts on this website).

I have 2 questions -

1- Before I developed quite severe ED I remember feeling like my private part 'was there' when it was flaccid and had some blood flow in it. I felt a strong drive to approach women and initiate sex. How does your private part feel when it's flaccid with the prosthetic implant? By having a flaccid private part that has some 'fluid' does your penis feel 'alive' when your walking around town and see attractive women, etc.? (or let's just say your wife to be appropriate as most people are family men and will have to exercise restraint if they are good people / that's probably more appropriate!)

2- When you inflate your penis do you then feel quite horny? (say if you have 'a loaded gun' / have built up your sperm over a couple days) Example - With an 'inflated' / 'erect' prosthetic penis once inflated do you feel like you just need urge to 'jump on your lady' so to speak? .. or will you have a casual non foreplay conversation with her about how it's time to have sex and once 'inside' you will both have a great time?

I have been looking on the forums quite a bit and my main concern with a prosthesis is with regards to foreplay - In my past relationships (especially when healthy) I found that it was thanks to my sex drive and the way I touched my woman and kissed her that typically initiated sex. When healthy I was a bit of a nympho which might have spurred my condition / damaging my private part in the first place. My desire for sex would essentially 'turn her on'. Do you get this desire and the magic ability back with a penile prosthesis (say when it's inflated). I have not found too much on the subject but these 2 questions are really geared towards shedding some light on that/foreplay. How do you initiated sex? How is the physical intimacy prior to intercourse? Can people describe their experiences a little in this regard?

.. at my age this might guide my decision as to whether I just rely on loading myself up with Cialis, etc. as my condition gradually erodes or try to attack the organic root causes (only non 'band-aid' solution I have found so far is the prosthesis route). While not perfect it would be psychologically beneficial to me if my condition was constant/stable in a relationship.

Thanks so much for any feedback guys!

addboy,

I'm so glad to hear that the procedure worked out well for you.

I have a few questions in case I ever opt for this surgery (when I'm older - my erections are still ok now, although I have slight venous leakage):

How long did it take for any pain or discomfort from the surgery to go away?  Is your flaccid length greater than your old flaccid length, and if so did this cause any discomfort?

Does sex feel as good as it used to before peyronie's?  I noticed that when I get aroused the bloodflow to my genitals increases senstation - not just the bloodflow to the chambers of the penis causing erection, but the flushing of the skin, etc.  Do you still get this "flushed" feeling in the penis which increases sensititity when aroused?

Sorry for the late reply guys, I will answer all replies/comments today and try to visit more often. But on a positive side, my absence shows how implant surgery can get your life back to normal. I have resumed normal activities including exercise, work and SEX!
It's been 14 months since my surgery, 12 since I've been able to use it, and it's been great.  I'm noticing now that I have more sensation than before(and it was still good before), and almost no discomfort when pumped to the max.  Between getting my sensations back and the great more frequent sex, I feel like I'm 18 again.
There are little inconveniences like finding the right underwear that fits you right.  Making sure my penis doesn't hit the under side of a public toilet seat (yuk!)

I can't tell you how good it feels not to take pills all day that are not even proven work.  If you've exhausted other options and are hesitant of this life changing surgery, do not be afraid, it will dramatically improve your quality of life.

DISCLAIMER: DO NOT FOCUS ON MAXIMIZING YOUR PENIS SIZE, FOCUS ON FINDING THE RIGHT SURGEON, THIS WILL DETERMINE YOUR POST OP EXPERIENCE.
If you need a Dr. recommendation, let me know I'll be glad to help.

As far as pain/discomfort, I think that's on an individual basis. I know for me I'm sensitive to pain and pleasure so It took about 3 -4 months for the discomfort to go away.  It's gradual and depends on how inflated you are. For instance, you won't be able to fully inflate for a few months, and even then it will be uncomfortable for a few months but will go away.

My flaccid length is much greater than before so there are certain bathing suits and tight pants that i can no longer wear.  I had to go out and buy new underwear because my old ones were uncomfortable and too tight on my penis. If you can get the surgery right before the summer, even better.  This way you can wear loose shorts to walk around in until you can deflate your penis and feel comfortable These are all minor inconveniences that are well worth it!

The first time I had sex after the surgery was uncomfortable and not much sensation which freaked me out, but after that it got better and better.  Now sex feels AMAZING and is just as good if not BETTER than before peyronies.  I suppose this could be due to the pain and discomfort I dealt with for years pre surgery.
I still get bloodflow and flushed feeling around the outside of my penis. In fact, I have gotten so aroused that my penis will stand up on its own without inflating (i would advice against trying to have sex like that, make sure you're inflated firm enough to have intercourse.)  So between bloodflow to head and outside, plus internal inflation, you can have a rockin hard on with the same sensation or more than before.

Great report, addboy - very encouraging! Congratulations on biting the bullet and slaying Peyronie's once and for all with the nuclear option.

Tell me, something I've always been curious about ... when you're flaccid, at work, or just sitting around, are you always aware of the fact that there's "equipment" inside your penis and scrotum. Does it feel like you're carrying something around down there?  I suspect not, but I just can't imagine how it wouldn't feel that way. So please explain the sensation if you can.

Best,
Nemo

Addboy,

I must say that this is truly inspirational. I think I really need to make this jump as my ED has deteriorated severely and pills are becoming unreliable (not to mention I am feeling the plaque getting worse I think.., heh). I'm 29 and really want to move into a serious committed relationship - I can only pray that my experience if I go the implant route is as good as yours.. at the moment (such as this evening) I am in a really dark place and this post of yours was quite uplifting.

addboy

Hi everyone, hope you're all hanging in there.
I wanted to address the issue of intimacy that was asked in a question below:
As far as foreplay and initiating sex, this is the same as it was before Peyronies Disease.  The only change is pumping to get the erection.  Since there will be a slightly awkward 20 second period that you're pumping, it may be best to tell your partner before initiating sex. You may be surprised that most will find this intriguing and want to do it with you even more.  You can even brag about it like, "I can have sex as long as you want me to."
I find that my wife's orgasms are more intense since the erect state doesn't change during her orgasm. She's also been having more frequent multiple orgasms.
You could even make pumping a part of foreplay by doing it while in your partners mouth. Gradually pumping to the max during sex is also fun and an experience for your partner.
I don't on here as much as I'd like to, so if you have a question that you would like answered sooner than later, feel free to email me.
