27/M here. Recall a few times in the past when feeling a bend and some mild pain during masturbation/sex, having to stop, and few hours later everything working okay again. Recently had an incident where my penis got bent pretty bad during intercourse, it hurt bad, and had to stop. GF drove me to ER. Penis was not blue or purple but they said the only way to tell if I broke it was to operate.

So they degloved my penis around my circumcision scar, found nothing, and stitched me up, good as new. 5 weeks have gone by and minus some swelling, I'm doing pretty good. They told me they noticed I seemed to curve a bit to the left when they saline induced erection during surgery. I never really noticed this.

My doctor just cleared me to begin using my penis again. It's still a bit swollen but doing much better. Erections are fine but I'm noticing a more pronounced bend to the left than before. I'm not sure if this is exacerbated by skin swelling on the same side as the bend that will improve or signs of Peyronies. I don't have any pain. My doctor said it is possible that I could have micro-fractured and it could potentially be Peyronies. I've made an appt with him for Monday.

I guess my questions are:
1. How would I know congenital vs. Peyronies?
2. Is a major change in 1 month since an 'incident' that realistic?
3. Does this bend put me at higher risk for penile fracture, and is it possible I've actually been micro-fracturing myself all along? Would like to get my girl back on top, but don't feel like any more penile exploration surgeries. It's been a long month, y'all.
4. Is there anything I should be asking my doctor to do when I see him?

Thanks very much friends.

You are born with a congenital curve. But many guys grow up thinking "that is just me" and that is fine. Mild curves don't cause any problems and aren't anything to worry about. Best thing is to take a picture of yourself and just watch for any ongoing changes.

Many guys experience a peyronies curve almost overnight or over a few days. But the incident can occur weeks or months before hand.

I don't think you are at higher risk of fracture, but you are at risk for further trauma. Trauma doesn't necessarily = fracture. You need to be careful. And as much as we may all enjoy the 'cowgirl' position, it is the most risky for causing trauma as you little to any control of the situation. As experienced by the earlier incident you mentioned.

Your doctor might be able to help determine a congenital vs. peyronies curve. But you need to find a peyronies specialist. Many urologists heard of or studied about peyronies in med school, but they have little experience in how to treat it.

Thanks for your input. I greatly appreciate it. Seriously buddy.

At this point, my curvature does not seem any different from before, and I am not having any pain at all. I did see a Peyronie's specialist but, although a specialist, I did not feel that he really listened to me. Wants me to schedule an ultrasound/doppler, but since this has happened before and not resulted in an 'acute phase' post-trauma, I am skeptical that I am truly experiencing this issue.

I have, however, had two urologists palpate my junk as of lately and tell me they did not feel anything concerning.

How necessary is the ultrasound/doppler in diagnosis?

Several of the leading experts do an ultrasound as standard procedure.
