Apologies if this is the wrong section.....
Having seen a good improvement in my partners Peyronies Disease , we have applied for nhs fertility treatment. We have our appointment on the 16th, but have been doing preliminary tests leading up to it.

Since my partner started to show symptoms of Peyronies Disease, we have noticed his ejaculate has decreased a lot...probably by 70% we think.  We have just been informed his sperm test has come back as zero! We were prepared for low, (10 million is classed as low!) but zero was a bit of a shock. Is anyone aware of this being linked to peyronies? Reading up online, it seems a zero count can be caused by blockage of the part of the sperm tube....could this be Peyronies Disease related? A lot of his penile tissue I guess you'd call it seems to of almost been pushed backwards into his groin, it's at its thickest there where it never used to be.

Of course hopefully the specialists can help with this question but I would like a little knowledge to pre arm myself in case they try to blame it on his diet or some such thing, couldn't find anything online so far, thank you in advance  :)

Well the best way to determine this would be to retrieve some sperm straight from the source surgically, but no doubt the NHS has a strict process of investigation that you will need to follow.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

I was treated when young for the same problem with drugs. I don't remember what.
I have a friend that after the doc told him and his wife that he will never have children and adopted one, his wife got pregnant from him (100% from him) and they had twins.
Also sometimes the test are going wrong.
So have hope

meg,
I don't see how it could be related to Peyronies. Semen (ejaculate fluid) is mostly comprised of fluids from the prostate and other glands. Sperm travel trough the vas deferens (sperm tubes) from the testicles to the prostate as well. So maybe the reduced ejaculate is due to some constriction or pressure although I don't know what this would be or what would cause it. But I would also expect a low(er) sperm count. I'm wondering if his sperm count have maybe been zero for a long time, or maybe has always been zero. You can have lots of ejaculate and no sperm (ask any man who has had a vasectomy.

So were there any prior sperm count test? Do you have any evidence that his count was ever higher?

Thanks for the replies, we are trying to stay positive.
There were no prior tests, however we have been doing some armchair biology research (and probably getting it all mixed up! ) and the vasectomy point is one we considered, as it seems the tube leading from the testes, storing the sperm, is the one that is 'snipped' , before it reaches the area that stores the semen where they mix , then out along the shaft...this tube seems to run quite close to the base of the penis -going by diagrams-and was the one we thought had possibly become kinked or blocked through pressure? Blockage seems to be something that is part of what they investigate routinely in fertility problems.
It's just strange how he has had so little ejaculate since all this, they did do a procedure at the start to open up his tubes but this was just the area within the actual penis.

Anyway hopefully it will be clearer at the meeting we have and we can stop driving ourselves mad!

On a side note, if your partner starts taking pentox it may increase fertility. Pentox is a known booster of sperm motility (my wife got pregnant with our daughter while I was taking it). However, this requires the presence of healthy sperm to be effective. Good luck!

Thanks, that's interesting! I guess that's a thing to speak to the docs about!
