I am close to finalizing the insurance stuff so it should be happening sometime soon. Anyway unless I'm looking in the wrong place, I haven't seen anyone post about recently having the injections done since it was approved in December.  Of course I am fishing for success stories (ha) but I'm more curious than anything.  Thanks

I will have my first xiaflex injection this Tuesday, and plan to post my experience.

I received my first xiaflex injection this morning.  It hurt a little, but I have no pain now.  Had to pay $400 out of pocket for procedure, but drug was covered by insurance.  Second injection scheduled.  Doctor gave me modelling/stretching procedure to perform daily.  So far so good.

If you don't mind me asking, which insurance carrier covered this drug for you? Private, work related plan, or medicare?

Sorry James, never put together why you all put the posters name first and then your reply...just assumed it was personal preference. :) Thanks Pintor for the response.

Oh great to hear.  I am looking at about a month from now for my appointment.  So, can you run down exactly what I should expect when I go in?  Also are there any immediate results? Just very curious to see how a messed up looking bend/indent will suddenly look any different.  All details help! Thanks again

Pintor,

Did you still have any pain or active plaques before the incections?

pintor

I did not have pain.  Not sure what you mean by active plaques?  I definitely have plaque, stable I think, probably ~5mm or bigger near base of penis, causing 38degree curve to left.  No pain or irritation following first two injections, which surprises me.

I just had my first two injections this week.  Injections were relatively painless, slight bruising, have been doing the stretch modeling.  I haven't had an erection to do the other kind of modeling.  My curvature is about 30 degrees near the head.

On first injection the Auxilium representative was actually there and observed the injections -- not sure what value it brings but anything for science.

Would love to hear reports from people further into the injections.

Any details on what exactly they do, start to finish?
