So can Pentox make you worse?

My uro has perscribed me Pentox. I am going to start on Tuesday after I get my prescription from the pharmacy.  I'm supposed to come back to him in a month for a doppler ultrasound, but I think he told me that 30% get better, 30% stay the same and 30% get worse. I think he was referring to Pentox.

I'm still going to take it, but I'm getting anxious that I hopefully will not be in the percentile that will get worse.  I have 0% curvature and no pain in my erection, still have great sex, so if I were to develop a curve because of Pentox I would be crushed  :-[

I just don't understand how Pentox would make you worse. My uro checked and said I have a very small plaque, and that I am lucky it is so minimal.  How could pentox, a drug that is there to help get blood to that plaque and break it down, make it worse?!

Pentox will not make you to develop a curve.
If a curve is developing while on Pentox it means it was much worst if not on Pentox.
By the way, if you will invest time and read much as you can about Pentox on the forum you will agree with my above sentences.

That's what I thought. That's why I'm confused by what my uro said, if i understood him right. I can't scientifically see how Pentox would make my condition worse right now, unless of course it got worse on its own at the same time I start taking it which would be a coincidence, but as you and I have discussed in PM's you know I only have an hourglass effect on the right side.

Right now i'm not developing a curve necessarily, just have an hourglass that I believe has been getting a lil worse over the 4 months I've had it.

If anything, I suspect your Uro was talking about percentages in general for men with Peyronie's, not men taking Pentox.

Regarding hourglasses, I had three, all disappeared with VED, Pentox, low dose Cialis and Ubiquinol.

I can understand this concern totally. When one doesn't have a bad case one does not want to risk making things worse. If there is no curve, bad shortening etc.. yet. I'm basically in the same boat with no deformity. It's different if I had deformity, bad shortening I wouldn't think about it for a second and take as much Pentox as my body could tolerate, indefinitely and everything else I could get my hands on with even the most minor promise of effectiveness.

I would like to add to this conversation my private experience with Peyronies.
My Peyronies progresses very slowly with no pain (except short mild pain after the accident that started my Peyronies) during three years. I waited that the symptoms will disappear alone. I lost 6.5 cm length and half of the girth, left bent, banana shape and hourglasses. ED developed also slowly.
I am sure if I was starting the treatment of VED, Pentox, low dose Cialis and Ubiquinol from the start as preventing treatment, my situation today was very different.
In my opinion, don't need to wait for the deformities to appear before starting treatment.
In most cases, the treatment will help you stopping the progress of the disease.

I understand James. Makes sense why you would think starting treatment early would help.

Question: Being that i'm 20, would it still be necessary for me to take low dose daily Cialis? And I will be considering VED therapy soon after I meet up with my urologist in a month.

emasculated

Peyronies tends after a while to attack the corpus Cavernosum, I read that in some dissertation. So daily Cialis makes sense to prevent corporal fibrosis. Very healthy for the penis. I take it as often as I can.. sadly I can't take it daily because then my blood pressure drops extremely and I sleep 15 hours while still being tired afterwards. But most guys tolerate it well. Take it in the evening.

my Peyronies Disease onset was more than 1 year ago and I did not have any deformity till 3 months ago. now I am thinking if I started oral treatment early maybe I could prevent some deformity (bottleneck); Peyronies Disease have no defined and standard cycle and curvature is not the only possible deformity; in my case it started with a very small dent which suddenly during 1,5 month became a bottleneck. your are so lucky that your plaque is very small but you should do whatever can helps prevent its grow and i think pentox is one of them.
the percentages is about general Peyronies Disease patients. my doctor said me the same (I'm worry about the rest 10% who nobody talk about them ;) ).
we are not doctor but I do not think pentox can make your condition worse.

james1947

If no ED, 2.5 mg daily Cialis is just fine.
Emasculated, I had the same low blood pressure problem with Cialis, my blood pressure is low in any case for my age (120/80; 110/70) but increasing the dosage gradually from 2.5 mg every 2 days to 5 mg daily today solved the problem. Still can't even think to take 20 mg.

james, I already have trouble with 2.5 mg daily. That's why I'm scared of taking Pentox, cause it's also a vasodilator. Even though it would probably benefit me. The Potaba just is too weak for me.

james1947

Pentox is not really a vasodilator. Pentox make the red blood cells flexible to be able to get into the narrower blood vessels and supply the oxygen to all those "far" places.

Today was my first day taking pentox.
2 x a day at 400mg
before i took it, i read the side effects. I am the type of person who will then expect the side effects, and even anticipate them, almost expecting them.
I took each one with a decent sized meal, first at 1030am and then at 5pm. I got a headache after the 2nd one, either by coincidence or me causing it because i am expecting it.
Can pentox even cause that to happen that fast? Or is it all in my head
oh and will my body get used to it possibly and it wont affect me?

james1947

I started taking 400 mg in the morning, increased to 2*400 mg after 10 days and then to 3*400 mg per day.
My body get used to it and after a month were no side effects.
I had to stop after 18 months because it weakened my immune system, this is one of Pentox side effects.

It's usually smart to ease into any kind of medication or supplement. There is is always the possibility of allergies or other idiosyncratic reactions.

As to mild headaches or nausea, I tend to get these effects from almost any pill I swallow. Ginger is the only remedy I have found--especially ginger tea.

I've been taking Pentox for about two weeks and am wondering if it's causing me more harm than good.

The first few days, flaccids seemed fuller. And after working out and using a sauna, I had a spontaneous erection and the penis expanded to a larger size than I'd seen in over a year.

Needless to say, I was excited. But then after ejaculation about a week in after 60 min of masturbating, I had a lot of pain after the pentox had helped w pain reduction.

A couple days later, after ejaculation, I had a bunch of skin droop on the underside of the penis with pain, which is what's happened when I've had big bouts with pain and flare ups of Peyronie's.now there's lots of pain/stinging on the underside of my penis with nocturnal erections. And the penis is also very cold at times, more so than before.

So my long story short question is - is pentox making me worse off? My Peyronie's is irritated by Cialis and pentox seems to be doing the same thing. I wonder if it causes the tissue that has been hampered by the scar tissue to expand greater than it has for awhile, causing inflammation and flare ups? Who knows ugh.

If it continues maybe consider going off for a period to see if it goes away.  Then restart at a lower dose and if no problems work you're way up to the regular dose, watching for it to return. This is all so hit and miss given the little that is known about the disease and it's treatment.

Thanks tsanchez, appreciate it.

Every time I pee, the underside of my penis has a sharp stinging pain and it gets worse with nocturnal erections. Having trouble sleeping and keep waking up from the pain. Just hope it's not beginning yet another acute phase.

Be careful of getting a doppler done by your doctor.

They use an injection with trimix or bimix in it. That alone can give you Peyronies Disease. Happened to me. = /

Consider not masturbating for 60 minutes, try to take that down to 5min and gently?

same symptoms while using pentox. What is your age?

Christopher1, did you get peyronies from one trimix injection or multiple shots (that's what happened to me).

Happened after 12 or so shots. Perhaps less.

Mine was after many more than that.  Did you keep pressure on the injection site for 8 minutes after?  I only did until the outside bleeding stop and Dr Lue said that's what caused it as I hadn't stopped the internal bleeding before the erection brought in more blood and thus trauma and peyronies.

I did not keep pressure at the site.

My urologist never instructed me to do so. He was literally in and out the door within 2 minutes. a$$hole. He made my life miserable. Wish I never met that man.

Yeah - wish I had Dr. Lue.

Urologists need to be more careful, especially when it comes to a guy's junk. It's just too personal. And all I could do was talk very badly about the doctor on Yelp. But now I have to deal with this. I am making good progress though. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks Christopher1.  I'm trying to decide if I can go back on trimix if I follow his instructions, it's all that works at this point but I don't want to aggravate the peyronies. He says it shouldn't if I'm careful to apply the pressure for the full 8 mins.
