Has anyone noticed this about Pentox and the users in this forum?

After being recently diagnosed, I've been doing some heavy research around here regarding pentox and the results users have had on these forums.
Initially, I was very excited to see people saying positive things despite a few claiming pentox made them worse off.

But after looking at each user who had something positive to say, I've noticed a disappointing trend:

-The majority of positive accounts from a few years back are followed up with the users discussing symptoms worsening, and/or getting implant options.

-It also seems as though the only people who've really benefited from VED options are older men (such as "old man") who's plaques have calcified.

-A few users claim to have "restored girth" after using pentox, only to later mention there girth has shrunk. These same users also took L-Arginine at the same time, which for me has an immediate effect on increasing blood flow and girth size. I feel like pentox may be getting some credit for that, which makes me wonder if its really doing much.

-There are literally no "before and after" pictures for users using pentox. If the drug really helps in any way, or at the very least prevents further damage...wouldn't someone around here want to document it?

I hate to be so pessimistic, but is there anything on the horizon that's coming?

I'm only 23, and all these treatment options seem pretty terrible. The idea of having an implant is out of the question, I honestly would rather give up on sex and than have some kind of mechanically infused pump-up dildo at my age. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do NOT talk negatively about pentox here. It's proven to help...  by a study!!

Our forum research I had made some two years ago (attached doc) shows different than your statements.
PENTOX effect on Peyronie's - Forum Experience - Peyronies Society Forums
I didn't made a research regarding VED benefits, but from reading on the forum all the posts many members are stating benefits.
You are invited to make a revision to the Pentox document (to include all the new posts regarding Pentox from March 27, 2012, 10:07:20 PM) and make a forum research regarding VED including all the posts regarding VED to get some clear answer.

Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

It's understandable to feel frustrated with the treatments available. In my case, I found Pentox very beneficial. Here's the TL;DR:

- Got Peyronie's due to an injury during sex at age 29.
- Started on Pentox within 4-5 months of noticing symptoms because of this forum.
- My Peyronie's symptoms were shrinkage, hourglassing, pain and minor curvature.
- Pentox took away the pain in a few weeks.
- I saw physical symptom improvements after about 6 months on Pentox. I took it for a total of 8 months.

That was 5 years ago. I have continued to see improvement during that time. I am 90-95% of where I was pre-disease for both length and girth. I have before pictures but I have not taken after pictures. I am not currently comfortable showing dick pics on the internet; sorry gents, you'll have to take my word for it.

Pentox is not a miracle cure and it will not work for everyone. Pentox is cheap, has fewer side effects than potaba, and has some promising studies behind it. This is an awful, terrible and heartbreaking condition but we shouldn't lose hope and refuse to try proven drugs.

There have been posts of some users who tried Pentox and it didn't work for them. But I'm not sure I accept the statement that the "majority" fall into that category.

Pentox alone is not a cure. It is always recommended to use Pentox along with other therapies. Pentox primarily is used to address pain during the acute phase of the disease and to improve blood flow to the penis. There would be very few accounts of Pentox alone curing anyone and may be what lead you to your "majority" of users comment. This I would understand.

While traction and VED use is not easy and requires some discipline, I would rather try these less invasive treatments before jumping to the surgery conclusion.

So I think you will find here that the majority of men who have improved and/or restored their sexual performance did so using a combination of therapies and were willing to follow through and do whatever it takes including surgery as a last result.

I think you should look through the forum more carefully. But, if you're 23, I suppose almost everyone will seem like 'older men' to you.

In addition, I note that it seems sensible to me that if something can help reverse calcified plaques, it would have an even better effect before calcification takes place. I am willing to be corrected, but I believe the general consensus around here is that these therapies are more effecive earlier in the process rather than later.

From that statement, I assume that you don't have a long-term relationship. I think you'd feel differently if you did.

When judging the effectiveness of Peyronie's treatments, I would also take into account that some of us are doing quite well and for that reason simply don't often visit the forum or post anymore, but rather are just getting on with our lives.  On the other hand those few who have not been able to find a solution for whatever reason, and I am convinced that unfortunately there are those like that out there, they are on here a lot sharing their pain over and over and that can be very discouraging and disheartening for everyone.  I would be the last person to say that people in this condition should not be doing that and I would absolutely encourage them to continue sharing their pain, but I would not interpret that to mean everyone ends up in that situation.

I contracted Peyronie's around 10 years ago and for me, discovering Pentox was life changing.  A lot of people here were going on about how good it was, but I resisted it until Acetyl L Carnitine stopped working for me only to end up wishing I had switched to Pentox a whole lot sooner.  Now I am off Pentox and very stable.  I am using some CoQ10.  I found through experience that Pentox and CoQ10 (in the form of Ubiquitol) were a dynamic combination for me and highly recommend their concurrent use.  But if you are 23, you are going to have a lot of options that most of us did not have access to.  You have a lot of time ahead of you and there ARE going to be breakthroughs, I guarantee that.  Things are only going to get better because not only are researchers now working on Peyronie's on a global scale, but guys on this forum are trying all sorts of things and some of those things will prove beneficial without doubt.  The popularization of Pentoxifylline happened, in fact, largely because of this very forum.  My personal experience with Pentoxifylline was instrumental in convincing my own urologist to get on the Pentox bandwagon and begin offering it to his patients.  And that all originated right here on this forum.  So don't fall into the depression trap, because it is based on a lie.  Instead look to the future with hope, because a lot of us care a lot about guys like you and for that reason things are better now than they were a few years ago and things are going to continue to get better.  Be thankful this didn't happen to you at the time it happened to the guys who pioneered this forum when all they got was vitamin pills, but they didn't take that for an answer and instead went in search of better treatments (like VED for example), and believe me, the old guys around here know what they are talking about when they make treatment recommendations so don't just flip them off by assuming they haven't really received any benefit from those treatments.

how could you know if they did not take pentox their worsening (if there is) would not be more??

Pentox absolutely saved me. I stopped using it about 6 months ago as everything was working perfectly.

Let my diet and exercise really slip, got back into that inflammatory mode and would you know it all of a sudden the hourglassing is visible again and morning wood is not happening all that often. Got back on pentox (and ALC and coq10) and things are getting back to normal.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Hey, skunkworks--can I ask how long were you on Pentox before you discontinued, and what dose? And how soon after the Petronie's began did you start?

(Please PM me if you don't feel like broadcasting this info.)

NeoV

VED gave me pretty outstanding results and I'm only 27.
Of course I don't have pics from before unfortunately.

The other thing is that implants aren't as bad as you think, it's still very much your penis, they are pretty damn amazing from what I see and read.

I think with the pentox you really just have to go off the research, I have a hard time taking oral supplements for the same reason, I don't feel like they are doing anything. Still, anything with good studies is worth it.
