Greetings All;

New member but was a guest for a few weeks reading and studying. Kudos to the long standing members whose thoughtful and experienced advice gave me the comfort to take my Uro up on this therapy after I turned down large dosages of Vitamin E or Potaba as a solution to arrest further damage. I'm in my first week and so far I've gotten past the shock and focusing on doing it right and slow and following the 26 week protocol.

I'm a 54 year old man recently married (2nd marriage after being widowed 10 years ago) to a beautiful and understanding women I've been with for many years. My great fortune is she is on board and helpful emotionally and otherwise with the VED treatment.

I'm just starting (literally) and Friday night was my first time with the VED using the C cylinder and minimum negative pressure with a manual device while on <10mg dose of Levitra. We used it for sex the first time to make it less awkward but only had 5-6 clicks on pump since I was mostly erect already. After three sessions with the C tube I started the regular protocol today.

My Peyronies came on after a sex injury (actually two) about a year ago when she was on top and I slipped out and came to a sudden hard stop. No pun here. This had happened before over the years but this was worse than any other time and it hurt and I couldn't climax afterwards. A lump developed a week or two later and I sought the advice of my Urologist who I mostly saw for kidney stones and gout. He diagnosed it and said the goal was to keep it from getting worse. It occurred a few months before our wedding so to say I was disappointed would be a huge understatement.

Over the past year the curvature became more pronounced (aprox 45 degrees abruptly an inch down the shaft after head of my penis with an hour glass effect at same point. In the last few months I noticed (and my wife commented about it) the lost of length. Like a 15yr old I measured my erect manhood and laws shocked to learn I had lost almost 1.5 inches. I'm otherwise average (or was) in length and perhaps a little above in girth (can't use A Cly without extreme discomfort).

My Uro recommended the Augusta 3 Cly option which I bought for a discounted rate of $350. Insurance would not cover without extensive documentation and procedures that would have cost in co-pays at least as much. Used my HSA card hope they don't give me a hard time later.

Based on reading this Forum and the wonderful and honest advice I'm encouraged to start this journey. Will check in from time to time to report my progress and concerns. If I got one message from all of you (especially Old Man) it is to go slow, go safe (avoid over pumping) and go steady over the long run. It came on over a year so it will take 6-12 months to bend the curve and try to get back most of what I lost. Wish me luck and let me say in advance THANKS to all who care.

PS -  with the B Cyl I pump 10 times and hold for 10-15 seconds, rest, repeat 9 times. In a non stimulated condition this seems to be a good start but would appreciate any advice to know when it's enough as I fear greatly any further injury to my fragile man-member.  :)

Richard,
There are many of us on the forum who care and is why we are here. You case sounds like so many here. Accident during sex, overnight symptoms, etc. Welcome but sorry you are here.

The expert on VED usage here is Old Man. Feel free to send him a message as he is happy to offer advice.

Thank you Les. This forum was a godsend and I have read many posts from Old Man. I'm in my third week and very encouraged already but know I have to prepare for slow incremental progress and keep from over pumping. I'm seen immediate progress in girth but my real goal is the hourglass point and more on reducing the severe dorsal curve.

I appreciate your welcome and hope to get to where you are ... Past this!

Rob,
Let me also welcome you. This group of guys will help you all along this journey. Your accident is probably the classic cause of penile injury and resulting Peyronies Disease. It is just so easy for it to happen from that sex position. If only we had known that beforehand. But you are approaching this with the proper attitude and that will take you a long way toward improvement. I say improvement because there is no cure for this ailment, not even surgery is the cure. There is only improvement, some conciliation and, hopefully, a reasonably normal sex life. You can overcome this and have a good life. But as has been said before, it is a marathon, not a sprint. Dedicate yourself to getting better and you will. Many here have improved to the point of having no outward symptoms of Peyronies Disease. You can be one of them.

Thank you Norm. I appreciate the encouragement and support.

I'm blessed with a wife who is extremely supportive and wonderful about the whole thing.

All the best.
