Hi,

I have been taking ubiquinol now for about 3 weeks and just wondering if it could potentially worsen my condition? I read that 10% of people who take pentox could actually be worse off when taking that drug. Just wondering if something like that is possible with coq10 or ubiquinol too? Is this possible that the "cure" could worsen things in some people? Thanks

NeoV

That seems very unlikely.. But I don't know.

Before hopping on the coQ10 and pentox boat, as useful as they may be, check out your basic health first. Blood sugar, vitamin D blood level, and other stuff. Make sure your covering your bases before filling in the top of the pyramid. Taking only a few super supplements while having low vitamin D or other vitamins would be in all likeliness more devastating than having a good diet and not taking the supers.

Granted, you did not ask this question and I am off the mark with these comments. I don't think they will worsen the issue though! : /

I'm sorry you are seeing a kind of worsening.. Make sure to take care during sex and masturbation, it's what makes it or breaks it for me.

james1947

Very unlikely as NeoV has said that CoQ10 will make things worst.
Regarding the 10% you are mentioning that people got worst on Pentox I don't agree.
In my opinion they symptoms were even worst if they were not using Pentox.
Getting worst is a natural progress in Peyronies disease.

I agree with James.  Sometimes guys start on Pentox and things suddenly get worse.  In all likelihood, if they had not started with Pentox, the turn for the worse could have been even more devastating.  Peyronie's is like that.  It can suddenly get worse for no reason at any point in time.  That said, I also have to agree with Neo.  Vitamin D serum levels and diet are also crucially important.  If you suddenly eat a large amount of inflammatory food, that could certainly light your Peyronie's on fire.  The same could happen with a critical drop in vitamin D levels.  You have to cover all the bases, not only for the sake of Peyonie's, but to prevent all the other nasty diseases that will come your way if you don't fix the underlying problem.  - George

Thanks guys so nobody has ever reported getting worse on coq10? Just wondering. Is there any way it could make it worse that anyone can think of? I am not sure if im worsening or not....I took coq10 as a precaution thats all.

BTW I am taking 50mg of Ubiquinol twice a day. Could this worsen my condition or am I being paranoid?

You are not getting it.  Guys DO get worse, sometimes much worse, on Ubiquinol.  That does NOT mean the Ubiquinol is causing them to get worse.  If I get an infection and it gets worse even though I am taking an antibiotic, does that mean the antibiotic is making it worse?  That is really stupid reasoning, because it ignores the face that the infection might be resistant to the antibiotic and stopping the antibiotic is only going to make it even more worse.  The same is true of Peyronie's.  It can become worse when taking Ubiquinol, but it is NOT the Ubiquinol that is causing it to get worse.  By stopping the Ubiquinol, things will only get worse than they were before.  And the effective dose for Ubiquinol is 300mg per day, not 100mg.  So you are not even getting enough Ubiquinol to make a difference anyway.

Thanks George999. I first got peyronies back about 7 years ago. It became stable and even got to the point where my penis was 90% normal again. I stupidly had sex with a girl when I was drunk about 2-3 months ago and when she was on top I head a "pop" or "click" sound. It did not hurt nor leave a bruise or anything. But the thing is I felt the pressure came from my peyronies area on my penis.

I kinda panicked and thought this could have "reactivated" my peyronies. But taking coq10 was just a precaution. I did not notice the little dent area getting bigger or anything. But now im not sure if im just over anyalizing my penis but im worried the dent may be getting bigger. Im just thinking maybe I should have let things be because I bet the popping noise did not do damage since there was no pain or bruise afterwards. Could taking a too small dose of ubniqol be bad too? Or perhaps its just not making a difference at all? I totally understand what you are saying George though. I am more worried that maybe taking this could worsen things since ive been stable so long....it could "touch" my condition again and activate it. Hope that makes sense.

BTW I am taking healthy orgins Ubiquinol. I notice on the back it says Ubiquinol (Kaneka QH*)

What does this mean? I hope this is the right kind :)

George999

Healthy Origins is fine.  And there is no way that Ubiquinol is going to "reactivate" your Peyronie's.  You DO need to take enough of it though if you really want it to work.  And, in relation to alcoholic beverages, you need to seriously rethink your lifestyle.  Drinking to the point of getting drunk will NOT do your Peyronie's any good, physiologically, psychologically or in terms of enhancing your judgement as to how you use your penis.  And if you don't deal with this issue, you are going to end up with problems that will make Peyronie's seem like a cake walk.  So think about that and quit worrying about silly things like Ubiquinol risks.  Your real enemy is your lifestyle issues.  That is what you need to worry about and deal with.  And don't be afraid to ask help from your doctor if necessary either.  Alcohol addictions can be caused by nutritional issues also.  Don't hide in denial.  IF you are getting drunk on occasion, you have a problem with alcohol and it is not just going to go away.  You are going to have to deal with it.  I wish you the very best.  You are obviously a very bright young man with a lot of potential, don't waste it.  - George

Thanks George999. I do not really drink anymore. Last time I drank was when the incident happened. Before that I had a dry spell of over 2 years. I do not have a problem I do not think. I am not drinking any time soon either. I just went to a party and decided to drink that night. Of course I end up meeting a girl that night. I am not sure if reactivated this or not....I got some great erections today and the dent seemed a bit less. I really notice that if you can keep getting good erections it seems to stretch the dent area out. I could just be being paranoid and the pop sound I heard did no damage at all. I might still be stable :)

Its hard to tell at this point. I have not examined my penis this closely in a long time. So the dent may look worse then I remember simply because its been a while since ive looked very closely like this. I asked about the Ubiquinol making it worse simply because for anything to be "cured" there needs to be a action. Maybe my peyronies has been lying stable for the last 5 years and this "action" could wake it up. But you do not think this is likely huh? I guess you do not "reactivate" a scar right?

George999

You know from what you have read here that the two most effective oral treatments are Ubiquinol and Pentoxifylline.  If I were you, I would try to get on both of them.  They are absolutely your best bet for resolving this.  I myself "woke up" my Peyronie's as one point while on Pentox.  Adding Ubiquinol to the Pentox stopped the problem in its tracks.  I think you are on the right track.  But get your Ubiquinol dosage up to 300mg and add Pentox as well if at all possible.  - George

NeoV

There are too many factors in peyronies..

For me like I said, it has only to do with my erection quality and how I use my penis.

Have you got a VED? If not, I highly recommend it.

George you mean you were stable before taking Pentox and then it got worse after taking Pentox? Is that what you mean? I am confused.....so then my concern could be valid if this happened to you right? Thanks

BTW....I have not tried the VED yet but I think I might soon.

George999

It got worse because I injured myself while on Pentox.  That is NOT the fault of Pentox.  ADDING Ubiquinol to Pentox stopped the new inflammation in its tracks.  BOTH Pentox and Ubiquinol ARE effective and will NOT make Peyronie's worse.  Got it?  - George

Thanks George999. I actually just had sex with a girl last night. She wanted to be on top real bad so I let her. Didn't really notice any pain or anything like that during the act. Everything seemed to go well. We actually had sex 2 times during our session. I was not drinking or anything but I have noticed my penis "aches" a little. Nothing extreme but I hope I did not re injure myself or something.

Nothing looks any different and maybe it's because I "finished" 2 times in the same session? I am just thinking this boils down to having too long of sex. Because my second time around it took most likely over 30 mins to finish. So in other words I had an erection for at least 45 mins total during this sex. I think thats why my penis might feel a little sore/achy.

God....this sucks. Am I going to have to worry about re injuring myself every time? Girl on top is my favorite position. Should I continue this or is it too risky with the girl on top position? Im sure I will be seeing her again some time and she will want to be on top again im sure too.

George999

Only you know the answer to this question.  If whatever you are doing results in things getting worse, then it would be wise to discontinue doing it.  There are real advantages to long term relationships (otherwise known as marriage) in that the partner is aware of and sympathetic to the needs of the other.  One night stands and other temporary arrangements generally don't work that way and thus tend to present considerably more risk in general.  Those are the equations you need to weigh and work out.  - George

The two most dangerous sexual positions for a man with peyronies is girl on top or from behind. It is easy for her to get carried away and let you slip out and then reenter in the wrong positron and hurt you.

Make a game of it with her. Put a pillow under the girl's butt, this changes the angle and allows for better penetration and movement.  As always have a rigid erection and a good lube to prevent futher injury.  My wife and I have used it for over 20 years and all the couples that try it really like it.

Thanks guys. Jack so girl on top is risky unless I do the pillow trick? The most risky part is her coming up and down....and basically pulling out and landing on my penis right?

jackp

Yes the risky part of girl on top is her pulling out and landing on your penis. If you have ever had that happen and she landed on her pubic bone, it hurts!
The pillow trick is used in the missionary position, boy on top. You will be supprised how well it works for both the boy and girl. A lot less risky of pulling out and coming down on your penis. Don't run out to a sex shop and buy a pillow an ordinary bed pillow works just great.
