Introducing myself and my percussive maintenance technique

Hi guys,

My name is Peter, from South Africa, 57 years old.

My penis has always had a bit of a curve to the left, but well within what seems like normal range. About 4 months ago I noticed some pain during nocturnal erections, and some sudden loss of erection during sex. Shortly thereafter the pain stopped, but a rapid development of plaque on the top of the shaft midway along the penis produced the curve of about 25 degrees. Research on this site and others informed that it was peyronies for which I sought confirmation from my GP, who referred me to a urologist who told me basically there was not much they could do other than give me vitamin E and surgery at some later stage if there was no progress. The usual stuff that you guys all know about.

So, I took matters in hand and figured reduction of the plaque would be my number 1 priority. A penis pump seems handy in producing a rapid erection, but I don't have too much of a problem with that, so it is pretty much a toy. After a week of messing about with that without any effect, I then got hold of some Bio-oil and started massaging that in directly on to the plaque. At one stage I was plagued with an osteocyte (bone spur) in my shoulder joint which was also put down to incurable other than via surgery. However I managed to sort that out by banging on it (I kid you not) with a hammer. Not hammering like a mad man, but a few taps every day for a week or so, was enough to break up the spur and give me mobility without pain. That inspired me to try doing the same for the peyronies plaque. Obviously I wasn't going to attack my penis with a hammer, so I got hold of a pestle - that thing you use to grind up spices. It is pretty light, weighs about as much as a hair-brush which I reckon would also work. Every time I go to the toilet, about 4 times a day, I rub some Bio-oil on and tap the plaque with the pestle; enough to shock it, but not to the point where it is painful.

Much to my relief, the plaque reduced by 70% in the first week alone. I still have a curvature of about 15 degrees, but only at full erection when constricting the base. Otherwise it is about 10 degrees. This is the second week of 'percussive maintenance' should we call it on my penis, and the last 30% of the plaque is still there, but at least it is softer.

In a few weeks, I'll check back and let you know how it is going. Of course this is just anecdotal evidence, perhaps the plaque was going to get smaller anyway, but it does seem to me that the percussion has broken up most of the plaque. I wouldn't try that of course if it is painful. Has anybody else tried the same?

Good luck to everyone out there. This damn disease has left me looking like a bloody wonky donkey. Not easy on the ego to live with.

This is the best laugh I've had all day, I have to thank you Zardoz, and apologize because I think you are being 100% honest about this. Your post actually brought me out of a bad slump I've been having this morning (haven't had coffee yet!). I'm honestly not sure what to say about your percussion technique, or the bone spur and the hammer for that matter. Either way, I appreciate your post.

Welcome to the forums, and I'm damn sorry you have peyronies. South Africa eh? I hope to go there some day. I live in Tokyo but am from the US.

Have you tried a VED protocol? Meaning, have you attempted VED as a therapy, rather than as a method to get an erection? We all use the VED here as a daily therapy, which can reverse the symptoms quite a bit. Never over pump of course. How about traction? Have you tried traction? Good luck and hope to see some improvement from your case.

Okay, I did write my post in a light vein, and it's good for you that you got a laugh. Being side lined off to the "On the lighter side" is a bit of a slap in the face though.

To be honest, peyronies has been a huge blow to my ego, and has come at a time when my partner of 8 years is considering leaving me. She is away overseas for 3 months, and we haven't had sex for at least 6 months. So yeah, that didn't pay to be humorous.

You can can me from this group, I won't be back.
