Has anyone considered or had surgery by a doctor who could do all 3 surgeries at once. Since you typically lose length for Peyronie's, wouldn't it make sense to have these done at the same time?

I came across a doctor who does all of these and he even does venous leakage repair.

Please check him out and share your thoughts:

Matt

With all I know about peyronies and implants I would not let this doctor touch me in a million years. His implant is over 10 years old, and you always have an erection.

Most urologist and Male Sexual Function Specialist do not recommend cutting the suspensory ligament. At most you will gain 1/2" but you penis will always hang down, look at your feet. I have chatted with a few that had it done and regret Erectile Dysfunction it. Your penis will never stand up again.

Venous Leakage repair has been tried by some the most famous doctors and abandoned, it does not work.

His videos and pictures are drawings.  I could go on and on. My advice is DON'T.

Jackp, thanks for the feedback.

I think that the Suspensory Ligament Release Procedure is optional but I will ask the doctor when I speak to him about it. Thank you for pointing that out since I've been aware of that process for many years and I'm am very much opposed to it.

While you will not be walking around with a full erection all the time, you will definitely be maintaining a "chubby" 24 hours/day. I'm not so sure that's a bad thing.  ;)

I guess the saddest part is to read that venous leakage surgery doesn't work. More than anything, I hoped that would work.

I appreciate your thoughts.

Matt

The men I chat with that have a semi rigid implant say it is not comfortable. Always trying to hide there penis.  Of all implants it is has the least favorable rating. I have chatted with some men in Europe that have had something similar with a 24 hour "chubby"  and they say it is uncomfortable and does not feel natural.

I had severe venous leakage! Along with peyronies and corporal fibrosis.  With the 3 piece AMS 700 LGX you can not look at me and tell I have an implant. My flaccid size is normal and I have regained 90% of my loss to peyronies. For sex I feel normal and my wife says I feel normal to her.

There is a story on my blog from a gentleman that had 2 non length expanding implants. He now has the AMS 700 LGX he tells of how it feels much more normal to him and his wife than the others.

I will tell you that about 16 months after my implant surgery my glans started to become erect again. Now that my corpus cavernosum's do not need blood flow to become erect the blood flow has redirected to my corpus sponglosum. This is the only thing I know that works for venous leakage.

I am not at gym person, I do know men that are and they say they can inflate the implant to a partial erection and walk around the men's room.  ::)

I would be very careful with this doctor, if what he says is so great why do others not use his procedure? Until today I have never heard of him or his implant.

I am just trying to give you the benefit of my years of research and use of an implant and peyronies.

If you have any private questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Jackp, thanks again for that info.

Are there any lengthening procedures that have positive reviews?

I was talking to my urologist today regarding ligating some of the veins. I'm hoping my Peyronie's urologist, Dr. Lue, will agree and consider me for that surgery.

Matt,

I'm confused from reading your post. Are you seeing 2 urologists? I recommend that you choose only a Peyronies Disease specialist for accurate assessment.

Just the fact that this guy is located in Beverly Hills, CA ought to tip you that he is making a killing off of his procedures.

I too have had an implant using the AMS LGX & have always echoed Jack's advice about seeking a specialist. A good dr. will be honest with you & tell you how much risk you are taking in "messing around" with whatever God has already given you. I am thrilled with just having ANY penis that works. Lengthening is a dangerous gamble. From what I have personally researched, the material used to gain size (length or width) can be toxic to the body & can also "lump up" once it is inside your penis.

The vast majority of surgeons will tell you to stay away from lengthening....especially if you are already considering an implant.

It wasn't so long ago that there was no hope for ever regaining use let alone gaining length. I guess we all want to be greedy for more. Please be careful. From what I read, Dr. Lue is one of the best so he may have new information.

Matt

Messing with the veins in your penis will only cause problems down the road. It could cause your penis to become cold and destroy some sensitivity.

I was off the forum due to health problems for some time. I do not know your whole story but my question to you is why  do you want a longer or bigger penis than you were born with? Porn has suggested to men that bigger is better but right the opposite is true. In my early 20's there were three of us that chased girls. Billy, Jr.and myself. Billy was only 4", I was about 6 and Jr.s claim to fame was his 9" penis. He bragged about it all the time. You know who got the most girls, Billy. Jr. could never understand why the girls would not have sex with him. I know one that did and said he hurt her during sex.  If a girl cares about you the size of your penis does not matter to her.

I was about 6" in my youth, just before peyronies I was about 5 1/2", I had gained some weight. Just before my implant the very few times I could manage an erection on my own for a few seconds I was down to 4".  When my implant was activated I was measured at 4 1/4". I told Todd Doran that in a VED I could get 4 3/4". He said in about 3 months you will be back to that. Sure enough at my 3 months Dr. Milam measured me at 4 3/4" and at my one year check up 5". He said I would continue to expand slowly for about another 6 months. Sure enough at 18 months I was 5 1/2". One day I asked my wife how I felt to her when I was down to 4". She said I always felt the same to her.  Size is a man thing women don't care about size they care about the whole man.

I know it is difficult to wrap your mind around this. The only thing that works is an implant with the AMS 700 LGX, to one that expands in both length and girth. All other options are best described as "snake oil". I chat with some men that had some of the procedures you mention and regret it. The best sex is with the size god gave you!  :)

There are before and after pictures of a 24 year old single young man that had peyronies with hourgassing and Erectile Dysfunction. He now has many girlfriends and all say he is the best they ever had.

Jackp, the only reason I'm considering the lengthening procedure is to counter the loss in length caused by surgery to fix the bend. Otherwise, my length is fine.

Here are some questions I hope you can address for me:

(1) Do you know where I can find a video on how the AMS 700 LGX functions?

I watched videos of other AMS 700 implants and I was not impressed with the erections achieved. I don't know if maybe these guys have small penises or the implant doesn't inflate the penis to the maximum size as defined by the pre-Erectile Dysfunction or pre-Peyronie's penis, because if I couldn't get an implant that enlarged my penis to its' maximum size, it really wouldn't be something I would even consider at this point.

(2) What about the glan (head)? How does that inflate and become solid?

(3) Is it true that you can have sex for as long as you want with the implant?

(4) What if I don't like it, can it be removed and not effect natural erections?

(5) Do I lose spontaneous or nocturnal erections forever?

(6) Who do I contact to get more info about this implant?

Also, Dr. Elist called me earlier and told me that he does not touch the suspensory ligament. He also told me that with the Peyronie's surgery I will lose about 1-1/2 inches of length but that the implant will immediately restore that length. I'm not completely sold on him and his surgical technique but he also does vein ligation, which would tie off one or more of the veins that drain the blood out of my penis. I have excellent vascularity throughout my whole body which in this case is a bad thing. My veins are large and allow for the blood to flow out easy enough. I have to speak to Dr. Lue about this when I see him next Friday.

voulezvous, I'm seeing 3 urologists. One is connected to my health plan. He's a general urologist responsible for my basic urology issues. The second is an outside of the health plan doctor who has some Peyronie's background and was necessary in order to get to my third urologist, Dr. Lue.

Matt,

With all due respect.....you don't seem to get it.

When you became a "victim" of Peyronies Disease, you had physiological changes to your penis that cannot be overcome by any legitimate or objectively proven means. There are plenty of web sites (including this one) that explain how the disease creates plaque which causes the bend. There are also plenty (maybe more) web sites that make outlandish & moronic claims that they can make you gain length. You seem to be unwilling to accept the fact that, no matter what is done surgically, you will never have the same penis you did before the Peyronies Disease. I'm not saying that it couldn't be done, just that I have never heard of anyone who totally returned to or even gained length from an implant.

JackP has done an excellent job of explaining to you exactly how the AMS LGX works & how much of his original length & width he reacquired over time. The same happened to me as well as thousands of others who have had the surgery. If the size of the penises in the AMS video don't impress you then you are totally missing the point. Do some historical research & you will find that there have been incredible advancements made in the science of implant design & function. Less than 50 years ago there was no such thing as a penile implant.

Frankly, you sound a little strange about this thing. Are you seeking answers that will somehow enhance your ego or correct your condition?

To answer a few of your questions, the glans has its own blood supply which will not be affected by the surgery. If you have a dr. who is experienced in dealing with Peyronies Disease as well as implants in general, he or she will not touch any of the nerves or tissue that are leading blood to & from the glans.

Yes, you can have sex for days if you can find a partner who is willing. How much you can ejaculate will stay the same. How much your brain may be aroused for sexual activity (ie: desire) will stay the same. But your erection will last as long as you want it to.

Once the implant surgery is done it cannot be reversed. The chambers that are in the penis are literally destroyed & replaced by the 2 cylinders that inflate. That means that you no longer have a way to have a natural erection.

Yes, you lose the ability to have spontaneous or nocturnal erections.

Not sure what more I can suggest by way of getting more information. Before I made up my mind to have the implant, I researched all I could by utilizing this site & by reading the vast amount of material that explains implants. I actually called AMS & spoke to a lady in their support department who was kind enough to give me names & numbers of people who had the implant so I could ask them questions. I think they volunteer to do this. However, the bottom line is that its a risk that you either are willing to take or not. I too lost length from the Peyronies Disease. But I also, more importantly in my opinion, lost use. I could not penetrate a woman & remain erect. So I decided that ANY use was better than what I was living with.

I hope this helps.

interesting topic I thought I would comment that I am currently trying to regain normal size with out any kind of surgery.  using techniques and VEDs 6.75 before 5.25 after and now at 6.10 use surgery only as a last resort.

Jed- I have definitely gained a little length and girth from traction and VED, but it is only visible when flaccid. I guess the good news is with an erection, even with the curve it is about the original length. Go figure!! Regards Inkhorn

voulezvous,

Thank you for your response.

I guess I wasn't very clear that this is the very first conversation that I'm having regarding implants. I have never seriously considered implants as an option so my questions up to this point have been elementary. I have very little idea how they perform in achieving erections and how they would fit into a lifestyle change caused by adapting to them. I also have no idea how much length I'm going to lose and if it can be restored. Again, this is my first time asking these questions so I would appreciate a bit of patience with me if you're so disposed to addressing my questions.

I understand how implants have come a long way and the AMS LGX is a premium product. As I mentioned, I was hoping to see a video demonstrating the product. The videos I did see were AMS but different models. It's with those models that I was no impressed. When the implant was inflated, the erections looked weak and the penises only slightly engorged. I'm hoping that a video of the LGX is put up soon so I can compare.

As for the glan, I've read numerous posts in various forums of men complaining that their glans no longer fill up and other sites discussing the disadvantages of implants that state that the glan can be left dangerously uninflated setting up a situation where the penis can be damaged. If you have a different experience, I'm happy to hear it but that was a concern that was widely discussed in various forums. Can you please tell me to what extent your glan fills up? Does it engorge like it did before Peyronie's?

I'm still a bit far from choosing an implant as an option but I'm trying to gather info about it so I can discuss it with my doctor in the next week.

Thanks again for your time and help.

Bent Dick, the one thing I'm thankful for is that I haven't lost any length due to Peyronie's. My major problem that my penis doesn't hold the erection despite any number of things I've tried. As I mentioned, my bend is 45 degrees upwards but it was around 90 degrees when I first started dealing with this issue.

The last thing I want is to lose length. That's one of my concerns with implants. I'm going to keep utilizing VED, traction, and Pentox, among other things, before I decide on an implant.

All I can say is thank God you have a loving, caring, and understanding wife. I have no one. Aside from the misery of loneliness, I have no one to love or to love me. Despite my issue, my libido is super-high so you can imagine how miserable I am.

Ditto on the loneliness thing Matt. I had a girfriend up until 9 months ago when I pushed her over the edge because of this hellish disease. Having a broken penis, lack of sex, the constant tightness/uncomfortableness...In my opinion those all pale in comparison to being completely alone with no future prospects and no one who can possibly understand. I'm a pretty good looking guy and I get 10-15 very attractive girls a day look my way with flirty smiles...but all I can do is smile back because there's not one damn thing I can do. I still wake up every morning feeling like I'm in some sort of surreal nightmare.

Matt,

Thank you for explaining. I apologize if I came on strong with the discussion about losing length. You are absolutely right to be concerned & to research everything out there in order to gain more certainty of what to expect if you choose to have surgery. I'd agree that length loss is a BIG factor in that decision. My overall length is now 1/2 inch less than where I was in my 30's. Big deal. With my bend before surgery I had lost about 1 1/2 inches AND I could not hold an erection with or without Viagra, etc.. As you can gather by now from those of us who chose that route, we did lose length - at least for a while. Your dr. will explain to you, however, that, with time, much of your loss should return. Part of what will make that happen is the regularity of inflating & deflating the implant once you have healed from the surgery. They recommend at least twice a day for the 1st 6 months! That's a lot of pumping.

Personally, my LGX has been incredible. I am able to become "rock hard" & the glans/head of my penis is still able to engorge to the same size it was pre-implant. As I explained earlier, the glans has its own blood supply which should not be affected by the implant. If the urologist does the correct procedure, he will measure exactly how far up the tip of the implant cylinders should go in order to reach the glans. If he/she over measures, there is a danger that when you inflate, the tip will actually penetrate the glans - a very uncomfortable thought. If they under measures, the tip won't quite reach the glans & could cause what is generally called (I think) "floppy penis". Maybe that is the condition you are referring to. But please understand - the 2 cylinders DO NOT inflate the head. They stop where the glans begins.

All of this is why we who have had the procedure done recommend utilizing a urologist who specializes in both Peyronies Disease & implants.

One final point I want to make is that you should consider surgery ONLY as a final step. If you are capable of having sex with a partner regardless of the bend, then, by all means, look for other alternatives - especially if the Peyronies Disease has not already affected your length. Once you have had any surgery it cannot be reversed. At my age (71), most men are unable to hold erections let alone ejaculate. In that sense I am one of the very lucky ones. Peyronies Disease taught me a valuable life lesson. We are loved for who we are- not for our sexual prowess. Whatever decision you make, you are not going to be a better or worse person because of it. By the way, I was single 7 years ago when I first encountered this disease so I understand the feelings of inadequacy & shame that can be overwhelming at times. I too had relationships that failed in that time but I honestly never had anyone break up with me because of my Peyronies Disease. 90% of the women I met & dated were totally understanding & we did what we could to enjoy sex. The hardest part was telling (or warning) them. Please don't assume that you will be ridiculed or mocked. In more than one incidence it was a turn on because good women love honesty.

voulezvous, thank you so very much for that follow up info. I greatly appreciate it.

It's good to know that at the very least there is a fail-safe plan to return back to a relatively normal functioning penis. I guess in the coming months I'll know if I need to seriously consider the implant or continue with my current therapy.

Thanks again for your help.

Matt

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Dealing with this back pain. Also my wife has gone to our youngest daughters to be with her for her chemo for breast cancer today.

Voulezous and others have answered your questions. I would just like to add one thing about the glans. One of the reason Dr. Milam uses the LGX is because it expands into the glans just enough to prevent "floppy head". This is what you are reading form men complaining about it. The non length expanding implants do not do this, so the complaints.

As for glans erections.  I had lost all forms of erections including my glans. With the properly implanted LGX I never had "floppy head". Then at about 16 months post op my wife and I were playing around one evening and she looked at me and said, Jack I thought you could never get hard on your own again. Sure enough my glans had started becoming erect again. I asked Todd Doran about it and he said it will return for most men. The blood that use to go to the corpus cavenosum now redirects to the corpus sponglosum.

You will note it said a properly implanted LGX. There are doctors, mostly in New England, that will implant the LGX but leave it about 2cm short "because it expands in length". DUH!! This will cause nothing but troubles. This is also some of the complaints you read.  Use a doctor that is experienced using the LGX that know how to properly measure you during surgery. Beware of any doctor that says he will have the rep with him in surgery, he is not fully experienced in case of problems.

I like the feeling of "morning wood", and getting spontaneous erections.  That said, I think implants may be in my future, and they have gotten so much better over the years.  I would gladly give up the sensation of having spontaneous erections resulting from arousal, if I could regain a hard, straight penis.  These stories bring me hope.

The night I came home from Nashville, after my implant was activated. I was in bed laying on my back with an erection that was hard and stood straight up. That was the first time in many years. It is hard to describe how I felt, the best is "Normal Again!"

After about 16 months the blood flow in my penis redirected to my glans. Now my glans reacts normally to spontaneous erections and stimulation. I can inflate my implant and you would never know I have one. In the mornings the nice cool air running over me gives me the feeling of a normal morning wood.
