Hey guys I'm new here and I'm 16 years old and I have a problem. I play football and I think I injured my penis about a year ago. When erect my penis is a little over seven inches long and it dosent curve but it has a noticeable dent in one side. When flaccid it bends to that side and here is like a hard "cord" that can be felt. Right now it dosnt cause any problems other than a slight pain I feel most of the time but I'm mostly worried it will get worse. I told my mom but she dosent think its a big issue but I'm still concerned. I feel quite certain that its peyronies. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I moved your post to introduce yourself, you will get more attention here.
In my opinion, you have to convince your mom that you have to see a specialist. This will make things more clear and you will understand what it is.
Let us know what is the specialist opinion.

Best wishes

I agree with James. You need to get across to her that what is happening is not typical is upsetting to you and requires attention. I know it's potentially an embarrassing issue, but it's best to try to get the advice of a professional on these matters, rather than leave things to chance.

Hey Jjreal,

I know exactly what you are feeling right now. I injured my penis when I was 19 due to sexual trauma and began having exactly what you are describing. I told my mom (was too embarrassed to tell dad at the time), but she kinda wrote it off because she simply didn't understand. I've encountered a few women who simply just "don't get it". You need to be adamant with her and keep on pestering her until she takes you to the urologist. The quicker you can get a diagnosis and treatment going, the better off you will be.

And don't worry too much, you're still young and there are a lot of treatments that have helped people here and even more coming down the pipeline. When I got this thing 11 years ago, we were still in the dark ages and there was no hope. You are young and have nothing but hope.

Hi Jgreal

No matter how embarrassing talk to your dad. He should much better than your mom. Get him to take you to a good urologist for a complete check up.

The sooner you ease your mind the better.

Thank you all for your input its good to know that I am not alone! I will talk to my parents again and try and schedule an appointment. In the meantime I'm going to get some vitamin e, ill keep you guys posted

Jjreal

Saw a family doctor with my dad today and he said I was still young and had a good chance of healing so I feel much better. He referred me to a urologist and i also got some vitamin e caps and vitamin e oil. My main concern is the pain which is getting annoying but hopefully it will improve with time

Jjreal - It's hard to predict the path the condition will take. You should definitely try to get on pentox though if it's ascertained that you may have peyronie's. Better to be safe than sorry. Maybe one of your parents could join of browse the forum? Whatever helps the situation.

You are still very young but I will tell you from my own experience and other forum members also that many doctors don't understand in Peyronies (if that what really you have) so be ready to that.
I will join newguy suggestion to go on Pentox with doctor supervision. It will help you with the pain.
You are young and young people are healing mush faster :) than older ones :(.

So I have a lot of scar tissue from a football injury and am in a lot of pain so my doctor referred me to a urologist. The only problem is he won't see me because I'm a minor (16). They want to refer me to a pediatric urologist but it's not really a pediatric issue?? It sucks because I see it get a little worse every day

Jjreal

Also my dad had peyronies so I think genetically I was predetermined to have it but the early onset is really distressing.

RoyHobbs

That's ridiculous. Where are you? Check out the urologist section and find out if a specialist is nearby. Even if it's a day drive this is your future you're talking about. Have you told your primary care giver that your dad had peyronies? Most doctors are I'll informed in this condition.

Sorry that you're going through this.

inkhorn

JJ- Sorry you are dealing with this at a young age. Is your Dad available to get involved? If not him another adult family member can get hold of a good Uro and make this happen. Regards Inkhorn

Because of your age, and possible insurance requirement, you will need a parent or guardian to go with you to the office. You will have to jump through the hoops and see a pediatric urologist first for a refferal to a Male Sexual Function Specialist.

If you are worried about privacy you parent does not need to be in the exam room with you.

Good Luck

pediatric is the term for any doctor who sees someone under the age of 18. My daughter was treated for a nurology issue by a pediatric neurologist until she was 18 and then we had to have her referred to someone else.

Finally saw a urologist today and he diagnosed me with Peyronies. Feel less worried now that I know what I have but I'm still worried. Everyone is right though urologists really aren't any help with this he basically just told me to wait it out.

Don't just "wait it out". Is a very bad advice from an incompetent doctor. Sadly have many of them out there, all over the world.
You have to find urgently a Peyronies specialist.
Start at least with Pentox, CoQ10, low dose Cialis and VED.

I agree with James.  Now that you have been diagnosed, you have to fight the beast with everything you got.  It is not time to relax.

Jjreal- As the others have said get busy my friend. If this doc won't write the scripts, get another. Get on VED right away. Some of the supplements promoted here require no script. But do not wait. Attack now. Regards Inkhorn

So I merged those three because you are spreading too much.

Totally agreed with this for the most part, but I do wonder if a strong pde5 inhibitor like cialis at 16 would be a good idea. I know at that age I was hard all the time anyway, I wonder with cialis in the mix would he be at quite a high risk of priapism? nb. this is just based on a hunch, I have no studies to back it up...

Jreal, if nothing else, you should buy yourself a good coq10 supplement and some acetyl carnitine. Both are good treatments that do not require a prescription. But, from your description it really does sound like Peyronies, and early treatment is the best treatment and if it was me I would move heaven and earth to get hold of pentox.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.
