Hello-

I am so happy to have found this forum!!!

I was diagnosed with Peryonies's about a year ago, the doc performed an ultrasound and told me there was not much to do at that point other then obersving it, I was supposed to go back but am an artist, cash was tight and I could not return. He did not prescribed me anything but mentionned supplements etc. I have been religiosly taking all the over the counter pills and supplements and have not gotten a positive reaction to it.

I have not been much sexualy active as my wife got pregnant around the same time I was diagnosed and loss the sex drive ( due to pregnancy ), now after the baby (2 months ) she is still recovering from the vaginal delivery, so we continued to not have sex.

I have noticed a change on the paque and am not sure it is good or bad, thats when I need your help.

The plaque started on the very base of my penis making it curve to the left, at that point, the penis looked crooked but you could not see much of the deformity, you could feel it by the touch but the indention was not so terrible. I have never felt pain nor have issues with getting an erection and my state of mind was not that bad considering...

NOW, It seems that the plaque moved up about a half an inch making the curve or dent a lot more noticeable, making the curvature about 10 o'clock. Could the paque move? Is change a good or a bad sign? How do I know if it is getting better or worse?

I will see the doc again soon as I am very concerned :(

Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?
Does anyone know a specialist in Los ANgeles?? Please help!

Hi Searchmode,

Welcome to the forum and sorry you have to be here. Some quick tips:

1. Get on pentoxifylline (trental). It is a prescription drug that is very cheap. It is not a cure, but it has been proven to reduce plaque size and reduce inflammation and pain.

2. One of the best (if not THE best) Peyronie's urologist in the world is located at UCSF in San Francisco, Dr. Tom Lue. He is the guy to see and has done some of the ground breaking studies on pentoxifylline (one study located here for download: Pentox - Dr. Lue Case Study / Levine mentions his use of Pentox - Peyronies Society Forums). You will need a referral from the first Dr. who diagnosed you (Lue only sees patients who have a confirmed diagnosis from another doctor).

I assume you are a young guy like me (30s) since you mention a newborn. I got this at 29 and pentox was very beneficial to preventing further progression of the disease. It is important to get on this early. Please PM me if you have specific questions.

Congrats on the kid, by the way! My wife got pregnant with our first while I was on pentox. It has the side effect of increasing sperm motility, i.e. making you more fertile.

Skjaldborg:

In the following sentence, I think you meant to say from another DOCTOR - right?

You will need a referral from the first Dr. who diagnosed you (Lue only sees patients who have a confirmed diagnosis from another patient).

Thank you so much! I will get on the Pentox ASAP, wish the doctor I saw a year ago had prescribed it to me then!
I will make the trip to SF if needed be to see Dr. Lou.

Old Man,

Good catch! Sometimes my typing is faster than my brain. Dr. Lue only sees patients who have a confirmed diagnosis from another physician.
