Swollen penis

My penis since the start of the Peyronies Disease has been swollen upon erection.   When soft its either like jello with almost no give to it-no form. It seems to be completely unhealthy tissue composing the whole of my penis. i can pull on it and it stretches with little give to it.  Other times when soft it shrinks up and the outer skin seems to hang like a oversize coat.  When erect it seems to be swollen beyond its original shape girthwise and looks like it's made of plastic all around.  Since the beginning I've had to sleep on my side to let my penis lay on my thigh.  When i wake up in the morning the skin on my head has at times been peeling off as if it's being stretched beyond its size.  When erect it's not completely firm.  It's straight when erect most of the time but the tissue is so unhealthy it's unusable.  The plaques have been all in a few spots but i don't see the bends caused by them.

I had blood tests done and was diagnosed with low testosterone.  My doctor agreed to treat me for it.  he gave me one shot of 200 mg cypionate.  my pain was completely gone for the next three or four days then it came back slowly.  The pain actually followed the graph curve for the levels of testosterone in your blood stream following an injection of cypionate.  meaning it went away and stayed away for the period of time when my blood levels of testosterone should be elevated because of the shot. the form started coming back into my penis as well, meaning my length came back and it was curving right and up.  I was happy about the curves it meant my penis actually had a form!  My erections were firm for the first time since the peyronies started.  At two weeks after the shot the pain was back just as bad as ever if not worse than ever and my erections have lost their form again (they were straight but not hard despite being seemingly full) and my length is decreasing again (this is not subjective I've been measuring it).  At two weeks after an injection of cypionate your levels are at basal levels or below meaning the injection is having no effect on you at that time.

My doctor wanted to do the shots every month which is the worst way to do it so i stopped and now i have to find some other doctor.   I've been on pentox now for about 6 weeks. I'd love to have a penis with a curve, any curve at least i could masturbate.  My penis is completely unusable and has no form to it and i don't want do anything with it for fear of doing more damage.   this is bad...has anyone else had the whole of their penis tissue seem unhealthy not just parts with plaque??

I don't have plaque over all of my penis but my whole penis seems unhealthy...  i hope that makes sense and doesn't just sound like gibberish.  Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar.  I'm soooo tired right now physically and emotionally  i really don't think I can do this much longer.  losing hope ready to check out.

You may have hard-flaccid. Try this forum All Discussions - Hard Flaccid Forum and check if they describe your symptoms.

Thanks.  That site is a pain to sort through. I can't find a good definition of the condition or symptoms at all. Only that it's a chronic pelvic pain syndrome. The pain is coming from very specific parts of my penis though  I'll keep looking through the site..

You had a prove that elevating the testosterone level helped (according to what you are writing)
Why not to try a therapy to increase the testosterone level?

What does a penis with no form looks like? Was that always the case?

phatcat

I suppose no form is a strange way of putting it.  Before the onset of Peyronies Disease my penis had a distinct upward and left curve.  Since the onset of Peyronies Disease  my penis has been straight but looked pale and sickly ( the skin would peel off the head after waking up with an erection) and though straight, was unusable because it was not solid but felt soft like I could push it any direction i wanted and hurt it very easily.

After the testosterone injection my penis began to take some form back curving to the right again and upwards.  the pain also went down considerably.  I had blood tests done and it appears i am secondary hypogonadal.  From my reading this could certainly make the Peyronies Disease worse as testosterone is important for penile health.   i was reading about studies that show an absence of testosterone can lead to fibrosis of the penis.

Anyway to answer your question james.  i tried injections but my doctor wanted to do them every month.  this leads to wild fluctuations in testosterone levels.  studies have shown that testosterone levels cannot remain elevated from a shot of cypionate for two weeks much less a month.  After the shot your body stops producing testosterone so after a couple of weeks i would be left with lower than usual testosterone levels.  Meaning lower than before the shot.
The doc was an idiot and i was pretty angry at him.  Anyway I took matters into my own hands and ordered some clomid off the internet instead of waiting to find a doctor who actually knows what he's doing.  It's off label (like our pentox) it is used as a fertility treatment in women.  It raises LH levels.  Researchers have found it does the same in men.  This cause increased testosterone levels in secondary hypogonadal men. So it can be used in the place of testosterone injections.   I'm feeling better and the pain is mostly gone.  It's been about a week of taking clomid.  I'll need to have bloodwork to confirm that it's raising my testosterone levels.  Hopefully I can get that done in the next couple of weeks.

I'm going to see Dr. Lue next Tuesday and i'll ask him what he thinks.

There's a study being done by Abraham Morgentaler on testosterone and peyronies.  He seems like kind of a big shot in the medical world and his focus is specifically on testosterone.  If the results are good i'm sure we'll be hearing a lot from him.  It would be interesting if he used pentox with the testosterone.  I've been reading that testosterone helps control inflammation  How testosterone protects against inflammation

can help fix venoue leakage and ED Testosterone improves erectile function in ... [J Androl. 2008 Nov-Dec] - PubMed - NCBI

and also that low testosterone may lead to diabetes Men With Low Testosterone Levels May Be At Increased Risk For Diabetes which has been implicated in the onset of peyronies on the forum. \

I know there's a lot of talk about exercising on the forum, and being overweight can cause low testosterone which may help trigger peyronies.  I'm just thinking out loud here but the low testosterone seems to link to a few of our "triggers".

this is my worst source by far but i'm tired and need to study for finals: could testosterone gel increase penis size and improve erections    It gives a basic overview on how low testosterone can effect the blood vessels in the penis.

I've always had a good diet and exercised regularly. I had blood work done to check me for diabetes and my glucose levels were all good.   I had no injury to my penis that i could recall so i'm wondering if my low testosterone was the major cause of my peyronies.  It would be interesting if more guys in the acute phase would check their
T levels and go on some T treatment ) if they have low T) early in the peyronies process to see how it helps.  I would guess it would help most, like everything else, in the early stages.

Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to get out what was in my head.

Ok last thing:  I've read the talk of vitamin D on the forum and we know it's really important to your health.  It seems to protect MS patients against attacks. MS is an autoimmune disease.  So if it can protect them why not us right?

Well vitamin D seems to raise testosterone levels.  Low vitamin D seems to correlate with low (or at least lower) testosterone levels Effect of vitamin D supplementation on testos... [Horm Metab Res. 2011] - PubMed - NCBI

There's another study i've read showing a link to seasonal changes in vitamin d levels and changes in testosteroen levels but i'm not sure where that is.

I understand what you are saying and I think it is right.
Send a PM to MattFolley, he have obsession with Testosterone but also big knowledge in the subject, maybe he know something that can help you.
