I am new to the forum.  I am 58 years old and diagnosed with Peyronies Disease 9 months ago. I am in great physical health aside from the Peyronies Disease and haven't been sick in 41 years. I work out 5-6 times per week since I am 18. I had no specific event cause the Peyronies Disease, no apparent injury  I have a great urologist but has the "lets wait and see what happens" approach with Peyronies Disease.

I saw him last week and he said he had a patient who was part of the Xiaflex study and received the placebo and then the actual Xiaflex afterwards.  The placebo had no effect but he said his patient claims he had an 80% improvement with the Xiaflex (not sure exactly what that means but it sounds good).

He said I should wait for the Xiaflex. I asked him about Pentox (I have been reading this forum for a few months but just joined today) and he didn't know anything about it as far as Peyronies Disease is concerned. He said it was a blood thinner and since he didn't know about it's use for Peyronies Disease he would not prescribe it right now.

My curvature is worsening and I am very likely getting divorced (not related to the Peyronies Disease problem) and mentally not in a good place because of the divorce and related issues. I have tried neprinol, vitamin E, DMSO, copper peptides, ultrasound, heat, VED and vitamin C but nothing seems to help. I am hoping I am not causing my condition to worsen.

I would like to find a urologist in NJ or NYC who is focuses on Peyronies Disease and possibly try Pentox or see what ideas he may have. I can't sit back and wait for a drug that may or may not help.

I know you all will understand what I mean when I say I hate this disease. It is a really bad game changer in my life and I am sure for all of you as well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your decision to find a Peyronies specialist and to see him as soon as you can is a good start.
Just waiting for Xiaflex is wrong. Calcified plaques were excluded from the Xiaflex trial, no treatment is increasing the chance the plaque will calcify.
You may find a specialist at:

I went to see Dr.Metro in East Norristown PA (outside Philadelphia) today. I got his name from the list of urologists on this blog for my peyronies. He is not in NJ but I will travel and spend whatever it takes to beat this.

He is putting me on Pentox - 400 mg 3 times per day, L-Arginine 1,000 mg 2 times per day, daily Cialis and he wants me to use the andropenis traction 2-3 hours per day.

I had already jumped the gun and started using the Augusta VED. Waiting and doing nothing has never been an option in my book. I find it very interesting that the overall recommendations from this site is where he is at. I told him what I had learned before he examined me and gave me recommendations. He was attentive and heard me out first. He was also part of the Xiaflex trials with good results in 2 out of 8 patients, the 2 that he thought would work. The other 6 were calcified already.

He stressed that waiting beyond the initial 12-18 months is a very big mistake.  Get it while the plaque is still soft.

I told him I found him on this forum and he said that I am the second person to tell him that.  I gave him the web address and he said he will check the site out.

I really want to thank all of you who put this site together and all the people who are contributing.

Knowledge is power. Fight this as hard as you can!

My doctor's name is Dr. Michael Metro at 609 W Germantown Pike, East Norristown PA 19043  (although they will be moving soon to 317 Germantown Pike). Phone: 610-233-3580.

He is optimistic regarding Xiaflex and has a lot of Peyronies patients he plans to have seminar for when it becomes available.

Everyone: DO NOT WAIT TO SEE A UROLOGIST AND TAKE ACTION! It is critical that you fight this disease as soon as possible. Waiting is very bad.

For all the viewers out there not registered on this site, register and see a urologist. My doctor said 3 to 9% of men have this disease (I have no idea how "they" come up with that). I believe it could be more as men tend not to do anything about issues surrounding their genitals (i.e.: prostate exams). If everyone with this disease went to their urologist, we would receive the attention that this disease should have had already since modern medicine tends to focus on where the numbers are and therefore, where the money will be.

Fight your battle now, don't wait.

YMENOW

I had Peyronies Disease and it worsened and ended up with a IPP.  I went to Dr. Eid in NYC and he will tell you exactly what is going on and he definitely will tell you what course of action you need to take.

If you have any concerns or questions you can PM me.

Dear I hatePD,
I use Dr. Peter Stahl in NYC at Columbia Presbyterian, a very inspiring man, great with injections. His phone #212 305 0114. I travel from Connecticut to NYC to see him and I am very pleased and impressed! Feel free to message me if you want to talk!

Thanks DO and YMENOW.

I am happy with the direction I am going with Dr. Metro with the Pentox, L-Arginine, Cialis and traction route.

DO, I saw your posts before and if Dr. Metro didn't take this path, I would be heading to Dr. Stahl at Columbia Presbyterian right now.

Everyone, keep sharing the names of Doctors that are proactive fighting Peyronies Disease. Waiting is very bad.

Keep fighting!

My treatment was done by the Link deleted by moderator. He's been dealing with such problems decades and each patient was treated very carefully. I was happy to have them for my treatment.

DO - what course of treatment did Dr. Stahl recommend for you?
55 - Onset May 2017.  38 degree bend up.  Failed Xiaflex treatment.  Still functional so I decided to stop treatments.  Only take 400mg Co-Q10 and occasionally use Restorex
