Penile Lymphocele and VED

Hi all,

A combination of a cautionary note and a request if anyone has similar experience.

Some background. I developed a dent in the LH side in November 2012; no ED, still straight, no pain, no real hinging, just a tendency to weakness at the dent. After visiting this board and some PM's with Old Man I decided to buy a Augusta SomaErect 3-cylinder VED, which I have now been using for nearly 3 weeks, following the modified 26-week protocol (I have been using the B cylinder instead of the A).

However yesterday, after 15 days, I noticed something like a piece of string beneath the skin of my penis, on the top, running from base to just behind the glans. Initially I was horrified and thought that my Peyronies had moved into a new phase (I've read posts with people referring to phenomena like string), but this string-like thing was in the skin and not the penis structure, as I could feel underneath it by inserting my finger inside my foreskin. The "string" is highly mobile and I can pinch it between finger and thumb, move it around and pull it away from my penis slightly; it has no real sensation and I feel no discomfort from squeezing it or manipulating it.

From an internet search it would appear I have developed a Penile Lymphocele, caused by a blockage or damage to one of the lymph channels. I'm guessing that this is from the pressure on my pubis from the base of the VED cylinder, as the "string" starts roughly where the cylinder meets my belly and the cylinder "digs in" a bit when I pump. They can just appear spontaneously, but apparently the usual cause of Penile Lymphoceles is vigorous masturbation or sex, so I may have been over-pumping. Opinion is that they will clear up themselves, with abstinence helping, so I'm laying off the VED until this clears up. Here's the best info I found Hard, string-like thing under skin of penis.

I just thought I'd post this to see if anyone has similar experience, has any string-like structures in their penises and to warn that, even though I can't be 100% certain that using the VED is the cause, there might be other effects from over-pumping.

Hi,

I have also experienced the lymphocele you are describing both after pumping and also about one month prior to getting my peyronies. The way I understand it is that its completely unharmful and if you massage it it can dissappear in a matter of seconds. However, I would also very much like to know if getting the lymphocele after a session with the VED (I also use the 3 cyl. somaerect) indicates that I have been over pumping.

As a final note on my lymphocele development it normally occurs as a belt crossing my penis on the top side right below the glans. I think there's no doubt that what you have experienced is also a lymphocele because the symptoms are spot on with mine.

Never:

If you continue to have the problem with that condition after each and every VED session, you might be using too much vacuum pressure. VED therapy is case where less vacuum is much better than more.

The main purpose of the VED is to get better blood flow into and out of the corpora through the vacuum pressure. Since that pressure is many times greater than that of a natural erection, one should be very careful with the amount of vacuum pull used during each VED therapy session.

Caution is the watchword in each and every pumping session. So, bottom line, used this as a natural indication you have overpumped: if you experience any undue discomfort or pain when pumping, release the pressure and wait a while before resuming pumping. Another thing is this: you also want to get rid of any curve/bend, plaque or nodules, concentrate of exercising that area of the shaft too.

We are here to help in any way possible for anyone, so feel free to ask questions as they arise.

Yes - blocked lymphatic vessels can appear to be string-like structures just under the skin. Some people mistakenly think it is a blocked blood vessel or scar tissue. Excess lymph fluid in the skin looks like a blister.

Excess vacuum (suction) and/or excess duration (holding suction too long) causes lymph fluid to collect in the outer tissue of the skin. Trial and error is what most guys use to avoid the condition. There has been some experimentation with "condom pumping" using a tight fitting condom on an erect penis then pumping in the tube. It is also good to remember that everyone seems to be a bit different when it comes to their lymph system - what works for 1 guy causes a problem for another guy.

The lymphatic system of the body has no "pump" like the heart for blood vessels. Gravity can also work against the lymph system especially on a "dead end" body part (penis) that often hangs down.

Over the years several remedies have been suggested and these are my favorite:

Massage lightly - but the problem is knowing in which direction to go. The vessel can be gently rolled between the finger tips and it will sometimes resolve.

Elevation - get creative using anything to elevate the lymph filled area above the surrounding body. Some guys have suggested a ring of towels while lying on one's back.

Heat - usually heat will expand vessels so a warm bath or heating pad will help increase circulation. One clever guy put a disposable hand warmer in his snug brief-style underwear with the penis pointing up and reported quick resolution of blocked lymph vessels.

Hope that helps - Good Luck!

Thanks for confirming my suspicions and the wisdom of Google.

I might give the massage and heat ideas a go, but I'll be damned if I'm putting one of my lighter-fuel-fired handwarmers down there!   :o

Compression is another way of getting lymph fluid to re-absorb. Yes, I would stick with the disposable hand warmers...

Just thought I'd complete the circle on this and confirm that by laying off the VED and taking it very easy on any other forms of penile exertion  ;D the "string" of lymphocele has completely cleared up.

It didn't respond to massage, but it just appears to have reabsorbed slowly, in its own time, exactly as the website (I gave the URL for in my first post) predicted.

So, no string, just the dent.

You have pointed out the main thing. Yes it has the probability of losing the directions..

Hi All,

I would really appreciate any reassurance / tips for making this lymphocele go away for good! i have had the same symptoms as you all - string and then lymph build up below gland, but for about 2 months now!! :(

When i dont masturbate/ have sex it most goes away but then every time after erection it comes back for a little while after. I have been stuck in between a rock and a hard place because everyone says with Peyronies Disease erections are important.

So now I am dedicated to at least a month of no purposeful erections and really am praying that this lymph build up goes away.

again any reasurance would be great!!

thank you

I suggest you read my posts earlier in this thread. Research "treatment for lymphedema". If you use VED, don't over pump. The hardest to do is be consistent and patient. Good Luck!
