Can anyone shed pros and cons to: L-Arginine and Pycnogenol?  After reading about these two supplements, they sound promising.. any past discussion othese two or??

Thanks

Many guys here take Arginine as part of the Pentox, 5 mg. Cialis, and Arginine protocol. For me, instead of the Arginine, I take the precursor for Arginine, Citrulline Malate.

Here's my standard info on the Citrulline:

Citrulline is an amino acid. It was first isolated from and named after watermelon (citrullus vulgaris) over 75 years ago. Until just recently, citrulline was ignored in sports nutrition because it was not directly involved in protein synthesis, building muscle, etc. Within the last few years, however, researchers have found that it is actually intimately involved in arginine metabolism. Arginine is directly involved in building protein, but also in the production of nitric oxide, an extremely important molecule in the body for circulation as well as many other important functions. A recent article published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology* shows that when citrulline is administered to humans, it actually produces more nitric oxide than arginine, which was thought to be the sole amino acid involved in nitric oxide production. It turns out that when arginine is used to produce nitric oxide the other product is citrulline. Citrulline can then be reused in a salvage pathway to replenish arginine. But there's more, it was found that you can increase blood levels of arginine more by taking citrulline rather than arginine—an utterly bizarre finding. It was found that when arginine is taken orally it has to be broken down extensively in the intestines before any of it can produce nitric oxide. Only 1% of arginine ever ends up in the production of nitric oxide. Conversely, citrulline is already in the body because it is a byproduct of nitric oxide production. It is simply reconverted in a two-step path back to arginine. If you're serious about body building then take your citrulline! Pycnogenol is an anti-oxidant and works with Arginine to help boost nitric oxide levels. So, yes, Pycnogenol is a good way to go as well.

Thanks for the info,,, since recently being dianosed with this BS... I am now in sponge mode trying to figure out how to rid it and save my manhood....  and to be frank  since there is no one cure for this,,, does any of these so called treatments work and will the condition ever return if it is cured?  and i wonder if Cured is the right word here in the first place?

You're doing the right thing in being an "info sponge" at this point. That's what I did when I first started as well.

There any number of treatments that people use to try and deal with Peyronie's. Some of the guys here specialize in one thing or another. For example, "Old Man" is the go-to guy for VED. He knows everything about the kinds of cylinders, protocol, etc. involved with it. My emphasis is in testosterone, diet, and exercise so I'll give you my quick spiel about that: If you are sure your testosterone is normal, then cool, but if you don't know or you know it's low, please consider getting a full blood panel done.

Since you're just getting started here, I don't want to overwhelm you with info so my advice is to keep doing research here and ask as many questions as you need. All these guys are great and are happy to help a fellow brother in need.

Roadstar,
Welcome to the forum.  I'm sorry you have to be here but I am glad that we are here so you can get the education and support you need to fight this.  It was not always the case.  I remember wondering why one of the leading Peyronies Disease doctors in the country didn't even have a pamphlet on Peyronies that he could hand me.  I felt pretty much on my own.

I forget which member coined it but we usually make it clear that this is a marathon not a sprint.  There is no "cure" for actual Peyronies Disease if you are positive that is what you have.  There are treatments.  Just like diabetes you manage the condition.  There are a list of things that a prone to improve the condition but every diabetic is not the same.  Some will find it easier to control than others.  Some will have to do more than one or two things.

Unlike diabetes,   Peyronies does often run its course and stop on its own but it often leaves it mark.  Sometimes those prone to the condition have many flare-ups in their life time.  Allegedly some small percentage of cases actually reverse themselves but I am very suspect of such reports.

Look at the highlights at the top of this (the oral treatments board).  Read it and then ask questions.  Thanks to heroic efforts of Angus, every board has such highlights so you can bring yourself up to conversational speed rather quickly.
