Question About ER

As most of you know, the urologist I saw said he can only think the pain I have is the start of Peyronie's, but he wasn't sure. But lately, I've had weird symptoms. When I pee sometimes the stream changes and the tube of my penis hurts when urinating. I get pain the left leg and some burning around the anus. Sometimes when I pee, I think I'm done, but then it's like my bladder fills like a sponge and pee out more, then stops then starts. I feel nauseous sometimes too. I think this may possibly be an infection of the Prostate, if they can last 3 to 6 months, and not Peyronie's; although, I lean more Peyronie's, as the left side of my penis burns in pain.

If one goes to the emergency room for feeling sick with pain in penis and pelvis, strange urinating, and nausea would they check for an infection of prostate and give me anti-biotics, or am I wasting my time with the ER?

If you don't mind the huge ER bill, I would go in. Your symptoms are all over the place and you need to get this figured out.

But would they do anything for the condition, or just say we think it's this, or that, and send me to a general doctor?

MattFoley

It depends on the ER doctor. The ER is usually there to stablize your condition and then send you off. I'm not suggesting you do this but if someone expresses their pain and discomfort to the doctor in a way that makes a priority, they are going to get better service. Remember, acute conditions get the most amount of attention.

Can't say for sure what they would do, but I agree with Matt. Your symptoms are all over the place. It could be Peyronies Disease, it could be kidneys, it could be bladder, it could be prostate. I would sure want to find out. If your Uro didn't do any tests or check anything, I would look elsewhere. ER? Maybe so. But you gotta nail down what is causing all that.

Well, that was a waste of time... The ER doctor ran a urine test, said it was clean. He checked my prostate with his finger, and said he doesn't think it's Prostatitis. I asked him if it could be Peyronie's and he said the penis looks fine and lays fine. He said didn't see any inflammation in my lower parts. He basically had no clue and said I have to see a specialist, and gave me a 3 day prescription for pain meds.

Sigh... The pain was so strange and was burning my the whole side of my left penis I felt like I was going to vomit and ejaculate... weirdest thing that's ever happened to me.
