I had hard flaccid and uncomfortable erections about one year ago. I went to an andrologist and he decided in the last visits that I should try Caverject. He injected it to me and I had no pain whatsoever. In 30 minutes I had a huge boner that lasted 2 hours. Only that it was accompanied by pain all over the pelvic area. Now I google it and I see it seem to have a connection with Peyronies. My condition has worsened since that day, but it could be other thing. What do you guys think? Anyone had injections for erections? If you didnt, dont do it in the future by any means.

ComeBacKid

I believe Hawk made comments in regards to this and his peyronies initially, I've heard this before from other members on here, perhaps they can make some comments on this, it has to have something with the injecting into the penile tissue in my opinion, I'd avoid this and use a VED, even though it takes more time to gain an erection.

Has anyone ever tried the urethral suppository, Muse? If so, how did it work?

I am proposing you to make a search regarding Muse on:
Erectile Dysfunction - PDS - Peyronies Society Forums
After making a small research on the subject and got some PM's also, I decided not to try.

Thanks, James. The only reference I could find is when Old Man tried it and it caused some burning. I'll check with my urologist as well.

My reason for wanting to try it is in hopes that I can avoid the sinus flushing of Viagra/Cialis and if perhaps I can get stronger erections from using it.

Update: I called the manufacturer of Muse and they told me that Peyronie's is a contraindication for the Muse suppositories because the effect of the drug is localized and more powerful. They advised that I talk to my doctor to see if he thinks it might still be an option for me. I see my urologist on 1/25.

It is not just burning.
The manufacturers is writting clear not to use it if you have Peyronies.

The question is why.  Is there a real reason or is it just a legal safeguard.  If I am not mistaken the other oral Erectile Dysfunction drugs also had a similar warning that it was contra indicated if you have Peyronies Disease.

Hawk, I agree.

I don't understand why, but tomorrow I see my urologist and I'm going to bring the subject up to him. I still get strong erections using Viagra and Cialis and if I use a penis ring, I'm closer to 100%. Since I have no pain with a full erection, I don't see a problem. Perhaps this is a concern for people who have some aspect of Peyronie's where a hard erection is painful and/or in the early stages of Peyronie's. I'm guessing it's just a generalized warning to cover them from lawsuits. I don't know but I'm gonna find out and report back here. Thank you.

I will write down Old Man opinion and experience:
1. The active ingredient comes in a little suppository type injector which has a cover over it that has to be snapped off. It exposes a sharp point about 1/32 inch that can cut into the inside of ones urethra requiring a very adept hand to insert and inject it.

2. If the person is not careful as stated in 1 above, severe bleeding with much pain since some of the med gets into the little cut, etc. The burning sensation gets more severe as time goes on after the injection of the stuff.

3. It will start causing an erection in about a minute or two, not more than 5. After about 10 minutes, the erection is as full as is going to be and will last for from one to three hours based on the individual. In my case it lasted almost the limit of 4 hours and the burning sensation was very disturbing. I only used three of them and quit using them at all.

So, based on that, I would not recommend using it to anyone. BTW, there is a warning in the customer flyer that comes with NOT TO USE IF THE PATIENT HAS Peyronies Disease.

Personally, I will not try it because it sounds to difficult not to make a very costly mistake, but everyone can see it in his way :)

Oh yeah disturbing its the word for that burning feeling I also had.

Hey guys, as promised, here's my report back from my urologist:

Not only did he say that there's no problem using Muse with Peyronie's but he also gave me a free sample of it. Actually he gave me Muse, 2 months worth of 5 mg. Cialis, and a month worth Testosterone!! Great guy. :)

So, according to him, the only annoyance is a possible burning effect in your urethra if you don't have enough residual urine in it to make sure it dissolves quickly. Otherwise he said for me to go have a ball with it. He said that the effect should be more localized and should be a better erection but because of my venous leakage, he doesn't know how well it will work.

The appointment went well. He's a very nice guy and took a lot of time talking to me. He's really not on top of where Xiaflex might play a role in this so I'll probably have to go to yet another urologist when the time comes.

I asked him about getting a duplex ultrasound done and he said in my entire county, there is no one that can do it!! But he also said that to do it would be merely academic unless surgery would be involved, which he also agreed would be a final option.

He thinks I need to meet with Dr. Lue. I agree.

James, I definitely will. I've got it sitting in my refrig right now. I'll be trying it soon as a test to see if it can have a better effect than Viagra or Cialis.

Hi there. Unfortunately I found out the hard way(no pun intended) to not use caverject with Peyronies. My first urologist prescribed it to me, because I also had Erectile Dysfunction, which is ok to use, only if you have Erectile Dysfunction. Trusting in what he told me, I didn't bother reading the product information included in the caverject kit.

Important Safety Information
CAVERJECT should not be used in men hypersensitive to alprostadil, men with conditions that may predispose them to priapism (such as sickle cell anemia or trait, multiple myeloma or leukemia), men with anatomical deformities of the penis (such as angulation, cavernosal fibrosis or Peyronie's disease), men with penile implants, or men for whom sexual activity is inadvisable or is contraindicated.

I wish I read this before. My first urologist prescribed it for several months before I realized that the pain was to much, so I decided to read the pamphlet about undesired side effects, and was surprised to read about the safety information. When I found my second andrologist / urologist, and told her that i was using caverject before having sex,she became mad at me and the other urologist, me because I didn't read the safety precautions, and at the urologist for prescribing it to me without full knowledge of my conditions.

I have since then been through surgery to remove 2 huge plaques, and received semi rigid implants. 3 months have now passed since surgery and I'm feeling better than ever. Make sure that whoever your urologist is, that they absolutely have to know if you have the conditions stated above, because it makes the situation worse, and hurts like hell.

Thanks for your info Jean. Luckily I only used it once, and the pain surely told me about how harmful it was.

Hi there. My location is in Rome Italy. My doctors name is:

Doc. Francesco Sasso
Riparto urologia

Complesso Intergrato Colombus
Via g. Moscati, 31
00168 Roma.

He is my new doctor as the other one went to Milano. He was present during my operation, and has followed me since then. I highly recommend this hospital for whoever is in the Rome area. Otherwise the best urologist in Rome is:

Doc. Diego Pozza
Studio Andrologia / Urologia
Via B. Gozzoli 84

I have had 2 visits with him, but because of cost had to go with the other doctor. His prices range from 150 -250 euros plus tax, but he is the best.

Sargonis,
I had an injection to gain an erection so Doc could give me full bend measurement and ultrasound, but I am not certain that it was caverject.. He warned that in some cases it may take longer than two hours to go down and there would be an ache until it  did. When mine had not gone down after three hours, I was instructed to get and take sudafed tablets.  That worked within ten minutes and the pain went away at the same time. My instructions were that if it still didn't go down, to go to the nearest hospital casualty department, who would be able to help quickly.

Have to wait at least 30 minutes before any effect occurs. Then, unfortunately, injected the opposite side of the first injection with another 10 and still not great results. Erection was good enough to penetrate, but only lasted a few minutes.
