Hi guys,

I was wondering why the "wasting" appears and how it manifests. Maybe someone can enlighten me :)

As far as i know, the scar tissue prevents a part of the penis to be oxigenated, and therefore atrophies. But does that mean that all of the penis loses girth, or just the place where the scar is. Or the part that is under the scar?

If I read about loss of girth, I don't know if it means at the base and all of the body, or if it means the girth of the part where the hourglass appears.

Thanks,

Mark4

Hi Mark4,

It's not an oxygenation problem that causes loss of girth. What actually happens is the scar tissue that forms does not expand as well as the tunica albuginea, the membrane that covers the erectile chambers, therefore indentations and hourglass shapes can appear on the penis only where scar tissue is present. If you put a piece of tape on a balloon and then fill it with air, you can see the phenomenon for yourself.

Poor oxygenation can cause fibrosis, which then causes indentations and loss of girth, but it does not "atrophy" the penis all by itself.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi Skjaldborg,

Yes, that makes sense, thanks a lot :)

Hi,

I understand the wasting on one or more sides of the penis, but i don't really get the "girth".
Is it possible to lose girth on the base of the penis if you have the plaque at the bottom?
As I understand it, if the plaque is, for example, in the middle of the shaft, this would cause an indentation. It makes sense that this part loses girth because it soesn't expand as much, but can the whole penis lose girth?

Thanks a lot and I'm sorry if I sound annoying,

Mark

Your questions are legitimate questions and are not annoying.  :)
To your question:
At the beginning of my Peyronies I started losing girth in the place of the plaque. Slowly slowly I have lost 50% of the girth all along my penis. Lost also 6cm+ from my length. :(
This is how Peyronies worked on me. :(
I gained back with my treatment some girth, now at 60% of the original and gained back 1.25cm length, now just 5cm shorter than the original.
GET ON PENTOX >:(

James, I'm sorry to hear about your losses. Were you able to get erections regularly during the time you lost size?

Yes, I was getting regular erections during this period that basically lasted three years with no treatment, but they was more and more Viagra dependable.
With my actual treatment during one year I am getting back functionality slowly slowly and gaining back length and girth. :)
Maybe in two more years it will be back as was before the Peyronies started? ;D Who knows :)
