Advice needed for the daily vacuuming proccess!

OK... So the new hardware arrived today and I have to prepare myself for a 1/2 hour daily session of getting vacuumed into a tube.  Oh what fun!   (not)

Is it necessary to get lubed up every time? Or can I forget that part of things and just do the vacuum thing dry.

Oh how bizarre this is going to be!   Any tips on how to make the most of my time in the plastic tube?  Does one have to pay attention to it, or can can one work (on a computer, btw)  or do something else during the process?  

Please advise on how you deal with the time-consuming aspect of it all.

Does it make much difference if it is in the morning or evening?

My Dr. initially suggested I bring it to work (since I sit in front of a computer all day) and do it there, but I think we agreed in the end that is not the best place.
