I am writing to give feedback on post implant life. Well, good and bad. The good is sex and orgasm are good overall. The bad is I am disappointed that I still have up to 45 degree bend. I am not happy about that. If it was even 15 percent I would be more than happy. However, i have been told to give it a few more months to stretch and grow. I sure hope so. Overall it was a good op and the length is good. I just thought the implant would straigten out better. I was a 90 degree pre op so 45 is improvement but not the quality I should have. I will report back on this in a month.

I too have had surgery, and today is the start of week five. My implants are rigid, and they feel really good and my sex life with the girlfriend Is better than ever. My questions are:

1. How long ago was your surgery? and do you have some discomfort?

2. How long did it take before you were able to reach orgasm, and ejaculate?

It might be early for me in my post operation, and as my doctor told me that it could take up to 3-6 months. My operation took about 5 hours, removing 2 huge plaques, and covering them with "patches", they also cut the suspensory ligament which made a difference, rigid implants, and circumcision. the pain is gone, except for some discomfort during penetration.

Claude

My surgery was 9 weeks ago. It takes a little longer to orgasm which is good and many times they are explosive orgasm. Mine would be great if I got some of the bend out. It wants to flex because of bend when entering etc. This is why I got operation.

jean claude

I fortunately had very little bend, but the shrinkage was alot due to the plaques. I can't wait until I heal properly. The fact that I have no orgasm yet is ok and not ok with the girlfriend. I hope it happens soon..

Hi there.. I'm now into my 7th week of post surgery. I have no remaining pain, and my sex life with the girlfriend is better than ever. I mentioned that i have not have an orgasm, or ejaculation since the operation. The problem is not psicological, because I feel hornier now than before, and I can start to feel more sensation during sex. My next appointment is on 18/12 with my doctor. I'm not to worried as she told me that it can take up to 3-6 months, but I have a feeling it might be sooner. The other problem I was having, was that my gland was not swelling while feeling aroused, but I'm proud to say that it works to perfection. I will post more on my post op. results as I live them.

Just an update. I am now almost back to a 90 degree with implant. I have a call into my doctor. Makes me wonder about the modeling they said they did.

Ben

what model of implant do you have ? I too have a residual curve while flaccid (I've did not test my implant erect because I'm day 11 post op). Do you cylider are the same lenght ? Mine are about 1 inch different which for sure will curve a bit. In what extent I do not know.

Keep on pumping as it's well know to improve lenght, girth and angle in implanted men.

timk

ScottNM, Strange that the Peyronies Disease hasn't been corrected.

After my OP, my doctor told me that he broke the plaque and put his fists together and made a movement like breaking twigs. And I have been straight since then and have regained both length and girth back to pre-Peyronies Disease days.

I think something might have gone wrong in your OP.

BrooksBro

Jean Claude - I too have what I believe to be a very slight reduction in sensitivity.  This has the effect of delaying what was previously borderline premature ejaculation.  This is not all bad!  Some of it could be mental on my part too.  The surgeon said it is difficult to see the nerves when he places the restraining sutures (Nesbit procedure), so it is possible some of them have been pinched off.

I say it might be mental, because when I masturbate, I seem to orgasm just as quickly as I did before the surgery.  Maybe I am just out of practice with how it feels inside my wife.  I have been using our usual AstroGlide and it seems to dry out too quickly, leaving her with a little discomfort the next day.  When we use Wet Platinum it is too slippery, maybe just using too much of it.  We need more practice, that's all.   ;D

jean claude

Brooksbro- Thanks for the info, but I have great news. Well now I'm starting my 10 week of post surgery, and I'm finally pleased to say that 2 days ago I started to ejaculate, but with less sensation of orgasm. The feeling is there but not as explosive as before. My doctor told me that it could take from 3-6 months so I guess I'm on track. I keep noticing that everyday since my surgery, everything in life just keeps getting better and better.

scottnm i am new to the sire and was great full to read your post, i have not been able to find any new post since you 12-12-12 post. how has your progress been

I think Dr Milam is a good doctor. I think I am one of those rare ones that did not work out as well. I have the AMS700 model and have about a 60 degree bend or better. Basically the bend is back to original angle now. It did not straighten things out hardly at all, if any. I could not afford a third flight back but need to have him look. Maybe they can redo it. I thought they would fix my bend. It is still very awkward but I can have sex. Just not as good if straighter. The diameter is smaller some too. It is better than before because it gets hard. I do not think they did modeling even though they saw my severe bend. I guess they thought the unit would straighten it out. It is not straightening and I pump it up EVERY day up to an hour for almost 10 months.

You should see Dr. Milam as soon as you can. I am sure he will find a solution.

I was at Dr. Milam's yesterday. He told me same as before re bend. That is, it should straighten, but it might not straighten 100%.

Scott

From what I understand it takes some men up to 18 months to straighten. A lot of men finally get close to 100%, it just takes time. I know you do the twice daily inflation, and that will help a lot. Rome was not built in a day and some surgery takes time also.

I have been off the forums for a while due to my back injury and heart problems. I am still in pain even after a nerve stimulator implant, so I may miss a few days. Some how I cannot find your email address. Sent me an email to jwp104@att.net or better yet if you still have my phone number call me.

i really wish you guys would put your age in your profiles it should be mandatory.

Mandatory?  Does age really matter?

yes it does they dont put alot of implants in younger guys or you dont hear about it. Im trying to find out younger guys like the implant.

inkhorn

Noway- I don't know about mandatory, but I think it is a good idea, because it helps how to relate yourself to the guy posting. I am updating my profile. Inkhorn

Special note about age:

It is my considered opinion that the age of a member should be in the profile area. It would then be up to the new member registering as to whether or not he would want his age known.

Should anyone want to know the age of the member, they could check it out in the profile, etc.
Age can be a sensitive subject for some as I know it bothered me at age 24 to tell anyone about my then ''ruined'' dick!!

james1947

In my opinion, inkhorn is right. It makes sense for me to have the age in the profile, but make it mandatory is not a good idea because of some people privacy concerns.

Yes there are younger men with impants that have a active and pleasurable sex life. There are a couple of pictures of a single 24 year old on my blog that had peyronies with hourglassing and ED. He now has a very active sex life with several girl friends. They tell him he is the best they ever had.  :) ;)  :D ;D :o ::) :P

He went to over a dozen doctors and they would not help him because of his age. He went to Dr. Milam at Vanderbilt and he did the implant with modeling for him. Dr. Milam said regardless of age if a man can not have a normal sex life and an implant is the appreciate treatment he has no problem doing it for them. I know of others he had done as well.

I also know of a 20 year old Marine on Bob Bacon's old blog that had an implant. He is now married and has had a baby since the implant.

Regardless of age or marital status if a man fits the protocol for an implant then that is the best option. I could not imagine at 20 not being able to have sex and what it would go to your ego. I will be 71 in October and on October 28, 2008 is when I had my implant. What it has done to restore my sex live with my beautiful green eyed wife there are not words to describe.

See the article I posted about Mending Broken Hearts. It gives Dr. Milam's protocol for peyronies treatment. Yes peyronies will break your heart. Remember there is help and never - ever give up!

Jack:

You tell them about it, my friend!! I agree with you 100% that if a man at any age fits the profile for an implant, go for it.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your input and caring enough to stick around and help others who are dealing with this crap. JackP, we emailed each other a long time ago and you gave me some in-depth analysis of how things have been going with you since you received your, what I would call, near miracle. I have tried a lot of things in the past (Stretching device, Cialis), been trying a lot of things lately (Cialis, VED, PRP injections), and will continue to try a few more things coming down the pipeline (stem cell injections).

To date, nothing seems to be giving me a good solid functioning erection due to there being significant scarring all along both shafts of the penis. I can still get an erection, but it's pathetic and not really good enough for penetration as the tissue simply won't expand due to scarring everywhere. I thought that the PRP injections were going to be the trick, and they have helped, but I'm getting burnt out on all of the pills, potions, devices, etc. I've had this crap for 11 years now, since I was 20, and it has wreaked havoc on my life in so many ways that I'm sure you guys can understand. I have been seeing a urologist at Wake Forest who was the primary researcher for the rabbit tissue engineering trials, but that will still be a little ways off and I'm not sure that I want to wait another 3 years before POSSIBLY getting into the clinical trials and it POSSIBLY work. I feel like my life is slowly slipping away and implant is all that I feel that I will have left after the stem cells.

Questions:
1. I've read a ton about the implant, I used to be 7", now down to about 6 1/2" - 6 2/3", girth has been devastated. Girth was 6 1/2" or so inches before peyronie's, about 5 1/4" now. So the question is did you guys have signficant girth shrinkage before implant? Has that improved significantly?
2. What do you think about penile enlargement (tissue grafting for girth) along with implant?
3. I'm still not clear on how implants affect the glans. Can the glans still become erect or not? Or is this a case-by-case basis?
4. The tissue that holds the urethra is basically erectile tissue too. Do you have latent erections in this area?

These questions are open to all and I appreciate all of your replies!

Best answers you can get from Jack or reading his blog.
Regarding lost of girth and length, I have lost 2" length and half of my girth. So your situation is much better.
The AMS700 LGX will give you back in my opinion what you have lost in my opinion (LGX = Length & Girth Extender)

Please email me again. I would love to give you my phone number so we can talk.  To answer your questions.

1.  Yes I had a lot of shrinkage in girth as well as length. I have regained my youthful girth of 6.28". I am within 1/2" of my youthful length. My lecture about length. Length is a man thing and means very little to women. Women have more feelings for sex with girth. The nerve endings in the vagina are only within 2 inches of the opening.  I went from 6" before peyronies to 4" just before my implant. I asked my wife one day how did I feel to you at 4". She said "Jack, you have always felt the same to me."  I would estimate my girth before the implant at 4.7". Average girth of an adult penis is 4.7 to 5.1 inches.
2.  What do I think about penile enlargement. DO NOT DO IT. I have chatted with many men in Europe and Brazil that have had it done. They say it does not feel normal and wish they could have it taken out. The AMS 700 LGX implant, with the right doctor, should get you close to your natural size. It will not get you larger than your natural size. 7" length and 6.5" girth are well over normal size. That makes us in the top 5% of men with girth. A length of over 7" most women say that when the penis is fully inserted during sex it hurts.
3. The implant has nothing to do with the glans. The implants go in the corpora cavernosum (CC). The glans is part of the corpora sponglosum(CS), which the urethra runs through.  What happens is with an implant the CC's no longer need blood flow. That blood flow will redirect to the CS. In most men it takes 12-24 months. Mine did in 16 months.
4.  Yes you have latent erections in the CS.

In my opinion stem cells for peyronies is many years away. You are well past being a candidate for Xiaflex. Why wait all those years and the FDA turn down or delay further stem cells. With a implant you can regain your sex life in about 6 weeks. In about 18 months you will be close to your old self. It only takes less than 30 seconds to achieve a full erection that will last as long as you, or your partner wants. Ejaculate and keep on going, if you have the strength.  Let a 20 year old try that. 98% of men that have an implant say I wish I had it done years ago.

Hi Jack, I'm going to see a surgeon on the 28th and I'm not sure of what to ask for.. Did your surgeon remove plaques or did they just install the implant?

jackp

egghead

Dr. Milam just dilated my corpora cavernosum's(CC) to put in my implant. I have some scar tissue in my left CC that he had to deal with from my urethra puncture by the first doctor.

In some men the plaque invades the CC and that takes a special surgical instrument to remove. If the surgeon does not do a lot of implants for men with peyronies more than likely he will not have the proper instruments to deal with it. That is what happend on my first implant attempt by a local urologist.

The implant of choice for recovery of penile size from peyronies is the AMS 700 LGX. It is the only implant that expands in both length and girth. If he gives you the "song and dance" that it will not straighten a peyronies curve then find another doctor. Great surgeons that do implants for men with peyronies are rare. Make sure your doctor does at least 100 a year and has an infection rate of less than 1/2 of 1%.  Most infections occur in men that are diabetic.

It is a delicate operation and takes an average of 75 minutes.  Have a written list of questions and take it out in from of the doctor and ask them. Then write down his answers.

Any questions you would like to ask privately just send me a PM or email.

Thanks Jack!

I just sent you an email with my phone number. If you don't mind sending yours I would very much appreciate speaking with you for a few minutes. There are a couple of things that still freak me out about the implant that hopefully you can ease my mind on.
