Hello to everyone,

I am new to this forum, which has given my much hope and information about ways to deal with this problem.

I am 42 and have been diagnosed with Peyronies last April 2012. Initially went to a traditional urologist that gave me VE for a couple of months and as it did not get better, then Potaba... and condition got really worse (from 1 to 3 nodules – April 2012 to August 2012).

Seeking other help I have consulted a general doctor that works with acupuncture and natural medicine. Started an acupuncture program and some supplements, which I am still following (as it has no side-effect I just felt I should try it...). I feel I have improved a bit or at least not getting worse (no pain at all for a month already – I even had occasional pain during day when flaccid).

Recently I consulted another urologist, Peyronies specialized, that prescribed me 400mg Pentox at night, colchicine and some VED therapy for 3 months. Then a new appointment is needed to evaluate stage, curve etc.

Pentox I am ok with it, but colchicine seems too much side effects without really knowing if it will works. Any advice ?

I have gone through a lot of posts to get more info about VED and oral therpy, but there is so much info that I get confused.

Concerning Oral: Can L'Arginine or Curcumin be taken if you take Pentox ? as they are both blood thinners ?

Concerning VED: after reading a lot I decided to order the Soma correct Xtra with 3 cilinders but i do not know how exactly to use it...

- how many times a day ?
- how many minutes ?? 20 minutes each time ? have to maintain erection all this time ?
- what are the 3 cilinders for ??
- what if penis toiuches the plastic cilynder
- precautions ?

Thank you all.

Norm

West,
On the main forum page under the VED topic you will find a detailed 3-Cylinder protocol to go by. PROTOCOL FOR 3 CYLINDER MEDICAL VED'S, 26 WEEK - Peyronies Society Forums

It will tell you how long, how often, and what cylinders to use. As to touching the sides, there is no problem with that. In fact, if you have curvature then you can most certainly expect to touch the sides of the cylinder. Precaution? Rule 1 is , do not do anything that causes pain. Rule 2 is, see Rule 1. You will be alright with it. With vacuum you will have an erection. When you release the vacuum, most of the erection goes back down, though it is normal to have some residual. Just keep repeating according to the protocol. Best of luck to you.

I would like to say my opinion on a few subjects:
1. Pentox. 400mg per day will not help or very little bit. I started also with one, my uro was afraid I will have internal bleeding, after one week increased to two (morning/evening) and will give a try for 3 per day from the next week, hope no side effects. Use the slow release one.
2. L-Arginine is not a blood thinner, it increasing blood flow but may reduce blood pressure as Pentox may do also.
I am taking 2,000mg per day.
3. I never tried colchicine, but taking 1000mg Acetyl L-Carnitine daily. I don't find to much support for colchinine on the forum, but Acetil L - Carnitine have strong support for helping with Peyronies.
4. I am taking also Ubiquinol 200mg daily.

Welcome to the forum :)

Norm and James

Thanks a lot for the support.

I'll try to slowly increase Pentox and try L Arginine. Colchicine seems scary. Possible long term side effects...Any info about wobemzym (said to be a good anti-inflamatory enzym compex) ? . I always avoided general medications, but i have to give it a try. How many months in a row one should carry this Pentox therapy ?

Thanks again

I can answer to your question:
QuoteHow many months in a row one should carry this Pentox therapy ?
My private opinion, all our life, at least some of the therapy components. :)
Even if your Peyronies regressed to a point that is not an issue anymore, a maintenance therapy will avoid (in most cases) a new flareup of the disease.

I think Pentox is usually taken for 18 - 24 months but others that have had it prescribed by cometent urologists can respond.

The supplements are food products and should not generally be the same kind of a concern.

I recall George99 dropped the pentox after a number of years without backsliding, so there may well be a end date for improvement.
