Sorry for the late reply - Been on holiday. ESWT is Electro Shock Wave Therapy and so far it has had no effect on my Peyronies Disease. I have my last treatment next week.

Simpa was last active at November 27, 2012 so we can't learn the results of his third and last treatment with ESWT.
My uro told me also about this "new" treatment, he mentioned that don't have yet conclusive results.
I had a treatment of ESWT to brake up my big stones in the bladder with excellent results, but Peyronies plaques and stones are very different.

There was an Israeli study done on using this to treat Erectile Dysfunction, with marked success as I recall. I will try to find the study.

The first link is to the Israeli study, happily is recent, but is about Erectile Dysfunction and not Peyronies treatment. It is indeed encouraging for Erectile Dysfunction.
The second link is about Erectile Dysfunction also.
If the main reason you want to do ESWT is for Erectile Dysfunction, go for it (my private opinion, I was trying it also but too expensive for me), especially if you don't have to pay for.

I was only really replying in relation to Skunkworks comments. Erectile Dysfunction is not currently a problem for me, though it was actually the first real sign I had that something was seriously wrong when the Peyronies started. Thanks to the combination of Citrulline Malate and Cialis I have no problems at all obtaining or maintaining an erection but the Erectile Dysfunction was already wearing off before I even started them.

On the other hand anything we can do that improves circulation should be useful in fighting Peyronies and preventing future injuries so it might be worth considering from that point of view alone. My main interest though is what it could potentially do to correct curvature. It was suggested by a urologist I see privately so I would have to pay for it.

I mentioned this treatment to my doctor which I live in Canada and it doesn't cost anything. He sais it doesn't work hes a peyronies disease specialist. he basically just shook his head and said no.

Yep those are the ones, and I will explain why I think this applies to peyronie's.

Theses treatments are used to break up gall stones etc right? And yet they have a beneficial effect on pde5 resistant Erectile Dysfunction.

This to me suggests that the treatment is breaking up pockets of fibrosis that are messing with the circulation of the penis. Scarring that is not big enough or not in the right place to cause visible deformation, or to be palpable, but enough to cause problems with circulation.

Then that gets broken up by the shockwaves, letting blood flow better than before, or letting veins close up properly etc. We all know the mechanics of an erection.

That is why I think this treatment could be directly applicable to Peyronie's and would be ecstatic if it was studied in relation to our disease.

I am not suggesting it does or does not work, but I am saying I have a very hard time getting a visual of it. Unless it is busting up plaque in the arteries (nothing to do with scar tissue or Peyronies Disease) I don't get it. It sure isn't breaking up plaque that is causing venous leakage.

My doctor is against surgery for peyronies disease and I live in Canada its not like I will pay him for surgery anyway. Ive mentioned surgery to him and he told me you don't want them messing with it down there. Those were his exact words so im not sure who he was talking about. Too me if it cant hit the heart of the plague then it will be a failure just my opinion. In Canada doctors make far less then in the usa and are capped.

This Extracorporeal shock wave treatment of c... [J Cosmet Laser Ther. 2013] - PubMed - NCBI suggests it can break up fibrosis, which could be causing either poor blood supply or venous leakage.

Where did you get it done? What settings did they use on the machine? For what duration per session? How often?

first session, after two days second session,after 1 week third session, after 15 days fourth session, after 1 month fifth session, after 1 month sixth session.
2000-2500 shots per session, mid-low intensity.
I've done also ultrasuond terapy togheter ESWT.

I have done ESWT to broke my bladder stones.
Can see in real time the bombardment of the stone and how it chips out small flakes from it. It was high intensity.
I suppose for Peyronies plaques they bombard the plaque to soften it or maybe to brake it?

The machine to broke the bladder stones was not the machine they used for my peyronie.
There are different machines that are called whit the same name ESWT.
