The saga of the curved penis
« on: September 17, 2012, 01:39:44 AM »

Hi all,
new to this forum. I am glad I found this, looks like a great supportive community of men.
I am 29 years old living in California. In 2003, I was diagnosed with a urethral stricture by my urologist and necessary surgery was done. My urologist also noticed the curve in my penis and recommended surger for that. This is when I first learned of "peyronie's disease." I never had much problem with sexual function because of the curve, but it did lower my self esteem which in effect hurt my sex life.
My urologist ended up losing his practice in 2006 due to sexual activities in the examining room with one of his patients, so that's a whole bucket o' weird right there, but that's another story for my therapist  :o

Anyway, I still have a bend in my penis even after all these years and after surgery. It is not as seroius as before, but it can still make me self concious. I would say it is 10-15°, possibly 20? Yes, I did lost some length after the surgery and would like to regain that if possible.

Basically I am here to seek out remedies in order to straighten out my guy. I just learned about traction devices and this would appear to be the route for me.. I don't want to go through more surgery.
I also have problems getting and maintaining a strong erection at times. I have a feeling it's all in my head and that thinking about my bent penis causes me to have low self esteem and lose sexual attraction with the person i am with. I still can get a full hard erection and ejaculate at other times so I know there was no permanent damage done by my two penis surgeries.

Looking for enlightenment on the next steps to take. I want to live a happy, healthy, fulfilling sex life while I am young!

I do think any curvature can play on a persons mind, but two more important factors are: 1) is the curvature getting any worse? 2) does it interfere with sexual functioning?  If it isn't getting worse or impacting sexual functioning then you're not in bad shape at all. I'd suggest trying Viagra or Cialis to see if that helps with erections. Traction might help, but it tends to improve rather than entirely correct curvature, and as your curvature isn't that bad anyway, maybe nothing less than a perfectly straight penis would change the way you feel about it? Just my take :). I appreciate that it's easy to fixate on this condition and that mentally it can take its toll in many ways.

I will second Newguy entire post. Penises are coming in different shapes, no shape is an ideal one and 10, 15 or even 20 degree is really not much.
Ads I understand from your post, your bend is not an obstacle for intercourse.
My opinion is that you are obsessed too much with how your penis shape is.
Take time and read the posts on the forum regarding Peyronies treatments and Erectile Dysfunction treatments. It will give you better tools to assess your situation.

Thanks guys-
I have actually always thought of curved penises as erotic and even "kinky" if you will (which is a very good thing IMO)-
I guess it is my own perfectionism coming out that wants to have the perfect straight cock.
I've always had a good time with him, and so have my sex partners, so I really should just accept it.
I am 6.5" erect (I was probably around 7" before the surgery) so, would you recommend any of these exercises to try to get back to 7"+? It's always nice to be at least 7". But the thought of wearing those weird devices for hours a day seems like a lot to go through for something that may not even work.

6.5" is above the average, I  will not bother myself with the subject for adding 1/2". Those extenders may be usefull but also may damage. Why to take a risk?
I have lost to Peyronies 2", from 7" down to 5", I will be very happy to get back even 1"
