Ejaculation and Inflammation

I recently read, in an eastern medicine Peyronies Disease treatment book, that ejaculation actually causes inflammation in and around the testicles and penis as part of the normal process of releasing sperm. It also states that regular ejaculation is bad for an individual as it releases inflammation throughout the body that can cause problems. This book, which I don't yet trust, recommends ejaculating as little as possible to avoid the potential of this inflammation causing the Peyronies Disease to worsen. I regularly ejaculate and now am second guessing everything I thought I knew before.

The book actually tells you to abstain/cut back completely if possible until your Peyronies Disease is gone. Is there merit to these claims? I am in my mid 20's and my sex drive is very high so this presents a problem for me. What is interesting is when I do ejaculate, immediately after my scarring and urethra does feel slightly inflamed.

This does not pass the sniff test to me.  Of course it probably all depends on to the extent of your injury or scarring.

I would use common sence on this one.

What else do they recommend?

I read a book about Asian Aphrodisiacs. In the book was translation from an old Chinese script, hundreds or maybe thousands of years old that explained how "Semen Retention" contributes to good health and long life. :(
From the other side, I read researches (didn't save the http as it was long time ago) that stated clear that ejaculation contributes to good health and long life because the semen regeneration. :)
Quiet confusing, myself prefer the researches opinion from clear reasons ;D

I do know that if I ejaculate my penis hurts for a day or so afterwards even if I don't touch the area where the peyronies is. So it wouldn't surprise me if it causes inflamation

What its the name of this book? I know a group of individuals who are severely affected by chronic inflammation, basically they did a forum about "overmasturbation" some years ago and I am a member since two. Being very active ejaculators its the only thing we all share but it could be just a bat crap crazy theory. We are inflammed but a lot of things do cause it like chronic infections, toxins etc

This "eastern medicine" claim is not scientific.

Ejaculation is a natural body process which has nothing to do with the inflammatory response of the body. If you do have soreness after ejaculation, you might have an existing problem with the prostate, urinary tract or your testicles or the erection/stimulation you used to achieve orgasm put a strain on already inflamed Peyronie's scar tissue. I can't find any reputable information about how the production and release of semen could cause Peyronie's or affect existing Peyronie's.

This is one more in a long list of things that is useless and has no scientific basis. Granted, there are useful aspects of "eastern medicine:" Consumption of teas with antioxidants, emphasis on a balanced diet, low-impact exercise like Yoga, Tai Chi, etc. but these can all be verified scientifically. This claim cannot be verified.

You can, of course, choose not to ejaculate, it's probably not harmful, but your body will release naturally during sleep called "nocturnal emissions" or wet dreams. There is even research showing that regular ejaculation can reduce prostate cancer risk, which is a condition much more common than Peyronie's and it can kill you. Links:

There IS a condition where ejaculate is incredibly painful for some men.  Essentially your body is allergic to your own semen.  After ejaculation they will have a ton of pain and basically an allergic reaction.  I don't know the name of this condition but I have heard of it before.

I will second Skjaldborg regarding
QuoteThis "eastern medicine" claim is not scientific.
I bought a book to have what to read  8) in a 13 hour flight regarding Far East aphrodisiacs and ejaculation retention theories.
I have tried some of the things there, nothing worked for me  :( but the author get his $$  8)

I will second Skjaldborg.  Everything he said in his post was dead on !  Not withstanding someone can have a rare condition where they are allergic to sunlight, their spouse, semen, or peanuts.  Allergies are ABNORMAL reactions that have nothing to do with the natural physiology of the human body.  If fact they are noted as allergies because the body acts contrary to its natural response.  We are not here to talk about wild ideas with absolutely NO BASIS or witchcraft.  We are here to evaluate real evidence and help men with real solutions to real problems.

I know it sounds weird but I've read stories of people who have had this type of reaction: Burning semen haunts Gulf War vets - Boxing Forum.

It's incredibly rare but some men DO have incredible pain after ejaculation - I believe it's not just contained in the penis but can affect their bodies.  It sounds weird but I think there's a medical basis for this.  I'd say the symptom is incredible pain on ejaculation and the theory is some protein in the semen interacts with the body in a painful way.  Again, it's rare but something I've read about before and not just conjecture and witchcraft.

A couple of points.  One is it may be real.  Because it is printed somewhere does not make it true.

If it is real, it has nothing whatsoever to do with Peyronies Disease and can be discussed in the Off Topic Board.  That is why we made that board.

In my eperience this is true. I ejaculated and went to sleep. Woke up with left testicle pain. My doctor exmained me last week and diagnosed epididymitis. No antibiotics just tylonel. My symptoms are better and I mostly have thigh pain somtimes and feel groggy when I wake up. Before that day, I had a penis injury from over masterbation which hasn't been diagnosed yet. I waited 9 days without masterbating then on the 9th day and 11th day I masterbated. The 11th day is when I had left testicle pain. My experience is masterbating on an injury gave me epididdymis which is different from peyroonies. I need to go see my doctor to diagnose me for the bend 10-20 dgree bend in the bottom shaft of my penis. I don't know why it happened but I was masterbating 4-5x per day for over a week - double my regular amount. This is double my regular amount. I don't know why I was so horny that week.

Usual Jack off Scheduale
2-3x per day (morning, mid-day, late night)
Once per week - 4-6x per day
Once per week - 1-2x per day

Abnormal Jack off schedule
4-5x per day approx. 1 week

I think there is something to this. Always feels "achier" if I ejaculate too often. My penis felt the best when I went 14 days nofap a few months ago. Felt like it my penis appreciated the break.  More spontaneous erections too. Especially on moving trains sitting down, for some reason. I went 30 days a few times and penis always felt a little better.  The first 30 day stint was a month before peyronies--right after I got too much arnica on it and had some bad inflammation issues. This helped. I was mostly healed and then a month later I did something stupid and precipitated the peyronoes or some kind of corporal fibrosis.  Even tried a water fast after problems started too (wanted to try everything--had better erections on this). At the same time I cut back masturbation. felt better with 1x/ week frequency and no long masturbatory sessions to further inflame things down there. Heard it also increases testosterone--read somewhere there can be a link between peyronies and healing and low/lower T.

Appreciate your observations. Very interesting topic of discussion.  I'm composing on an iPhone with an autocorrect dictator inside, so excuse semantic or any other erros. It's also 2am here! All the best!
