James, I know this is a bit of an older post but I'm seeing my urologist on 1/25 and I'm gonna ask for a prescription of Muse and see if that has a stronger effect on erections. My venous leakage really sucks.

I am pretty interested in your results.  It is the only Erectile Dysfunction treatment I have not used.

Hawk, I did speak to the manufacturer of Muse and they told me that Muse is indeed contraindicated for Peyronie's because the medication is localized to the penis and is stronger than by pill. I'm not sure how this would relate to Caverject but as per your serious warnings, I'm not going anywhere near Caverject.

I don't think the maker of Muse entirely understands Peyronie's (as if anyone really does) but a 100% firm erection is not gonna do anything to me beyond make me outrageously happy. Unless I'm missing something here, I see no reason why I shouldn't give this a try.

As I mentioned, I see my urologist on 1/25 and hope to walk out with a prescription to this, among other scripts, try it, and report back. I have an online coupon to get 6 applications for $20. If this works as I hope, I can stop freaking out about venous leakage and just focus on the bend.

Hi guys,
Does anyone know why caverject has a maximal dosage of just 40mcg while MUSE (which is essentially the same drug) has dosages into the hundreds and a maximum of 1000mcg?

It's because Caverject is a straight shot into the penile system whereas Muse has to still be absorbed.

I'm gonna get my haircut and then come home and drop 250 mcg of Muse into my penis. I'll let you know how it goes.

Big night tonite eh dude!!  ;)  Please do let me know. As I'm a young guy I'm going to try the 125mcg Muse, myself.

Yeah, I wish it were a big nite. :)

I tried the 250 mcg. and yeah, it worked to get an erection but not better than Viagra. It doesn't give me sinus congestion like Viagra or Cialis.

It did cause very minor burning but not bad enough to make me not want to take it again. I just followed the directions and rubbed my penis to make sure the drug dissolved quickly.

If you're looking for something that will allow you to have sex with someone that would normally not give you an erection, Muse doesn't seem to be it. You will still have to have sexual stimulation by someone to whom you're attracted to in order to get a proper erection.

Perhaps Caverject is the better option in this case.

Does it state that in the directions, that sexual arousal is required, or might it not simply be that you're twice my age (no offence)?

I responded to your PM.

Actually my problem is venous leakage not age. I can't get the blood to stay in my penis because of the Peyronie's. Up until the late part of 2011, I had no problem with getting a full erection. As the Peyronie's got worse, so did the quality of my erection. I'm as horny as hell since my testosterone is keeping my libido at maximum overdrive.

What a nightmare. :(

Sexual arousal is needed because when I stopped looking at porn, my erection went down. When I went back to looking at it, the erection went up again. So, yeah, at least for me, sexual arousal is needed.

As I mentioned in the PM to you, maybe Caverject or a "Trimix" might be better for what you are trying to accomplish.

EDIT: Hover over the word, "Trimix" and I think you have your answer. ;)

Matt

If Muse gives you the same erection as Viagra or Cialis without the side effects and the burning is minor sounds, not bad
How long time from inserting it until full effect?
It was easy to insert?
How long the burning lasted?
Let us know your next experiment.

If you will try it, give us a report also.

Hi James,

The full effect of the Muse happened for me within 2 minutes although the directions say it should happen within 5-10 minutes. It's nice to see my penis responds quickly to something.  :P

Insertion was easy. I urinated first, shaked off excess urine, stretched my penis up, very gently inserted applicator, then pushed the release button, and slowly retracted the plastic applicator. Then, I rubbed my penis between my hands for about a minute and made sure the dose dissolved.

The burning was slight and lasted for about a minute or so. As I mentioned, it was nowhere near bad enough to make me not want to use it again.

If I could, I would use it every day because after about 18 hours, it still gave me a "relaxed chubby", i.e. it kept my penis more engorged than the 5 mg of Cialis and without that damn sinus congestion.

I have an appointment on 4/24 to see my urologist about Trimix. I'll let you know how it goes.

James,

I would try MUSE but the problem is I suspect I would only need the lowest possible dose at 125mcg and unfortunately that is the only dose I can't get through a private online prescription service (without needing to persuade a GP face to face). I can get the 250mcg though. I'm speaking to my GP on Thursday to see if he can do me a private prescription for the lowest dose MUSE, though I suspect he won't and will just refer me to an NHS urologist, who in turn keeps sending me to psychotherapy and worse case scenario NHS psychiatry. I find out if that's what he will say possibly tomorrow.

I have a private urologist who was reluctantly willing to show me how to use the caverject injection at the next appointment after blood tests and trying levitra (I've now done both), I know he'd be more willing if it was MUSE I wanted injecting, but then I've come full circle haven't I. I could probably get the private urologist to prescribe MUSE, but then that's back to him again to be shown how to inject it (kaching!!). I do wonder whether there's all that much difference between the 125 and the 250 as some sources on line state them as the starting doses, but then I don't want to end up with priapism.

Matt, you say that the drug had effects for 18 hours after you injected, that's a bit worrying isn't it? What dose of MUSE were you taking?

I took the 250 mcg dose and the residual effect has only been to keep good blood flow, not a solid erection.

You say you required constant stimulation, the porn and your hand? I wonder if that is how it's meant to work because it does say in the instructions that you should walk around for 5 minutes or so after injection, so I'm presuming you're implying the stimulation was required after you noticed something happening?

The erection started all by itself but to maintain it, I had to constantly stimulate myself. It could be because I have venous leakage. I don't know but certainly it's worth taking a look at.

I just ordered 2 of the 250mcg pellets and I'm waiting for the online doctor to prescribe or decline. I'd gladly trade them if I could for 125's because they're not available anywhere as far as I can see in the UK without a private prescription and I'm sure that would be enough. Lying down helps kill the erection doesn't it. I'm extremely nervous about using the drug even though the chances of allergic reaction and prolonged erection are very small.
