Hi guys,

I'm new here.  Late 30's, in reasonably good health (beyond urological issues explained below), and I was diagnosed with Peyronies Disease two months ago, after noticing my penis suddenly curving to the left and some level of soreness/pain at times.  No issues with erections, other than that they aren't straight, but I do lack a desire to be with my wife, due to embarrassment.

My first urologist just said take two ibuprofen a day and see me in 3 months... I wasn't satisfied with that, so I sought out a Peyronies Disease specialist, and I just finished with my second appointment with him, which included an ultrasound.  Peyronies Disease confirmed, and the recommendation is Pentox, Cialis and a FastSIZE traction device.  He also does do vermapafil (sp?) injections, but says my case isn't bad enough to warrant it and he doesn't recommend it for me.

So... guys, I want to make sure that I'm on the right course here.  I DO NOT want to do any further damage to my penis, which is my main concern with a traction device.  Any opinions on them?  Any links to medical journals indicating that they are safe for Peyronies Disease patients?  Also, my fully erect penis is only about 4.5 inches, maybe a slight bit shorter due to Peyronies Disease, so is a traction device too big for me?  I am overweight, so it has to also push up against my fat pad on my abdomen.  I'm excited that this might fix my problem and if I get any other benefits, I would be even more ecstatic.

Mainly I want to make sure that I heal the Peyronies Disease and no further damage occurs and preferably straighten out my penis and lose any lost length that there may be.

Other complications.... I have had chronic prostatitis for at least 7 years.  I get flare-ups with stress, and Peyronies Disease has definitely given me stress....... along with a death in the family, changing jobs, and not feeling too much like having relations with my wife due to embarrassment.

Also, the doc says my testosterone is low and is putting me on clomid to cause my testes to generate more.  I frankly think that low-t is partially due to my weight and the stress that Peyronies Disease has put me under.  My libido lowered immediately after discovering the problem. Is this something any of you have experienced?  I opted against replacement therapy, because we hope to get pregnant at some point and I also don't want my testicles to shrink.

Thank you guys.  It's amazing that such a forum exists.

Jamesw,

Welcome, unfortunately, to the forum. It sounds like your doctor is on the right track. Bravo to you for not listening to your first uro and seeking out a Peyronies Disease specialist. Traction has been suggest by the best Peyronies Disease specialists. It is like anything else in that you must use it carefully. Anything done in excess can do damage. Fastsize was primarily marketed for treatment of Peyronies, but I think they all work pretty much the same way. Just don't follow the instructions for penis lengthening. It gets too aggressive too quickly. You simply need to wear it to provide a pretty good stretch to your penis while flaccid.

Yes, jackp highly reccomends Dr. Milam.  Additionally, you might consider Dr. Chad Ritenour in Atlanta, GA.
