Hey, Tim468 hasn't been active for about 6 months according to his profile.

I hope he's well and will drop the forum a post!

Tim is a fountain of incredible knowledge regarding this condition and certainly helped me cope with my situation when I was first diagnosed!  He was a proficient poster during some of the forum's "salad days", IMO, back when Old Man, Hawk, George999, Tim468, Angus, newguy, jackp and many others would "hash-out" causes and remdies.

Thanks Tim468!

I read many of Tim468 posts while reading the forum boards back to the forum start.
Indeed he was a very active member in the past.
His last post was at August 12, 2011.
Hope everything is OK with him.

Hey all,

I don't think Tim468 will mind me posting that he sent me a pm which sounded like he's doing fine!

To quote Mark Twain (accurately): "The report of my death was an exaggeration."

I moved across the country to start a new job. It has kept me busy!

I also had a bit of burn out on the boards. I still think that newcomers really need a "best of" the boards to get up to speed early on (there is such a thing here, of course - but it is under-utilized).

All is well. Routine weekly VED'ing, and weekly very low dose cialis keeps things as they are for me. I am now starting to work on diet and exercise in earnest (10 pounds and counting), to get into a real anti-inflammatory state.

Tim!  So very good to hear from you and to hear that everything is going well with you.  For a while around here there was a bit of concern about you.  But I think once we heard via Cowboy that you were OK, that eased our concerns a lot.  I hope your new job position is working out well.  Sometimes it can be good to have a job change, but it has its own stresses as well (as everything do).

I suspect the problem with newcomers is that they are looking for SUPPORT on a PERSONAL level as much or more than they are looking for INFORMATION when they come here.  Thus they usually just scrawl something where ever they happen to land asking the same questions that have been asked over and over and over and leaving James to try to keep up with it all.  But support on a personal level is what the members of this community do best and I think we can all be proud of that!  For the most part they won't find that kind of support at their doctors office, unfortunately.  So no matter how well we organize the key resources, these guys will still need a bit of hand holding to deal with the emotional side and to bring them up to speed on those things relevant on a personal level.

Congratulations on the weight loss!  I cannot imagine any tougher profession than medicine when it comes to trying to achieve a healthy lifestyle.  Its just so ironic that those charged with keeping us all healthy are put in a position where their own health is literally jeopardized by their job environment.

In any case, so very good to hear from you again first hand, and I wish you all the best with your lifestyle change agenda.  I can assure you that it will pay you huge dividends in a progressive fashion as you move forward with it.

Blessings!  - George
