I am new to this site. So I have approx 90 degree bend starting about half length of penis. I suffer from ED now. When I take a "pill" it has a slight indent at the inside of 90. The pain has gone mostly. I take C10 and Arg something. I feel tissue bump in inside of curve about 1 1/2" long and 3/8" thick maybe. What operation do you thing best fits my situation?

Welcome to the forum.
You was diagnosed by the doctor that you have Peyronies?
The symptoms you describe are pointing to yes, but did your uro stated that?

Did the uro put you on some oral treatment?
Taking just CoQ10 and Arginine (or L-Arginine) is not a full treatment. You would like to add Pentox and low dose Cialis if you want to see some improvement. VED will help also.

To your question regarding surgery what I can say is that surgery is a last resort and not the first one.
Many forum members had different level of success with oral treatment and VED or traction devices.

We, the forum members are not doctors, but this forum have accumulated huge knowledge during the years from the members experience. I am advising you to spend time and read much as possible and be ready for 15 July when you will have your ultrasound when I suppose you will meat with your uro also.
Remember that Pentox is the first line oral treatment for Peyronies! Learn the subject, some uro's are not up to date.

Yes I have peyroines. My dr is Wayne W. Kuang, M.D. at Albuquerque Urology associates. He has a good rep from what I have heard. Any recommendations? I was on some med also. Oral meds is not going to fix this. That I know.

ScottNM,

I agree that surgery is a last resort. I also realize that with a 90 degree bend, that non-surgical treatments are likely not going to get you the curvature reduction you are looking for. I have not heard of this doctor. Just make sure he truly specializes in the treatment of Peyronies Disease.

I agree with Les 90 deg is quite a bend. I dont believe anything less than surg will do you any good. Cant believe you dont have any pain. Isn't sex impossible?  I was told that inability of have relations is one big deciding factor on whether surgery is needed.

I hear your frustration. I was in a similar position, "How long an i going to have to deal with this? what we are doing now is just spinning my wheels."

Is this doctor a specialist in peyronies and/or male sexual disfunctions?
My opinion is to get another Dr's opinion.

ScottNM

The pain has going away mostly. Who are recommended doctors? Any great ones in the SW area, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Denver maybe San diego or LA?

So would an implant without straightening operation, straighten out the penis some of its own? Is this an option. The pain level is low.

LWillisjr

I believe if you required an implant that either the implant would straighten you out, or they would combine the implant surgery with something to straighten you. But normally you wouldn't get an implant unless you were not able to acheive and erection priot to.

For peyronies with ED Dr. Milam at Vanderbilt says the "Gold Standard" is an implant with modeling.

The modeling will straighten your penis and the AMS 700 LGX will help restore lost penile size. The most common complaint from men with peyronies is loss of penile size.

You can find the Sexual Health Inventory for Men on google. It will help you determine the quality of your erections.

Jack,
I agree that the sexual health inventory for men is a pretty good indicator for erection quality. Where I have a concern with it is the question where it asks about being "hard enough for penetration". Thinking of 0% as flaccid and 100% rock hard... think of an example where a person has a 70% erection. Hard enough of penetration but not so rack hard that your are highly susceptible to trauma during intercourse. Most definitions would not consider this as ED, and therefore most men would think they are OK. It is cases like this where I think a little Viagra or Cialis in low doses is good to get back to the that rock hard state. If a person with a 70% erection doesn't think he has ED.... then he won't see a need for it. Even the def intion of ED says the "inability to achieve an erection".

I cannot get much of a erection without cialas or something similar. I think some is psycholigical. Been through a bad relationship for a long time. Not sure how much the peyroines supports that. I get headaches from that stuff. I get soft erections that wont penetrate unless I take a headache pill.

ScottNM

I had my ultrasound and visit with my uroligist. I have a severe 90 degree bend with wasting (hour glass). He says placation would shorten more with that degree and not due away with wasting in center. Grafting would make my current ED worse. There is no good option other than a Penile implant. Kinda depressed about it now. Guess I have to learn about implants. I dont like losing "spontenaity. Seems like a woman would notice and not be as complimented. anyway

BrooksBro

We appear to have about the same condition (90 deg bend, ED, and "dent").  I just started my second round of six Verapamil injections.  There was some improvement in my plaque size after the first six; no improvement in curve.

You should not have any concerns about spontaneity with an inflatable implant.  If, like me, you have to use Viagra (or other medications), being freed from the 2-hours of pre-planning would be a welcome improvement.

Just pump and it's there.  I attended a public forum where a couple in their early 70s talked about their life after he got an inflatable implant. Both were very pleased.  She seemed "giddy" that he would stay erect for a long time.

james1947

ScottNM

Regarding spontaneity and implant, as I understand from reading the forum and other forums, everyone get just good inputs from woman.
Like: I never had a man that can stay for me as long as I want; You are the best I ever had; etc' ;D
It take short time to inflate and can be done during forplay

I am just waiting for the moment I will be able to do the implant

Does anyone know how noticeable the pump is within the scrotem? I mean is it this big hard shaped addition under the scrotum easily detected?

jackp

Scott

The pump is about the size of the end of your thumb. Smaller than a normal testicle. It is not noticeable by just looking. It does take some time to get use to. You will need to ware good support for about 6 weeks. I recommend the Jockey Pouch Briefs. They offer as much support as a jock strap with out the discomfort. You will also be told to ware your penis up on your stomach for about 6 weeks. The special H cut of the Pouch Briefs helps hold you up. (It is easier than you might think.)

I have some additional information I can foreword you by email. If you would like send me an email to jwp104@att.net
