Hey everyone,

Call me A.D.D. but I swear I've read a million posts here and it seems to me that there are no real success stories.  A lot of men here are talking about surgery and then they seem to disappear.  Maybe they're too busy having sex?  Anyhoo, apparently there's Dr. Lue and his 16 bit procedure, then there's the guy in Dallas, Dr. Morey, who promises to do a similar procedure without degloving, then there's the incision grafting doctors.  I have researched a Dr., I believe he's in India, who promises all sorts of miracles but nobody seems to talk about him.  I can't remember his name but I think it begins with a 'K'. Oh, he does the 'FLAP' thing. I am READY TO PULL THE TRIGGER and would love some feedback from some happy men with happy penises and wives.  Any takers???? 8)

There are many men on this forum with success stories. Lswillisjr and mine for example.

What happens I get several emails and PM's a week from men all over the world. A lot of men do not want to post there problems on a public forum so they privately ask questions and I am happy to answer them.

Most use what I call a disposable email and pin names. Once they get the help the need they disappear and do not share there successful results.

Some men choose the wrong doctor and are looking for a great doctor at revisions. There are very few doctors that are great at revisions. Dr. Milam at Vanderbilt is probally the best in the world. A lot of his practice is fixing things other doctors mess up. The doctors that mess up most are general practice urologist.

BEWARE in several countries outside the US there are "Doctors" preying on men with penile problems. They offer radical procedures and the patient ends up with a penis that is not natural. Men that have not been circumcised are for these procedures. The best procedure is one that leaves you with a natural looking and feeling penis.

If you take the time to read my blog there are success stories there. There are also stories from men that used the wrong doctors and ended up with less than desirable results.

Again you say there are no real success stories here. Well open your eyes and you will find them. (Sorry to be so blunt but they are here.)

I couldn't agree with you more Jack  :)

I also am one who had a successful curvature correction from Peyronies with surgery. I also get PM's and emails from men and women who are asking questions. There are several men who have had successful surgeries and have posted these in the success stories board. Many of these guys more on and don't read and post here as often but are still available to talk too. I have attempted to stay in contact with as many men as possible in order to help and refer others. I didn't have anyone to talk to when I discovered this disease, and I want to offer support to others whose life paths cross ours here on this forum.

So yes.... I am happy again with my penis and so is my wife.

The other guys are right, when people have a positive outcome they often don't stick around, or think to find the forum in the first place. There are no doubt many thousands of men out there with successful surgery stories that they never felt the desire to share with others.

Yes, Newguy is 100% right.

Many members suddenly became inactive after some surgery, implant or some other successful procedure, just disappearing.

I also remember back some two years ago when I was reading the board as guest one guy post:
"I had the nesbit 2 months ago, back to normal, never see you again, ciao"
No details, no explanations, just disappeared.

Squonk,

Hang in there!

Newguy and James are correct.

Also, please try to see some of the urologists recommended on this site.  I'm sure they could illuminate to you successful surgeries for this condition.  I know the urologist I see in my area, Dr. Ritenour in Atlanta, has told me he has performed many surgeries for this condition with "successful outcomes."  I have no reason to doubt his credibility.

I agree with everyone so far. Allot of people get their stuff fixed they are gone! They don't care.
And lets get real unless you've been to that doctor you really dint know how good he is. I don't know about going over seas. We all have limitations on what doctor we can see(at leaset i do not, I have BCBS/health select through my work) I don't have 20 to 30 thousand dollars to spend out of my pocket and i cant fly on my jet to another country to see a doctor that MAY be able to help you. So we all have to do what we can.

Ive gone to GPs in the past because some one said they were GREAT and he wasn't worth a damn. so you have to go with what YOU think and lets admit it allot is luck of the draw.  That's just how our health care system is today. Its a money maker for investors first then comes patient care.

since you mentined it i just got back in town from seeing Dr Morey in Dallas. He seems to be good, Ive looked into his background and pulled up his BIO and looks good to me. Deals with peyronies and uro tract reconstruction allot, says he does at least several hundred surgeries and or implants a year. But who really knows.
I feel comfortable with him.

He said i didn't have peyronies but many other tissue issues that cause peyronies type damage.  The corrective action is basically the same to correct the issue. He said no injections or meds would help all he could do is surgery to correct the tissue issues and put in an implant to get it back to normal.  I will know more on the 8th of june. I am documenting all the procedures for future reference for any one needing support.  Drop back by after the 8th and i will fill you in.  Right now i cant give any advise like the other guys thats gone through with the surg but i am willing to share after i experience mine.

james1947

I agree that is difficult to find a doctor that can be trusted and if you feel comfortable with one you should go with.

As I'm am living in the Far East, I have asked proposals regarding implant from Singapore (they are asking US$ 33,000 ) and from Thailand (they are asking US$ 24,000) and both prices does not include "surprises", I mean if have complications.
Both also didn't answer to my questions regarding the doctors experience in Peyronies and Implants.

So I am putting beside money slowly slowly to do it with Dr. Millam in Tennessee. He is one of the best from what I am reading and the price is also lower.

Reynell, don't forget us if everything going fine with you!

I promise that no matter what i will stick with every one. I'm not trying to be a Jackp or anything, but I feel a calling to try and help guys with this problem. I know how this type of illness affects you mentally and physically. Jack has been so inspiring to he and helpfull as well as the old man, you James and everyone else.  I told my wife that i am going to document my experiences maybe i can help others. :)

One day your up beat and ready to whip it and the next day, should i just learn to live with it. Its  hard to deal with things that no one wants to hear about like peyronies. Most Dr's don't know or don't care. And its sad that more cant be done.  I heard on the news the other day that hundreds on hours and million have been spent on how to get catsup out of a bottle more efficiently, when people are suffering from many things like peyronies. It just sickens me when i see money wasted like that ! >:(

I am sure that your documentation it will be useful for everyone new to this disease.

I am also sure that Jack only reason to make his blog was to help others with this disease.
Old Man same with his advices.

Regarding money invested on
Quotehow to get catsup out of a bottle more efficiently
I don't have complains as it is someone private money and he can do with it what he want, I mean to make more money.
From the other side, I agree with you that money should be spent to find solution for the Peyronies, but it should come from governments. They have interest to invest in people health as in the long run will reduce the country spending on health care.

I begin to believe in some mysticism, maybe we were chosen to suffer to be tested? Who knows!!!
Our conversation may fit better to the "Psychological Component - Coping with Peyronies Disease" but is fine here also :)

I too am new to this and went to see Dr. Levine at Rush in Chicago. (I am told he is very good)  I have a lot of plaques all over and he suggested the degloving surgery.  He did say I could try the V-injections but that there was a 55% chance it would work.  I still have pain on erection and have started Pento and L=argen but was told that would not reverse the problem.  I have had really bad luck with a number of other surgeries in the past and am VERY worried about having this procedure. They even say it can cause "shrinkage" which I really can't afford!  I would love it if someone who had this surgery could tell me how painful it was and how long was the recovery.  Did you have success and is it worth it?  Should i give the shots a try first?  Pretty depressing.

groundsource,
Click on the globe to the left of my posts and this will take you to my personal story. Levine is also my doctor and I feel he is among just a handful of outstanding doctors in this field. I had the surgery and was very successful for me. Happy to talk or answer any questions. Post or PM me.
