im 27 and want to start taking something for e.d.  I can't get an erection when I try to have sex.  Ive never taken anything before so im not really sure about ads I see on tv, the internet or the radio.  I'd like to try cilias or something like that but im not sure if im too young to get a rx.  is there anything I can take over the counter that will help?  is a med from tv or online ok to take or that anyone can recommend?  preferably something not too expensive but something that works.  This is a new area for me so i'd appreciate some feedback/advice, thanks

I have tried only a couple of OTC meds and you might as well as flush your money away.  Out of curiosity i purchased enzyte (smilin Bobs choice) and it cost around 35 or 40 dollars for a months supply. Reading the instructions it advised that you would have to be on it at least 60 to 90 days to see any affects and then you have to take it every day to keep it in your system.  A costly joke.

I once tried Viagra and it didn't do anything for me. So i am very Leary of catch all medications.

If i were you i would see my GP then a specialist and see what the problem is could be mental or physical or a combo of both.  Try what your Dr suggests and do lots of research.  Even doing what your Dr suggesters is going to hit and miss and probably through a little money away but at least it would be heading in the right direction.

Good luck

One area i forgot. If your not having any physical abnormalities of the penis and only ED symptom you are on a better foot than most.  I am not a doctor but i know that some one as young as you are and if otherwise healthy i would focus on exercise eating right etc.  You know all that stuff they say about living well for heart health.  My Dr told me that the best way to keep it working good is to take care of you heart and blood pressure, stay away from smoking, drinking drugs and eat healthy.  All this is good for the sex drive and sex performace. Are you going through any stress full issues at this time like divorce, death, depression or school issues?

Years ago when i was overly stressed at work before i developed Peyronies Disease i couldn't get it up for nothing.  If you are other wise healthy sounds  like stress etc.  But i would definitely see a Dr before i wasted any money on TV gimmicks.

Good luck

I will second reynell regarding medications that makes miracles. Is waist of money, and as reynell has stated they are writing to take at least 60 to 90 days to see the effect, it means two or three months of a good income source for them.

I will second reynell also regarding to see a doctor. You have to see a male disfunctions specialist and not a regular uro.
Be carefull with injections to induce erection!!! Injection in the penis has caused scar tissues (IE Peyronie's) for many!!!

I have tried Viagra for intercourse with very good results (now with my Peyronie's, much less results). Less good results from Cialis, I didn't try Levitra.
If you are intending to try Viagra for erection, try first 25mg to see if it helps and if you have some side effects. If no help, try 50mg. Never more than 100mg. To reduce cost, you may cut the 100mg pill in 4 pcs. Cialis maximum daily 20mg.

You may try also low dose Cialis (2.5 or 5mg daily) or Viagra (12.5 or 25mg daily ) it may help also.
Do you have nocturnal and/or morning erections?

Warning: be aware that those medications side effect is reducing blood pressure!!! If you have any blood pressure issues you should be careful with those drugs.

James meant to say to see a "Male Functional Specialist"

I also agree that many things advertised as male enhancing and or libido enhancing are made to sound much better than they are.

However..... drugs such as Viagra, Cialis, and Livitra are the real deal. And almost any doctor can provide you samples of these. You can even go to your general practitioner and tell him/her that you are having ED problems. You will know right away if these will help or not. And no you are not too young.

Also....  it is known that stress along with other mental factors can also greatly impact a man's ability to achieve an erection.

how do i see a male functional specialist??
do i need a referall?

to answer reynell's question i have pretty bad depression and anxiety which i believe is the main reason i have ed problems.  your post got me thinking about my antidepressant medication because my first two weeks on it i was getting erections all the time but i don't anymore.  its the lowest dose available so i think maybe im not taking enough.  also it seems that its almost impossible to get hard for 10/12 hours after taking the antidepressant but after that sometimes i can.  maybe if i just get on the right dose of the right drug ill be cured

i have been leaking urine after i go to the bathroom and was wondering if this and ed might be linked.  maybe there is a physical compent to this

can trazadone help?

The best way is to find one and then call their office to find out what is required. Each doctor is different. I did not have a referral when I went to see Dr. Levine. In fact I was shocked when I first called his office and they simply made me an appointment to see me 3 weeks later.

I don't know about your insurance but i have to see a GP then he has to refer me to a Urologist and in my case the urologist sent me to a Specialist, but the referral has to come from my  GP ?? Don't know why but that's how BCBS does it. I see him next week, ill keep y'all up on that too.

As far as anti depressants  just almost all will prevent erections. Some ore than others.  Just depends on the individual
I am off all them now because of my impending retirement next yr.  On a .5 mg mild anti anxiety (as needed) med works great. Another blog..... any way ...

Yes i also drip after going, the Dr's Ive seen said that's likely the plaques pressure on a portion of the urethra. Both Dr's said that should be corrected if the peyeronies is corrected  not really ED.  My stream is also flat as it comes out like there is a stricture but that comes and goes as does the pain and inflammation.

I called my DR in Dallas and talked to his male nurse and talked for a long time. I feel better about it I was told he does many surg for Peyronies Disease and answered alot of questions. Also said he does implants but warned that BCBS will not pay of implants 98% of the time i would have to pay for it my self.  I agree because yrs ago i tried to get Lasic eye surg and they wouldn't because it wasn't life-threatening!

any way he does work with out of towners on surg and hospt stays ect. Ususally after first  apt it surg is necessary he does a work up then schules surg with in a week, then over night stay if all goes ok will follow up in 6 wks.  But ill see how it goes.
But i was assured that he does allot of surg and implants IF NEEDED.

There is a new anti depressant that is not supposed to have the sexual side effects of most.

Talk to your doctor about Viibryd. My wife's doctor switched her to it and it helped her more than anything else.

whygodwhy cialis is the best for peyronies disease its about 150 a month whatever im 26 and pay for it i know its not cheap but its your penis. tv ads and things on the internet could be a scam or they say is cialis and its not which could be very dangerous. Also they usually overprice it too. Its better to get a prescrition and go to your local pharmacy. Sometimes if you ask the doctor to try it he will give you a 2 month supply. Going to your family doctor if you have one and explaining to him what you might think you have he willl usually send you too a peyronies disease specialist... ask too see one recommend one because basic urologist know nothing and at 27 they will think its all in your head.

I bought Cialis 5mg to divide into 2 pills of 2,5 mg, but in the drug paper there is an alert to don't do this. Someone here have already did this? It's effective? I want to take just 2,5 mg per night but here we just have 5mg daily cialis

Thanks
Tom

You are right about what is written not to cut the pills, but I am cutting the 20mg Cialis in 5 pcs of 4mg and I am taking it daily for many months already. It is effective for me with night and morning erections.
It is shortening the release time and the manufacturer is afraid you will have sudden and to long lasting erection.
