Hi to all of you out there,

I'm a german boy of 32 years and actually facing the possibility of having Peyronies Disease. It starts 8 months ago with pain in my penis after having sex with my wife. My penis showed no signs of changes in colour or visible changes. A plaque was not palpabel. Therefore I  do not think it was a major trauma. Then I started  to visit several doctors. At first sonographic ultrasound and MRT showed no signs of injury. Then after 3-4 months my doctor explored 3 little calcified plaques which were not palpabel. Two months after the possible minor injury I started with pentox(3 times 400 mg a day) and a low dos of cialis(5mg a day). In january this year my doctor told me, that two plaques have vanished and the one, which is still there is not longer calcified and perhaps 2 mm in size and not palpabel. I have a slight curvature of perhaps 10 degree and I don't even know if it has been like that before. Erections still seem to be fine.

My problem is the pain while the penis is flaccid. It drives me mad. During intercourse I have only slight pain and discomfort. Once or twice a month I have gentle sex(to avoid further injuries) and after that the pain in the flaccid state increases a bit. I do not know, if I should try to avoid sex for a couple of months or if it is ok to have gentle sex. I don't want to make it worse.

And then there is the mental aspect of the desease. I have developed huge fears about my future life and my thinkings circle around this one Peyronies Disease-problem.

I do not know, what I have to expect. Is there a chance, that the pain goes away and that it does not worse when 8 months have already passed?
I hope, that someone will share his experiences with me, because I'm of the opinion that this is the biggest task I ever faced in my life.
By the way, sorry if I made some mistakes in expressing my situation, I have tried my best.

Good luck to all of you out there!

hi adam - chill out - i know its hard to do but ya gotta accept that this is here and its here to stay for a while...

FOR THE PAIN TAKE UBIQUINOL - i had really bad pain for 6 -12 months - took ubiquinol and presto no pain - combine it with pentox and larginine and ya will be fine - BUT ubiquinol is really the very very best for the pain...

Take it and let us know how you go - I bet you that you will feel an instant relief.

cheers

Worried Guy

Ibuprofen tablets and placing ibuprofen gel directly onto the penis was the only thing that helped with the pain. Then time and healing did the rest.

Hi Adam
In my opinion you should be happy that the Pentox helped you so much and so fast. You have written:
QuoteIn January this year my doctor told me, that two plaques have vanished and the one, which is still there is not longer calcified and perhaps 2 mm in size and not palpabel
It seems also you get a good doctor that is also not so easy.
Regarding sex, my private opinion is OK to go gentle but is important not to abstain. Other people may think different.
I had no pain from Peyronie's, but Ibuprofen helped me with other acute pain.

Hi,

hereĀ“s an update and some good news. My last and third plaque is gone. My doctor can`t see any other plaques on ultrasound. :) :).
But I still have pain in the glans and a very sensitive feeling so that I can not walk fast without discomfort. Does anyone has experiences
having a trauma to the penis and the glans being painfull and sensitive for months. I am now in month 17.

Any comments are welcome.

Greetings

Adam,

Look at the facts.  You have much to celebrate and most of it has been said already.  Against all odds you got a good urologist.  You started treatment early.  You are young.  The result is that you rolled back the effects of Peyronies Disease.  You got at least 3 good options for pain in the previous posts.  I will add one more.  ALC was definitely effective in getting rid of my pain although my pain was not very bad.  I took ALC and within less than a week the pain was gone.  After another week I was curious so I stopped it and the pain was back within a few days.  I started ALC again and again the pain was gone within days.

Gentle sex is important for many reasons both physical and psychological and to strengthen the intimacy in your relationship.

How much ubiquinol are you taking iceman? 100 mgs per day? My pain comes and goes (more goes than comes thanks to god) and I am going to try something for it, I think. The appointment with the uro its in a month or so and I dont want this worsening further -__-.

In my case I had very similar problems.

Yes, abstinence helped me quite a bit.  It seems that only in the period after I let my penis rest/heal that it actually stabalized the pain.

Also, I have gone on medicine to help me with the pain.  I am taking amitriptyline and it's made a huge difference.  I completely understand how you feel in terms of the pain and how destructive it can be.

Also my pain has gone down over time, but it took a LOT of time.  Like I'm 1 year and 4 months in and only now are things becoming bearable.  Just hang in there.  It will feel like it will never get better...but it will!

Also, make sure you talk with your wife and let he know how much her support means to you.  It's easy to take her for granted or only focus on yourself.  Make sure you let her know she's appreciated.  Hopefully this isn't depressing you too much - if it is go get help from a support group or a GOOD social worker/talk therapist.  Your wife took a vow of for better or worse.  Well, this is the worse.  She's there for you - be there for her!  You may be having trouble imagining a future.  Life is hard enough without having to deal with chronic pain or sexual issues.  It will get better.  It will take a lot of time.  You need help and support.  You will get it from mental health experts, your friends, your family and you wife.  Make sure those people also get something back from you.

Also, take care of yourself.  Make sure you do the things that keep people happy - go for walks, eat good food (fruit, veggies, etc).  Stay involved in life - play a sport once a week or even just meet with a friend for coffee on a regular basis.  You will get through this.  Just make sure you take care of the rest of your body as well as the part that hurts.

Time + leaving your guy to heal + medicines that others have posted + pain medication if it becomes too tough + mental support are some good recipes.  This is my personal advice based on my own anecdotal experience.  Some others think that having sex 'excercises' the penis and promotes blood flow.  I personally think that if you're having pain that's a sign to just leave things alone and let it heal up.  It DOES get better.  It just takes time.  hang tough!

I'm 31 btw.

Adam

@guyincog,
thanks for the very deeply thought answer. I know your are right. To take care for the people, who cares for me, is a good advice. Thanks again.

@Hawk,
I have add CoQ10 5 month ago to my daily regiment. I will ALC give a try, thanks for the hint.

Adam, how its your pain nowadays? Have you tried Ubiquinol? That one seemed to do the trick in the pain aspect for some people.

Adam

@Sargonnas

Hi,

my pain is still going on. Because i am under 40, I tried coq10 and not ubiquinol, but its something similar.

Hi to all out there, its been a while since my last post. So here is an update. My three septal scars have resolved in 2012. But now my uro found two new ones on the dorsal side of my penis, size of 1,4mm. These are causing an upward bend of about 20 degrees. Been on pentox double dose since february. My mainproblem is the pain, which destroys my life. It is so hard to be functional in alldays-life and i want so really be a good father to our newborn babyboy. My pain and fears are destroying our familylife and are driving us apart. I really try to suppress my feelings but have not succeeded very often. I do not want to loose my family. It is so sad. Hope to all of you out there. Mine is nearly gone.

  Hi Adam, I am at a 90 degree bend and feel like I have no hope left. My problem started in February of 2013 I tried tracktion and potaba that didn't work for me. I feel lost and helpless

Get on the VED exercise it only takes 15 minutes a day. It is about the only thing that helps until you stabilize, usually about 18 months. Once you stabilize than there is a lot of options for you. I have posted an article called Mending Broken Hearts in the surgery section. That will give you an idea of what can be done once you stabilize. NO good doctor will do surgery until after you stabilize.

Hang in there. Never - Ever give up there is hope and help.
