Hey all.  My name is Jim.  I am 70 years old and have ED and now a 90 degree bend caused by Peyronies's   Have been seeing a urologist for the last year and a half.  Been taking 5 mg Tadalafil and have been through a 5 series course of Xiaflex which ended up making the bend worse.  A second urologist told me the shots can actually cause more damage than they fix.  Anyway, in a couple of weeks I am having implant surgery and scar removal.  Hoping this will end both the ED and the Peyronies Disease for me

Now comes my speel   Before deciding on the implant, we were going to try the scar removal first.  That included almost a year of stretching tissue for a lengthy time each day and a device that wasn't covered by insurance.  It is a Restorex device from the Mayo Clinic and I have no need of it at this point.  They will not take it back even though it is still in the package and has never been looked at by me.  If you are being asked to buy a device to assist with your treatment, I might be able to make you a deal.  It was fairly expensive but was highly recommended by my current doctor. Let me know.

Welcome to the forum JimG to the forum and please fill out your signature line -->Signature Line. Then please download our survival guide -->Survival Guide . This will give you a better understanding regarding peyronies and it's different treatments.

First I would say that Xiaflex performed in the right surgeons hands does work. Please search the forum as Dr Trost has a very high success rate using this drug. There are many urologists that don't have a clue about using it correctly. I understand that you do have ED and your current urologist wants you to have an implant. I don't want to scare you but have you done your homework and research regarding your Dr and his success rate and the amount of implants he does a year? Have you had an erect ultrasound ? Dr Eid in New York is considered one of the top implant surgeons in the USA. Yes there are others but I just want you to be aware of what you are getting into.

The Restorex and traction therapy in general does work. Each man responds differently
to this though. Tadalafil does help with ED and healing peyronies.

If you do go through with your implant then please read the implant section of the forum and you will understand the healing process and what it entails. I don't want to discourage you in an implant because it really is a miracle for a lot of men. I just want you to be knowledgeable and understand everything about it and choosing the correct surgeon for it.    :)
