I recently saw a urologist who told me that, in his experience, those with my presentation (hourglass) tend to progress in "fits and starts" ie: several years of stabilization then sudden worsening.

Do this ring true for anyone out there?

I honestly have low confidence in him. He said this before even looking at my penis, before getting  my medical history and learning I had Dupytrens. He didn't suggest an ultrasound or do any sort of measuring.

The appointment felt rushed and he seemed to be less knowledgeable than most sufferers on this forum.

Have any hourglass sufferers out there found that there Peyronies Disease has followed this "fits and starts" progression?

Hopefully others will chime in but I would suggest getting a new Dr. It sounds like he/she has an attitude and an ego. I would have asked just how many patients have they experienced with this condition? The world is full of no good uneducated and inexperienced Dr's. I may sound cynical but I have had my share of idiots and not just in the peyronies relm either.

Ridiculous. Definitely get another urologist.

As to the Dupuytren's, my mom had it twice so I probably inherited the tendency for Peyronies Disease. My progression lasted about a year, which was twice what's predicted, until finally getting an implant. It could still be progressing, I don't know.

I had two large plaques starting at the base, so it looked more like narrow-to-normal going out. But it's still the same hourglass thing, just fatter at the root before it emerged into view.

I also agree with other's opinion. You need a proper diagnosis and a doctor willing to take the time to examine you and schedule an ultrasound. That doesn't right!
