What does a Doppler show?

Does a Doppler show things like urethral strictures, fibrosis in the spongiosum etc or does it just show blood flow?

Just wondering because I think I have a urethral stricture and fibrosis in the spongiosum and I'd like to have something done.

Would a Doppler or an MRI be enough to diagnose this or not ?

A Doppler from my understanding first and foremost shows the blood flow. Then the internal structures. I do know that plaques/scar tissue are sometimes difficult to see. I would suppose that strictures could also be difficult to see but that is just my opinion. I do know that an ultrasound should always be done with an erection though.

Should it show damage inside the spongiosum??

I've had two ultrasounds and an mri surely one of those two would see the presence of scar tissue?

I would ask for the reports on all three and compare them together. With that kind of testing done if there was something there I would suppose it should have shown up.

Is there a specific test for fibrosis in the corpus spongiosum?

Because I have had Doppler and MRI but they never find anything wrong yet I can feel the hardened tissue with my fingers.
