I have had my implant now for about 5 years.
It has been great.
I had surgery on my shoulder 2 weeks ago and therefore have not used it.
I am trying to pump it, but it offers a lot of resistance and although I squeeze  it, nothing happens.
Unfortunately my strongest arm is in a sling. I have tried squeezing the bulb button, but I think it's stuck.
I checked on the site and it has several suggestions, has anyone had this problem and what have you done?
Thanks

Hello Stepone.  Do you mean that your pump bulb won't squeeze or can you squeeze and the bulb remains flat and does not refill?

it feels like it is stuck in a closed position.
When I squeeze the pump, it springs back to full position.
But it is not pushing liquid into penis.
I keep trying to squeeze the button, but it won't seem to unstick.
Coloplast refers to this as "sticky pump syndrome".
Because of my shoulder pain, I wasn't having sex for a few weeks, and I think it's just stuck and without two hands, I can't seem to free it up.
i see my regular urologist on Saturday.
I dont think he is a real penis pump expert.
It seems I have a problem with my penis, but there are no repair shops, LOL,
i will see what he says, maybe he can refer me.
I was hoping someone might have a possible solution.
Coloplast had this on their website.

Have you tried it in a hot tub, bath or shower,  get everything good and warmed up. Lentz had performed my first as well and was a Titan.  Got 5 yrs out of it before the tubing burst.

thanks for reply.
i am not able to take baths yet, because of revision surgery on shoulder.
i live in Fl, so i cant easily get back to him.
i guess i may have to find a new surgeon here.
its vey difficult with one hand right now.
ugh,ill try to check this site for a surgeon just in case.
i may ask my spouse, i feel sort of private about this.
i wish i had a close male friend here that could do it.
i had other male friends in Pa and SC that knew my story and were fascinated by my implant.
i showed my implant to his wife, non-sexual, and she was ready to book her husband.
But down here I have none yet.
i hate to put this onto spouse as they are already caring for me with daily infusions, etc,
As a man, I feel I need to keep up some ilusion of power, but this whole thing has me perplexed.
i may try some hot compresses later, but without two hands it is rough.

Understand not taking baths yet, have you tried FT?  Maybe someone on there may have an answer..  it will be interesting how the hot compress will work, should do great.  I am having a shoulder replacement surgery in about a month from now, rotator cup was 18 months ago, didn't work.  I guess I will have the same issue for awhile after the surgery,  also look at EDcure website for surgeons in Florida and if they are a center of excellence,  coloplast has the same thing,  as far as the wife pumping it for me.. it hurts like hell when bulb slips out when squeezing...

thanks for update.
Yes i had a revision shoulder reverse implant.
Surgeon didn't like look of tissues around the failed old implant.
5 biopsies all showed bacteria infection.
I am on PICC antibiotic infusions 3 times daily until 12/19, ugh.
in meantime i contacted Dr Lentz and he said
press deflate button hard
squeeze penile shaft
then immediately use both thumbs and press hard to squeeze pump
this will usually release pump an cycle normally
i will try this evening with spouse.
if not he said he has associate about 45 miles from me who can help,

good luck

Ugh,
We tried last night to fix the problem with the non working pump.
per my penile implant urologist, Dr Lentz at Duke University, he called the problem "stiction syndrome"
his note said press the deflate button and squeeze the penile shaft to remove all fluid out of cylinders, immediately squeeze the pump very hard with both thumbs.
He wrote this will usually release the stickiness and pump should cycle normally.
This procedure didn't work, so I in process of making appointment at Titan Center Of Excellence in Orlando.

Well, this is a first for me, I googled Stiction Syndrome and did pull up information on it.. sorry for your troubles with this, I hope they can resolve the issue for you and that they don't have to remove the pump or the whole thing.  I do have a question, when you went for your shoulder surgery did you go into the surgery with your penis completely deflated?  By what I read in the articles of Stiction Syndrome it looked like it occured in most men if they didn't cycle in at least 6 weeks, makes me think that the morning of the surgery when I have my shoulder reversal next month I need to be cycling a few times before surgery.

Thanks
I tried FT, that site offered nothing.
I tried Dr Lentz' suggestion to unstick, no relief.
i have contacted titan center of excellence here in Florida.
Waiting for appointment.

I fudged the spouse Monday night and deflated to almost nothing.
Surgery was Friday afternoon.
I tried using on week after surgery.
So yes I cycled 4 days before surgery,
I guess it is what it is, LOL

Hallelujah!

After a lot of trials, I finally unstuck my Titan pump valve.
I think it was some of my fault, as I dont think i was pressing on the rounded part of pump at center.
But it works, still a little sticky, and I have an appontment with a high volume surgeon next month. So my question is, is the pump about to fail?

i will keep you all posted.
stay well.

Hawk

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner.

I have had my Titan for about seven years and have run into this on several occasions.  The first couple of times, I was distressed that it was done for.  I have found that the easiest fix is to depress the deflate button and give several pumps at the same time (pretty impossible if one arm is in a sling).  Even though the pump resistance is pretty strong, that always unsticks or resets the valve for me.  To prevent that, I always pump a couple of pumps to immediately reset the valve after deflating rather than leaving the valve in the default position.

Well sometimes it becomes a real struggle to deflate and then pump later. So yes I do what Hawk suggested. Hawk shared this with me before, so now after I deflate, I always will give 1-2 pumps to make it ready for next time.
But this is a problem for me every time I deflate. If I don't try right away to pump up after deflating, it can take days to be able to inflate again, because of the sticky pump.
I am going to see a Titan Center of Excellence doctor next week and will see what he says.
This is a constant problem for me.
I'll keep everyone posted.

I was to drive to Orlando, Fl regarding my sticky pump, but I canceled my appointment as it has been working. It's still a little sticky, but I have started pumping 4 times a week, usually 2 times for sex and 2 times just to make the pump work. It seems to be getting better.
The titan doctor told me if it gets worse to call him, but he didn't think it would be a problem.

That is great news. I hope it keeps functioning well and you don't have to get a revision to make the pump work! Thanks for sharing the good news.
