Or is this a condition that would take lots more abuse over time to cause?

Thanks, everybody.

Just one opinion, I don't think there's any conclusive evidence that self-abuse has ever caused Peyronies Disease. It's a common opinion that it's caused by injury, and yes self-abuse can cause injury, but it's all speculation.

The real question is "are you prone to Peyronies Disease?"  Do you have it now?

I'd say how you move forward is how to focus on it, and not how it happened. It's simply not preventable and how it happened is irrelevant. It ALWAYS takes its victims by surprise.

By rough what do you mean? If you were humping a wooden table then maybe yes but if you just used your hand I would say pretty much impossible unless you squeezed it so hard it turned Purple.

Narrowing on right side and about a 20° curve to the right.
ED + instability due to narrowing.

I would ask if when you masturbated did you have a hard erection? Were you just semi erect and kept putting excessive bending pressure or buckling on your strokes? Yes it is true that each individuals genetic predisposition to peyronies is a factor here. Did you masturbate 5 or 10 times in a day? Did you use lube?  All of these factors go into play here.

Factors that can lead to peyronie's disease are:
1. use of the a rough grip during masturbation
2. not using lube
3. too much masturbation
4. masturbating or having sex when your penis is not fully erect
5. sudden bending of penis during erection

I'd like to see studies that prove in any way how Peyronies Disease occurs. Not saying I don't believe rough masturbation won't cause it, just that I'm not convinced that any study has been done on the subject. My urologist's PA asked me if I'd had an injury, which I hadn't, so the belief is certainly there. But, if so, how long does it take for plaque to accumulate after an injury to the point of Peyronies Disease? Days? Weeks? Months?

Thank you for your reply, and you're right, I'm likely focusing on the wrong thing here. As I'm so upset at myself for getting Peyronies Disease, that I'm likely searching for even more reasons to beat myself up for getting this disease – which isn't helpful. Just going through a lot of self hate.

Just my hand, but I was on some meds, which made it hard to ejaculate, so I was going to town on myself. It wasn't easy to maintain an erection, either. So I'm furious at myself for doing this to myself, and possibly causing a lifetime of torment.

Thank you, as mentioned above I was on meds that made me horny but also harder to maintain an erection and ejaculate. So, I had long nightly sessions. I maybe had about three or so of these. I was using lube. Anyway, just extremely upset that I might have done this to myself.
