Hey guys so why does everybody ask how much the curvature is as if it's the only variable that causes Erectile Dysfunction in Peyronies?

I have very little curvature with what I would call "soft erections", I have no morning wood , or spontaneous erections anymore.

My penis itself has only slight curvature with an indent where the pain is. But I still have severe Erectile Dysfunction.

I feel like I can feel plaque on that exact spot of where the pain is, it feels like a sheath of semi hard gristle,  that's most noticeable when flaccid. This is the best way I can describe.

I saw a URO who was very dismissive he prescribed me PENTOX 3X daily for 3 months. For the constant pain, I've been having.

I've had a hard time being consistent with the medicine.

Hi 305made,

I have the exact same situation. Curvature is not really a problem but ED is become worse. Tadalafil helps but don't see that as a the solution to take for the rest of your life
Peyronie since 2020. Inflammation started probably after microtrauma. Almost no curvature. Still a weak spot with  scarring. At this point biggest issue is ED and once in a while recurring inflammation.

And I am also in the same spot. Dent on right side that starts from base and goes halfway up the shaft. Weak morning erections, zero spontanous erections even if I go weeks without masturbating. Been over 2 years of this now and no one could solve it. Curve milld but ED has progressed.

Narrowing on right side and about a 20° curve to the right.
ED + instability due to narrowing.

Hey 305,

Good post. The curvature is one of the biggest indicators that there is plaque build up in the shaft of the penis. This is what causes the curve and over time can cause erectile dysfunction. The degree of the curve can cause issues having sex. On many boards here in the forum where they are posting about therapies being used such as VED and Traction the degree of the curve is discussed to help show progress of the therapy being used.

You ask why we ask.  This is why:
Just as Stabler said, curvature is usually the first indication of Peyronies Disease.  Deformity of some type always accompanies Peyronies Disease.  Your treatment options are often dictated by the degree of deformity, and it is the one symptom that can totally prevent intercourse.  That is why we ask but it certainly is not all we ask or all we are concerned with.

I have to say I find it interesting that you see your Uro as being very dismissive, but he prescribed you medication that you are not even committed to taking.  Does it seem like there is something a little strange with this picture?

A better question is why pentox is not available in more than half of the EU regions. I would have loved to have tried this when my symptoms just began rather than wasting half a year on the useless ''vitamin e protocol''

Based on what I read it seems pentox greatly improves bloodflow. Not a single urologist I visited here even mentioned it and it's not available to get..

Hey Hawk I wasn't trying to be dismissive  to people with more severe curvature, and I guess you're right it does play a significant role in Peyronies for a lot of people.

But I'm a little jaded about my current symptoms and condition, on top of my young age and the lack of that much sexual experience really makes the situation even more depressing.

I mean I can take the max dose of tadalafil and that won't even guarantee I get hard enough, it's upsetting.

A large cohort study on young people with Peyronies show that curvature is in fact less severe, compared to the more classical presentation that older people who present with the disease have.

My uro seemed very dismissive because I told him my concerns about Peyronie's disease , but he instead went on to go on a spiel about hard flaccid. Why can I feel a hard spot when flaccid , why do I have pain in this exact spot I asked him ? He couldn't give me an answer , he went on to feel my dick and mentioned something about my dent , and said it feels normal.

But he could never give me straight answer on what's actually wrong with me.

I appreciate that he was able to try to help me a little by giving me meds , I have other more serious health issues that exacerbate my symptoms. So taking Pentox isn't easy all the time , it's a strong medication.

These are the basic facts that have to be considered.

If you have Erectile Dysfunction that is not satisfactorily treated with the maximum dose of medication then it is either psychological or physical.

1. If it is psychological, then you must get to the bottom of it and address it.  Much of the solution will be your direct responsibility to address with the help of a psychologist, meditation, etc.

2. If it is physical, then your only options for satisfying intercourse are a VED or a penile implant.  There is some chance that injections would work, but they bring the risk of more scaring.  There is some minimal chance that low-T could be an issue.  Have it checked.

A few indications of psychological vs. physical Erectile Dysfunction are: do you get erections when you masturbate?  Do you sometimes get night-time erections?

Significant physically induced Erectile Dysfunction that does not respond well to oral medication seldom gets better. It requires alternative approaches.

Do you think a very obvious hard spot with pain could be anything other than Peyronie?

Yeah it's not a very good predicament with my age i can't stop thinking about it.

My erections are softer they don't really feel that hard at all. 10mg of cialis and they only get slight better .

As far as the Pentox goes I feel like it's helping my take the edge of my pain .

Yea bro the tadalafil helps,  but not much .

I don't know else I could have besides Peyronies. I have a hard spot with constant pain, hopefully it can be something else.

My erections feel softer as well.

It's incredibly difficult to say. I would say if the hard spot feels like a little hard grain/pea then most likely it is Peyronies as the penis doesn't really have anything that would normally feel like a hard grain/pea like lump.

I have nothing palpable at all inside my penis, can't feel any plaque/lump/hard spot but I was diagnosed either way. 3 different urologists have palpated thouroughly and could not feel anything. I would say the best way to diagnose Peyronies is if you notice any sudden changes while being erect. This is how I spotted mine. All of a sudden I noticed a dent on the right side which made my penis look very crooked to the right side. Like a banana that has been squished on the right side so that it is more narrow in that area.

To newer members I always say, if you know for a fact that your penis had a different shape prior to your issues and you now have noticed a sudden curve or indentation/narrowing then you 95% likely have scarring.

I knew almost instantly I had it just by observing the change in shape. My penis was slightly curved before the disease but the erection angle was pointing up to the ceiling. All of a sudden I noticed a tilt to the right and a quite long narrowed spot on the right side.

That makes sense .

Appreciate the tips.

I do have a dent where the pain / hard spot is on the left ventral side .

But it doesn't feel like a pea as you described , it feels like a hard square band of tissue, almost like fat that covers meat or gristle . While the opposing not dented side of my meat feels soft and squishy .

I know I've been having pain for a year or 2 now , it's constant when flaccid and erect .

But I can't help but feel guilty when I do anything sexual , so I'm just gonna stop it all together.

Hopefully I didn't do much damage masturbating and having sex in the time that have been having this constant pain .

But my ED is pretty bad even with cialis the erections are still "soft".

I remember when I was 14 I had a very similar pain like this and it eventually dissipated in like 3 weeks. But I never had the dent though. So maybe if I let it heal .

I saw a uro that specialized in Peyronies and he was pretty rude and unempathetic.

He palpated me and went on to tell me about the dent , but then he just went on to say it feels normal . Even though I can clearly feel the hard spot .

Maybe this is a good sign that I don't have Peyronies not sure. But as I was asking about the disease to him he went in to tell me about treatments and all that . But when I asked him if he thinks I have it .

He said it's unlikely because im to young .

And that my pain has lasted to long to be Peyronies.

So im not sure.

Yeah, sadly that's an experience many including myself have had, my first visit to a urologist ''Peyronies expert'' was very expensive and he was a complete jackass. Peyronies is not esclusive to older people, even people as young as 19 can get it and the pain can last years for in some extreme cases. Monitor your changes while fully erect, that's the best way to self diagnose. Keep a picture diary. That's the best proof you can have if it has stabilized or is progressing. Take a fully erect picture at the end of each month and monitor.

Yeah you're a little bit older than me but we're both young .

Hopefully there's a light at the end of the tunnel .

I saw someone with similar symptoms as us on Reddit saying , they were mostly healed from Peyronies.

After taking Pentox and colchine for a year.

They also said they did some type of laser pulse thing shockwave I believe . For 3 weeks .

I would interested to see how my symptoms progress or stay the same if I don't do anything sexual for 3 months or so.

All your symptoms definitely point toward Peyronies. Its by no means normal to have a dent on the penis while erect. This points towards scarring and really that's just all it is. Dents while semi erect could point to hard flaccid syndrom or just simply that the penis takes a bit more time to fill those areas out. Guys who have dents while semi erect but fills out completely while erect most likely have hard flaccid. But dents while fully erect is 100% Peyronies.

Yeah I don't think the dent stays when I have an erection .

I do notice a curve to my erectionn that becomes more pronounced the more flaccid it gets . Any maybe some thinning of my dick .

The pain is kicking my buttt I'm just gonna be celibate for a couple and months and see how that goes. This is agony.

Don't know how it can last this long I swear it's been 3 years or so at this point .

It sounds like you're experiencing some challenging symptoms related to Peyronie's disease and erectile dysfunction. While curvature is a common symptom associated with Peyronie's, it's not the only factor contributing to erectile dysfunction in this condition.

It's positive that you've sought medical help, but it's unfortunate that you feel dismissed by your urologist. PENTOX (pentoxifylline) is indeed a common medication prescribed for Peyronie's disease to help with pain and potentially reduce plaque formation, but consistency with medication can be difficult, especially if you're experiencing side effects or not seeing immediate results.

In addition to PENTOX, your urologist might consider other treatment options such as oral medications like Tadalafil or injections like Verapamil or Xiaflex. However, it's crucial to discuss these options thoroughly with your healthcare provider and ensure they're suitable for your specific condition and medical history.

I arrived here as I have exactly the very same symptoms you have, including the location and the feeling of the (plaque?) and everything else (i.e no curve, but pain flaccid, erect, inability to get 'full' erections and low urine flow / trouble fully emptying the bladder). Did you eventually ended up knowing what was going on?, did you get an ultrasound / MRI ?. Hopefully you are ok / feeling better by know. I'm waiting for my urologist appointment
