Will masturbating while in the acute phase cause further damage? Not masturbating in normal grip, but by laying on your back having your penis lay on your stomach and rubbing the top gently? No pain but want to ensure I am not causing further harm or delaying healing.

This topic has been asked several times and you will get a lot of different opinions from other guys here. You need to be careful and discover for yourself if you are causing any further damage or preventing healing. Some Dr's say don't stop having sex and others say the opposite. Using a lot of lube and being gentle is better than an extended edging session and no lube. Search the forum and read others responses.

Seems like a contentious topic for sure. I think its best to stop, why go back to the well that poisoned you.

I never stopped because I can still get an erection.  I think continuing to masturbate caused me to have six plaques, took about nine months before I was beginning to feel more!  If I had to do it over when I was originally diagnosed I def would have stopped for a month or two.  Even now I give myself at least ten days in between.

If you're gonna keep doing it use lube, extra if possible.

Thanks for the advice, but I think it's best to not engage in the activity at all. I still get erections, but why potentially cause more damage.

What I've seen here is a significant number of men saying that they thought the acute phase was over only to find it started up again (myself included) even when being very careful. My opinion: no one knows if masturbation will affect Peyronies Disease adversely.

So I'm not going to deny myself pleasure because it might be detrimental. For all we know nocturnal erections cause damage and plaque. Can we stop that? (BTW that's how I first noticed it, woke up many nights from intense pain with NTEs) The debate over how it starts hasn't born results IMO. I do what I can to get my penis bigger and stronger, but I'm sure not giving up sex. That's so ironic!

Very good point. I am 3 years into the disease. Have not had penetrative sex for over 2 years nor have I never had another episode where my penis has hurt or been involved in trauma yet I notice that nowadays while the curve of the shaft have become a bit straighter with time my glans is now pointing even more to the right than used to.

So I legitimately have absolutely no idea how the disease can be progressing/changes in deformity occuring 3 years into this thing while at the same time being extremely careful.
30 years. Sudden rightwards curve detected in June 2020
Narrowing on right side and about a 20° curve to the right.
ED + instability due to narrowing.

We make decisions about risk factors every day, but this disease probably makes us more tentative than usual because it's a traumatizing experience and evokes fear. From what I can tell, there's very little that is known about what's triggering, or the duration of, this condition.

So my approach is to be as normal as possible and don't freak out about it. Do the RestoreX and/or VED and/or meds to correct it (or get surgery done - I'm currently too chicken for surgery but might be persuaded by a reputable expert.) but I won't deny myself the very thing my penis was designed to do. Life's just too short to squander my natural pleasurable moments.
