Diet, yoga and thinking right

I have been asked privately a few times about my progress following a whole food plant based diet and specifically a protocol created by a Dr Goldner. I posted about this in the improvements section last August.

Instead of responding to forum members individually I think it is more useful if I post here. Please read that thread if you want to know more about the diet part.

In short, this approach is working for me and I continue to make progress, however I have discovered two other factors that have really helped.

The first is that I started doing yoga recently with a particular emphasis on pelvic health and there are some great videos on Youtube from a Dr Bri, who specialises in pelvic health stretches and relaxation. N.B if you are not used to stretching or yoga take this slowly to avoid injury, but yoga seems to have been very helpful and I only started a couple months ago.

The other part is the mental side and Dr Goldner talks about this a lot, but I couldn't seem to find a way through that. For various reasons I've battled with a lot of anxiety over so many years and it's a major block for healing. There were times I found I was still eating the good foods, yet my healing would completely pause or even feel worse for a while, because of stress. At the same time my erections became pitiful, especially when attempting sex, which of course made the anxiety worse.

Not long ago I discovered a guy called Gary John Bishop and he's pretty much opposite to all the self help gurus out there. He's a very straight talking Scotsman, who believes in taking personal responsibility, accepting things without blame or feeling like a victim and then moving on.

I've read three of his books now and listen to his free podcasts whenever I'm alone. He uses a lot of bad language very deliberately, so it's not something you can listen to with other people around, but after a while I just noticed my anxiety about Peyronie's and other parts of my life steadily reducing and that is improving all the time. I've found this has also helped my relationships and dealings around other people and seems to have released the brakes on healing.

At this point I think the Peyronie's is not much of a problem. I still have a slight upward curve and a small amount of left side narrowing that seems to be reducing every week. I have no difficulty now obtaining or maintaining a good erection, which was the main thing that started me on this diet.

I do still have a slightly soft glan at the top, but again this is much better and continues to improve. If I went back to this time last year it was like a sponge and penetration was virtually impossible. That used to make me so angry.

Right now I would say that the Peyronie's scarring is very minimal in one place where the upward curvature begins and some left side narrowing exists.

I do have a little chord like damage along the length of my penis, but I think this is a bit of remaining hard flaccid that is slowly reducing. It's strange because if I rub it with my hands it becomes like hard rubber, but if I leave it alone, and especially if I lift my legs or practice reverse kegals it practically disappears for a while, so that is more like hard flaccid than just Peyronie's.

All I can suggest is that you give it a go, if you think it would work for you, and be patient. It's not easy or quick, but I think the diet with the right mental attitude gives your body a chance to heal. Also I would avoid porn and masturbation. I hope that helps.

If anybody has questions, perhaps we can keep them on this thread, so everybody can benefit.
55 years old. First developed Peyronie's in 2012. Tried all the usual treatments without success and generally only got worse. Seeing improvement following a move to a raw whole food plant based diet, plus flax seeds, lots of water and yoga.
