Hi all *wave*

A few days ago I suddenly noticed the head of my penis pointing upwards. A bit of googling led me here and I've now started to get pretty overwhelmed and feel devastated.
As you can see from the pic* it's pretty clear it's Peyronie's although I haven't yet seen a urologist. I can also feel the plaque/hardening just below the glands. And there seems to be some narrowing/hourglassing too..
It's just pretty shocking as it must have bent over a very short period of time and I'm scared it might bend further still.
Is there any advice on what to do next? I'm in London so will try and book in for a specialist over the next few days. I've already ordered some of the supplements mentioned in the Survival guide. I've also spoken to my girlfriend about this and she's extremely understanding and supportive which helps a lot.

Any advice would be appreciated as I'm basically just feeling super anxious and depressed right now.
In particular any advice from anyone who had a similar "shape" to me would be great. Do you think Restorex would work for me?

*Btw, the pics are taken in fully erect mode - I still had some cialis from a previous episode of very mild Erectile Dysfunction.

Looks like Peyronies Disease to me. Not only the curve, but also you have hourglassing.

Pre-Trost treatment, 110 composite curve (75 up, 35 left)
Post-Trost xiaflex treatment, 0-15 degree curve.

Welcome Sempa to the forum. It appears that it could be peyronies as the bend and all. Hopefully you will get an ultrasound and get a correct diagnosis. I can say that I had the exact same thing happen to me in 2020. Dr Levine is my physician and he did see scar tissue just below the glans. I started immediately with traction with the PMP and started on the supplements too. I also was prescribed Pentox and Cialis, which I had to stop because of sudden hearing loss. I used the PMP for about 1 1/2 years and then started on the Restorex to correct the bend. I have been seeing an improvement over time.

Do you have any pain? So you do have some mild erection problems, the Cilais will help with that. It will also help with reducing inflammation and providing oxygen.  I would be careful with sex as to not cause any further damage. Keep a close watch on your mental attitude and remember that this is a marathon and not a sprint. This takes time and more time. Keeping your girlfriend involved with this is a great mental boost and will help you in the long run. Your hour glassing could also be improved with adding in VED therapy. Most of all is to keep educating yourself about this as you will not find many qualified peyronies Dr's on this planet. Yes you may find a urologist who will work with you and you can give them a copy of our survival guide if they are humble and caring enough.  Just don't give up hope.  Mikel7 :)

You have ongoing inflammation, I would advise you to zero alcohol and inflammatory foods, consult a dietician. You need to find a urologist, make sure he is an expert on peyronie's disease, in order not to run the risk of being prescribed outdated therapies that could only waste your time before finding the right therapy for you. In your place I would immediately start with traction, thinking that the plate at this moment is still soft and could easily be stretched and bent on the other side. Be careful, like you said, the warp phase might just be starting.

Good luck

Hello and welcome.  Tons of support here for you.

I would make phone calls to a few uros and take the earliest appointment you can get.

Having an understanding girlfriend and just someone to talk to about this is gonna be a huge help.  Try not to make it all you think about everyday all day, we've been there.  Keep yourself busy, exercise, play video games etc.

All the best.

Thanks all for your kind replies.

I've arranged for a private consultation with a Peyronie's specialist in London next Friday. It's really quite pricey for a 30 minutes session but at least I'll know I didn't waste any time trying to get somewhere on the NHS.

Caspar & Mikel, thanks for your comments around inflammation. I've had Balanitis and inflamed foreskin for a long time. Intermittently treated with Trimovate cream but it's always come back. I do wonder if that's somehow contributed to my Peyronie's.
I've started taking Ibuprofen 3x200mg daily now in order to try and reduce inflammation. I've also started with a Vitamin E oil applied directly twice a day.
I'm generally not drinking much but I'll cut out alcohol now for a few weeks and aim to improve my nutrition (tough as I do like a sugary treat! :o )

As to your other questions, I don't have any pain - I guess that's one good thing at least. I've had ED in the past but I think that was primarily psychological. Now I'm not so sure. I certainly don't have any morning/nighttime erections anymore, even with 5mg cialis.

I've ordered a Restorex device now in anticipation that the urologist will prescribe some form of traction. Can't say I'm excited about using it (it looks painful!) but I'm happy to give everything a shot at this point.

Dent-n-curve

Welcome, Sempa!

I'm sorry we've all had to join this club, but hope seems alive around here.  I wish you all the best with stopping this in its tracks and improving.

Quote from: Mikel7 on March 10, 2023, 03:57:58 PMI also was prescribed Pentox and Cialis, which I had to stop because of sudden hearing loss.
Holy sh*t! As someone taking both of those things daily, I don't like that one bit.

Which of those two medications did you attribute to the hearing loss? And did you get your hearing back?
Early 50s, Peyronie began mid 2022 as pain, dent near base, curve toward dent, then became waisting/hinging into upward curve. Currently on Pentox/Cialis/Arginine, + Restorex.  Seeing Dr. Carrion, Xiaflex round 1 completed on 7/12/23

All of my Dr's cannot pinpoint which one caused this as I was taking Cialis and Pentox dor peyronies and also Celebrex and tylenol for arthritis in my back. My brain Dr said that these drugs are known causes of hearing disorders as they are ototoxic. They did say that this a rare occurrence but none the less a documented one in clinical trials. No I have not regained my hearing back and I suffer from tinnitus and hyperacusis accompanied with migraines occasionally. I had to quit my teaching job and I am disabled at this point. I do have a work from home job though that I enjoy.

Welcome Sempa. I'm sorry to hear you have joined our club. I messaged you privately with my own situation but wanted to respond here as I have only just seen your pictures.

My condition is very similar to yours, plaque and curve in exactly the same place, even nearly the same angle.

I was extremely depressed when I first found out about it, it took me quite some time to get out of the hole of depression. I worked very hard at home modelling, I never got a device due to not being able to think how I'd fit it into my work and home schedule. I used home modelling as well as the prescription from Dr. Ralph in London. I continue to take tadalafil.

My condition has stabilised which is good news for me. Whether that was because of the treatment or not, I'll never know.

I wish you the best of luck treating it and keep strong. There are so many people who understand what you are going through, you are not alone. You may even know other people in real life who have gone through the same thing, but for obvious reasons they do it in silence.

Sempa. Good luck on your appointment on Friday. I am looking forward to hearing what your doctor reported and what treatment plan he will suggest. Welcome to the forum!
30 years. Sudden rightwards curve detected in June 2020
Narrowing on right side and about a 20° curve to the right.
ED + instability due to narrowing.
