Hello guys,

I had my one year follow up.  After the examination I have more plaque on the left side now, I kinda thought I did but now it's confirmed.  My uro wants to do an erect doppler next Friday.

I will search the forum for answers but I'm gonna ask anyway, what is the whole experience like?  What to do before?  After?  How long does the erection last?  What does the needle feel like?  Any bruising or swelling afterwards?

Thanks

Be well.

If you are erected for over an hour DO NOT WAIT LONGER and take Sudafed to put your erection down. As some members know, I got my initial deformity because I waited for over 3 hours to put my excruciating painful erection down with an injection of Phenylephrine.
My first symptoms started early in 2019
I tried Traction device, Pentofixiline, Q10, TRT, L-Argenine, cialis
I have narrowing/dent/hinge on the left side of my shaft
My ED is getting worse
Had a PRP shot Aug 2021

They don't make you stay there until it goes down?  I mean is it typically gonna last 3hrs?

I really don't wanna do it but I need the blood flow checked.

Hi FrankPD,

I has a Doppler done on Dec 2022.

From a procedural perspective, the injection to induce the erection surprisingly doesn't hurt at all. And the procedure is fast and painless.

The first step was the injection to induce the erection. The doctor gave the shot and then left for 5 minutes. When he returned I was erect, if I wasn't they would have injected with another shot.

The procedure took 5 minutes, they find the plaque take a measurement and then measure blood flow and identify if there are any leaks.

Then you wait for your erection to go down for about 10 to 15 min.

if your erection doesn't go down there is a shot to reduce erection. For that shot I felt more of a prick,for reference  the Covid vax hurt more when I took it. However the days after I did have some bruising. But yes maybe  take Sudafed because the shot they  give you to reduce the erection is just a shot of Sudafed's active ingredient.

There wasn't much pain over the next few days but the bruising did stay with me for 2 weeks. I do bruise easily though

@Nycboy

Thanks for the response.  What about sensitivity?  My penis is very sensitive, always has been.  Has anyone ever had any accidents or this isn't that type of erection?

Thanks!

The injection will induce a firm erection. Then afterwards you will get another injection to bring down your erection. What Nycboy says is correct. When I had an ultrasound done with Dr Levine he gave me an injection to bring my erection down. It was still engorged somewhat but it wasn't hard like a priapism is. I remember before I left his office I was nervous about it being to engorged and he checked me again and said that it was normal and blood flow is getting into it. It did slowly go back to normal after about an hour.

@Mikel7

Thanks for the response.

Did you have any swelling, bruising or pain the days after?

I did have a small bruise where the injection site was and a little discomfort that all went away after a week or so.

My bruising lasted longer almost 3 weeks but even when they draw blood from my arm I sometimes get bruising that last a month. So the driver on the bruise is also how your body manages bruises overall.

In terms of discomfort, it actually didn't hurt at all it just looked horrible.

From an erection standpoint, I didn't feel it was like a full on super hard erection, but because there is the risk of the four hour erection the doctor felt it prudent to give me the shot to reduce the erection.  To give some context, even when he gave me the shot the erection actually didn't fully reduce for another 30 minutes. I actually started panicking a bit and was waiting outside and went back to the doctor and he said well it's not full on erection so it's going down. He let me go home and said if it doesn't continue to reduce come back. Now it did go down, but I actually got a few more erections after, but they also went down.

I agree with Nycboy and Mikel7. Procedure should be pretty straightforward: injection to get you erect, Doppler, injection to make your boner go away. You may still have like a semi after leaving the practice but if it is not firm enough for penetration for 4 hours it is not priapism.

If you get the excruciatingly painful erection that Budluck is referring to that is indicative of a RARE problem but I have heard of this phenomenon before where someone will have a very painful erection with trimix even under 4 hours and it will result in deformity. Personally I have never had that happen to me and have injected trimix 100+ times and have had erections lasting 3-4 hours.  True priapism damage doesn't typically occur until 6 hours anyways https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK459178/.

None of that should be an issue though because your Dr should give you an injection to bring it down in the office.

They called me to push my Doppler up to tomorrow at 7am!  Nerves are settling in.  I have to fast after 10pm.  Do you know if they take a urine sample before?  I can't eat or drink, don't know if I should urinate before I leave the house.  I mean no drinking, don't know if I'll go again.  It's like 10 minutes away.
