Scared about having a doppler - is it necessary?

I felt like after reading some stuff on the forum of people getting the injection for a penile doppler they had bigger problems.  I'm scheduled to have one next month but not sure if I need it.  Would like forums opinions.  I have about 20-25 degree left curve and I'm on cialis.  I do NOT have any ED whatsoever and have active sex life with my wife.  The dr. said he wanted to do one to measure the exact curvature and the locations of the plaque.  I don't really think it matters at this point.  Was curious if I should just put this off or just tell him to do it without the injection if that's a thing...

He's also talked about doing xiaflex if this gets worse but I think that's a lot worse and I really don't want to do that to get a 30% reduction and go from like 25 degrees to like 18 degrees.

You would have to be incredibly unlucky for one injection to cause serious damage.

It is 100% up to you what you want to do. It can be a useful tool when people have ED to diagnose eventual venous leaks or other blood flow problems but you say you have no ED.

What your doc wants to do (measure curve and locate plaque) is usually only done in preparation for Xiaflex or other injections. It's kinda uneccessary to just do it like that for nothing.

To peform a doppler just to measure curve degree and plaque location really doesn't offer much benefit.

Just take Sudafed if your erection last for more than 1 hour and you will be fine, in my case I got f'~c<+d up because I wait almost 4 hours before I put the erection down, Nathan Papadeas never warned about anything...

So I had the Doppler done in December 2022. But I wanted to understand how bad the issue was as I had been to 4 urologists and everyone had a different story.  From my understanding, the Doppler is more to confirm blood flow, while the plaque location can be important the Doppler really is going to tell if there is any blood leakage.

From a procedural perspective, the injection to induce the erection surprisingly doesn't hurt at all. And the procedure is fast and painless. However as sonic mentioned, if your erection doesn't go down there is a shot to reduce erection. For that shot I felt more of a prick, for reference  the Covid vax hurt more when I took it. However the days after I did have some bruising. Sonic's is right take Sudafed because the shot they  give you to reduce the erection is just a shot of Sudafed's active ingredient.

But as you say it's up to you as to if you want to move forward. For me it was just helpful to understand the full  picture because as I said every urologist said something different.

In terms of laying out next steps from the doctor, I think it's almost mandatory that the doctors have to lay out next treatment options (ie xiaglex or surgery)  and put those into their notes. I think you are in nyc area,  so you can see all the notes the doctors write in the my chart system.

I had one after a year and I was scared too of the reaction, worsening and other issues.

It's really nothing to have and the actual procedure takes about 7 minutes.

All the best for whatever you decide.
